5 Days in Wakayama — The Perfect Off-the-Beaten Path Road Trip from Osaka

#wakayama #kumanokodo #nachifalls

Just an hour south of Osaka lies Wakayama, the southern point of the Kii Peninsula, a land steeped in spirituality and natural beauty. Despite its proximity to the second most visited city in all of Japan, Wakayama offers a perfect off the beaten path experience for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. Over 5 days, we road tripped from the temples of Koyasan on one end of the prefecture, along the rugged coastlines, finishing off at the Kumano Kodo’s center, Hongu Taisha. Stops were made in between to soak in one of Japan’s top onsens, to walk in the footsteps of pilgrims on the Kumano Kodo, and to witness the power of Japan’s highest waterfall, Nachi Falls.

  1. Finally. People shall know where those wallpapers come from. First and probably the best video of this year ❤️✨

  2. Your framing for the individual scenes is always so on point. I tried to imitate it in Nov when I was there and failed miserably. Great stuff

Edit: what tripod setup are you using?
