Japan is sakura season, but today is cloudy.

So I made happy happy takikomi gohan breakfast.

Very happy. Very yummy.

Takikomi gohan, kombu, clear soup, and homemade yogurt.

Do people eat rice like this where you live?

    It looks like a great breakfast! I’m curious about happy happy takikomi gohan, is there anything special with it? Do you have a recipe? (日本語でも全然大丈夫だですよ〜)

    In Sweden and Scandinavia, I’ve never heard of a rice dish like Takikomi gohan. And never for breakfast.. My friends think I’m weird because I eat TKG or rice for breakfast 😆

    There are several mixed rice dishes where I live, but with a different flavor profile:

    * Dirty Rice
    * Jambalaya
    * Palau
    * Vegetable Rice pilaf
    * Wild rice Salad
    * Since America is a mixture of different cultures, many of our dishes originated elsewhere.
