I recorded everything I spent in Japan on food, trains and entrance fees, over two trips: one just to Tokyo, and the other to Tokyo and Gifu. Compared to the UK, USA and western Europe, food in Japan is much cheaper. In the video I show you how much it costs for breakfast, lunch and dinner at various restaurants in Tokyo and around Japan, with actual prices and what I paid, including conveyor belt sushi, ramen, soba noodles, tempura and lots more. I’ll also show you how expensive drinks are at vending machines and the convenience store, plus snacks like ice cream, and some prices at Tokyo Disney. I’ll include the cheapest and most expensive meals, and also mention the worst meal I’ve had in Japan! I hope it helps you work out how much money you’ll need for food in your Japan trip budget.
