Nothing beats Mehari-zushi after a night of drinks! π»
"Mehari" literally means "to open one's eyes wide." Itβs said the name comes from the way people have to open their eyes wide to take a big bite of these oversized rice balls wrapped in pickled mustard green leaves. π₯¬β¨

I had mehari-zushi once in Wakayama after a long hike through the mountains. It was the only thing we could buy at the time, as everything closed early around 3pm. It was refreshing and delicious (add a few beers) at the time. I still think about it to this day and can’t wait to find a closer source of this delicious item.
Wow, Iβve never heard of these. Thanks!
Kinda reminds me of waraq enab (stuffed vine leaves)
