Is Mt. Fuji Beginner-Friendly? 🗻 How to Hike & Skip the Crowds

We hiked Mt. Fuji in Japan 🗻 via the Subashiri Trail without a guide and it was an adventure of a lifetime! ✨

Instead of rushing in one day, we spent 2 nights on the mountain so we could rest, acclimate, and catch the magical Mt. Fuji sunrise 🌅.
The Subashiri trail is less crowded than the popular Yoshida trail, but it’s more challenging with steep volcanic sand and rocky paths. If you’re planning to hike Mt. Fuji:
✅ Book your mountain hut early (they get full fast!)
✅ Know that you need to register in advance + pay the new ¥4,000 entrance fee
✅ Remember you can’t start after 2PM if you’re doing it in a day
✅ Pack warm clothes, it’s freezing at the summit even in summer! 🥶
Climbing Mount Fuji was tough but 100% worth it. Reaching the summit and watching the sunrise above the clouds is something I’ll never forget.

    I took Yoshida trail 12 years ago and the weather was sooooo bad. It is so dangerous to do it unprepared. Def. not for beginners.

    I also climbed Fuji-san via Fujinomiya and descended via Gotemba! The descend was far more difficult! Made a lot of friends as I went up hahaha Filipino hospitality 😂
