On the 16th, Nippon-Ham Baseball Club announced that Nippon-Ham Headquarters, which was the largest shareholder, had acquired all of Nippon-Ham Club’s shares, making Nippon-Ham Club a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon-Ham Headquarters.
The team released a statement saying, “Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Masaru Komura) would like to announce that on March 13th (Friday), Nippon-Ham Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka City; President and CEO: Nobuhisa Igawa), our largest shareholder, acquired all of our shares. We will now be a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon-Ham Co., Ltd.”
According to the documents, Nippon-Ham ‘s headquarters held 2,960 shares, or 76%, before the acquisition. Previously, Sapporo Dome, Hokkaido Shimbun, Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hokkaido Railway Company, Hokuyo Bank, Hokkaido Bank, Hokkaido Electric Power Company, Hokkaido Gas, Sapporo Beer, and Hokuren Agricultural Cooperative Federation held a combined 1,040 shares, or 24%, of the company.
