  1. Don't go to Shibuya. Crowded AF. Good food is always available in Tokyo. Explore Setagaya or Yokohama instead.

  2. I would recommend the monkey park in Arashiama, Kyoto over the bamboo forest: the climb can be a bit daunting (take water) but the monkeys and the views are worth it. And don't miss the kimono forest after dark.

  3. Great video as always!! Lots to get inspired by. I will be there for 3 weeks in April as a solo traveller and and so excited!

  4. Shizuka is always really good at doing thoughtful descriptions of what a dish tastes like, as well as the experience it evokes!

  5. I'm excited for the Snow Festival next month but I wonder how much I will face plant into the ice/snow because the last time I was there, I ate it real bad on the black ice XD.

  6. hmm… wish is wasn't so far from eastern Canada, a 2-week itinerary looks so compact, but every moment is maximized for enjoyment… πŸ™

  7. I would love to see you guys do Japan by cruise, my boyfriend and I are looking into the trip and want to cruise but incorporating Tokyo Disney and the race tracks in Japan

  8. This is probably not bad if you know nothing about Japan. But honestly, for me, it is funnelling people into the most crowded spots. I do think these places have some relevance and right to be on somebody's travel itenerary, still I'd try to go through these places as fast as possible to visit other spots that are not as crowded. Especially Kyoto is a place i'd recommend to avoid, or do in one day/ two nights max. I have been three times to Kyoto and it has never been a real good time. It's probably my least favourite place in Japan.

  9. I visited Japan, but ultimately spent most of the trip hiding under a table in Osaka. Wonderful place nonetheless.
