Welcome to Prefecture 7 of 47! 🇯🇵
I am originally from Nepal 🇳🇵, and my biggest dream during my time living in Japan is to explore all 47 prefectures before I eventually return to my home country. This vlog marks Prefecture 7 of 47 in that ongoing Dream Series, and it is the First Episode of our journey through this historic region Hiroshima.
In this video, we dive into the theme of “Hiroshima: Then and Now.” I start the vlog by sharing a little bit of the history behind the city—explaining the tragic events of 1945 and why Hiroshima was bombed. Visiting the Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome) was a deeply emotional experience that truly makes you understand the weight of the past.
But Hiroshima today is also a city of incredible resilience and beauty. We explore how it has transformed into a vibrant “City of Peace.” From the iconic floating Torii gate at Miyajima to the bustling daily activities on the streets, the contrast is truly “Unforgettable.” We also dive into the local culture, riding the historic streetcars and tasting the famous Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki!
