Toji Temple Walk | 4K Kyoto Japanese Garden Tour 2025

Join me for a walk through Tō-ji Temple in southern Kyoto, best known for its five-storey pagoda, the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan. Located a short walk from Kyoto Station, Tō-ji is easy to reach, yet it offers a slower pace than many of the city’s more central temple sites.

In today’s 4K walk with commentary, we move through the temple grounds, taking in the open courtyard, the pagoda, the lecture hall, and the surrounding green spaces. Along the way, I share a few observations on the garden and grounds.

If you’re planning garden visits in Tokyo or looking for places beyond the usual central spots, this walk gives you a clear idea of what to expect and how the garden is structured.
