Food is as affordable as it is edible at Osaka, writes Joris Minne

We in the frosty north are renowned for our warmth and hospitality. It’s a tiny bit cringey when Tourism NI tells us how friendly visitors think we are, but there you go. People like coming here and as long as they do we should be nice to them. Coupled to this reputation is the quality of our food. This is much less cringey because many of our growers and producers are head and shoulders above our neighbours in the south or across the water in terms of sustainability and responsibility.

There is a problem with industrial food production whose effluent is choking our rivers and lakes and most famously, Lough Neagh, something which has been reported on these pages by my colleague Sam McBride.
