Public baths and hot springs are one of the highlights of a trip to Japan.
Many tourists visit to enjoy hot springs with beautiful scenery — but bathing culture isn’t just for visitors.
We Japanese genuinely love taking baths, and public bathhouses have been part of our culture for hundreds of years.
In this video, I’ll show you a type of public bath and spa that locals regularly go to, but many tourists don’t know about: super sento.

No nudity? 🙁 lol
Please keep going, I love you so much!
You deserve more!
I was there in early December. Such a great sento. The video doesn’t mention it, but they also offer massages, with steep discounts if you show up outside the busy hours. I got a really good 90-minute massage for under $70, which is a steal. They also never close (there’s a surcharge after 3 a.m.), so next time I have a layover in Japan, I’ll just spend the night there instead of booking a hotel—much cheaper and far more enjoyable!
Your videos are very entertaining, keep it up!
It helps me learn about other cultures. Thank you.💗
You're the best, Wes! ❤
見てるだけで温泉に入った気持ちになる!
Great video. Thanks. I love Japan and have been to many onsens there on my 3 visits….but I have never been to a Super Sento. Must do this the next time.
been following for a few years, your content has consistently been very high quality, i’m always impressed 🙂 love the channel
you are so cute.
Very good video and well explained. But I still think it would be best for a foreigner to visit with a Japanese friend for help with the signs and to avoid mistakes. But it looks like good fun!
