Join us for a travel day, from Tokyo back to the UK. First we take the train to Haneda Airport, via the Yamanote Line and Tokyo Monorail. We explore the departure lounge at Terminal 3 in Haneda Airport. I show you the food options (including vegetarian/vegan options) – some of the best airport food anywhere! – and the best shops, including lots of flavours of Japanese Kitkats and fun souvenirs. Plus the best value convenience store at the airport (7-Eleven). Then we fly with JAL (Japan Airlines) to London Heathrow in economy class, showing you the seats, legroom, how comfortable it is and the vegetarian meal (VLML). I love the flight time of JAL’S JL41, which leaves just after midnight, so you get the whole day in Tokyo before you leave. This isn’t the end of my Japan vlogs – there’s still lots more coming up!

  1. I've actually never been to Haneda eventhough I've been to Japan several times mostly through Tokyo. Looks so nice!

  2. When we flew on the same flight (JL41) on economy, we did get bonus skylounge access. It wasn’t that well mentioned- just had SKYLOUNGE2230 on the ticket. Easy to miss. And you can only enter at the specified time.

Checking on it later, it’s something they do as it’s a late night flight with no meal for 8 hours, and small plane.

  3. HND, that's some years ago already since I've last been there. "Unfortunately", if I want to fly direct from my home country the only option I have is with ANA to NRT, and only twice a week. And the return flight from NRT back home departs in the morning, so that's one of the first N'EX trains into the airport 🥱But that was one quiet terminal. That 7-Eleven looks familiar though. I think my sole departure was in that area and I was able to get in there right before it was closing on that day. Bought something to drink, put it in my backpack and forgot about it until I had to transfer in Frankfurt and pass security again … 😅.

0:35 : fyi, it is recommended that you should keep your suitcase on a step higher than you to ensure that it can't fall down.

  4. The tsukemen stand is a little version of Rokurinsha located in Ramen street at Tokyo station. It is literally the best! One of the places I need to go back to in November😍

  5. Hi Amy,
It's always sad to leave Japan, I know. Luckily I'm leaving this weekend for a 3-week trip to South Korea and then on to Japan. Back to Japan for the 5th time, I already missed it. 🙂 A few years ago I also flew from Haneda Airport to London with JAL.
    My favorite airline.
I had an economy ticket but managed to upgraded to a premium economy seat ticket at the airport for £200.
It was a gift for that money. When were you in Japan, when was this video made?

  6. Possibly a controversial question but who do you think does the best egg sando – 7/11, Lawson, or family mart ?

  7. Thanks for showing us around Haneda T3.
I've been there around 4 times and never really walked around the terminal properly. It's good to know there is a konbini at reasonable prices.

  8. Hi, me and my wife have travelled with JAL from HND T3 to HEL in Finland. JAL is a great airline to travel with and we liked their food. We've always travelled to and from HND T3 when visiting Tokyo. It's an easy transfer to Ariake, our favorite place to stay in Tokyo, we usuall take the Monorail to Tennozu Isle Station and switch to Rinkai Line for Kokusai Tenjijo Station in Ariake. Tenkubashi Station sounds familiar, ok that's the station I travel to when I'm going to see Band-Maid play at Zepp Haneda concert venue. Several lines meet in Tenkubashi, the Monorail and Keikyu Airport Line have stations there. HND T3 looks so familiar🙂 We're going to Tokyo on May 2nd, travelling with SAS from CPH to HND T3, can't wait to go back to Japan. It's been a year since last time, way to long IMHO 🙂 We usually get rid of all our coins in the vending machines before we leave. Gates 140-149 feels like home, walked past there many times. We've travelled with Finnair, SAS, ANA, JAL, all flying out of that part of the terminal.

  9. I've been keeping an eye on the GBP to JPY, your conversions seem a bit high. Atm, its £1 to 0.046yen, so 100Yen is 50p call it.
Im soooo looking forward to going in a few months time 😁🥳 Thanks for the heads up about the 7 11 at Haneda, think I'll stock up with kitkats there 😉👍

  10. Wonderful video, brings back the happy memories.

I did the same journey to Haneda when I flew back to London couple years ago. I got the Pokemon Tokyo Bananas too! Which everyone I gave them to in the UK absolutely adored! Also got a Pocari Sweat from the machines. That "cafe rage" was VERY slow to make a sandwich though. Good 20mins+ And I didn't know about the 7/11 on site. So didn't get the Kit-Kats I wanted.

  11. i regret not going to these places when i was in Japan last year.
hopefully ill visit again this November.

  12. 4:38 The Vegan Friendly Tokyo has one of the best vegan Curry pan in Japan, we always get one to numb the sorrow while leaving Japan lol

  13. All those vending machines seem to be a good place to get rid of your left over 10 Yen coins 😊

  14. Agreed, it’s always a good idea to have one more Pocari Sweat before getting on the plane. I’m hoping to fly in or out of Haneda airport on my next trip to Japan. Definitely rooting to be at terminal three.
It’s interesting that that cool looking Edo area is before going through security. I would love to be able to check out that area in person, if I do fly out of Haneda, but since I’m always anxious about going through security, I always try to get that out of the way first. 🤷‍♂️
