Winter In Japan Day 2 | Kyoto: Nishiki Market, Nintendo Store, Illuminating Staircase, and more!

We were waiting for you to order your food. I heard some guy go like these streets. You know, I walk through this and I’m like, “Wow, Asia.” Hi. Today’s agenda is Shiki Market brunch. Okay, we’re just looking for the exit. So, yeah, our first stop for the day was Nishiki Market. And as usual, we’re using Google Maps to find our way there because, guys, Google Maps in Japan in general, it’s just super duper convenient. It’s three stations away from Kyoto station and a bit of a walk. We got to the market at around 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning, and there were still a lot of shops who haven’t began opening yet. So, a bunch of closed stalls here and there. I was especially excited for this because in our past trips to Japan, we made a trip to go to Toyosu Market to Kawagi to eat some street food and I honestly found a lot of the eats that became my favorites after that. So, yeah, there’s quite a variation of food here. Honestly, it’s a pretty long street and it kind of splits into even more pathways like side roads at the end. And basically my suggestion for you is you go from start to finish. Like look at all of the food first and then try to decide which ones you want to get and then come back for them later on. Especially if you’re like me and my mom who don’t exactly eat a lot of food. So we weren’t filling up too fast and we were really deciding on which ones we wanted to get and also so you know we could compare and everything. Oh my god, there’s a dog. I usually don’t eat spicy but that was good. Oh, tempura. Another beef. Tempura. I don’t think we should try that. Mama sake ta sake. You might want to try and vlog. Mamaya. I’m I’m figuring out ano pa. It’s some fancy stuff, bro. Oh, the one with cheese. Elo down. [Music] Mommy, look. Oh, so cute. Yeah, let’s get for ate some ta save kang. This one looks like so my mom really wanted some eel. So we found this place to sit down for lunch and she ordered some eel. I think I ordered some salmon. It was okay. Honestly, nothing too spectacular. I realized later on that this market, I guess it’s good if you’re already in the area or it’s on the way, but the food wasn’t like it wasn’t wow, you know? So, I was kind of a little disappointed and sad. I mean, not that it was bad and it was good n man. It’s really just like I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this market specifically. [Music] Thank you. 500. So that’s like 950 pesos now coobe beef skewer. Not bad. The the croet n Wagyu na coobe beef is like around 150 pesos more or less. Ooh, sizzling. [Music] Oh wow. Going to burn on all sides. Thank you. I think we have to eat it in front, right? Oh, that smells so good. Wait. Can you even bite it? Mhm. Okay. It was good talaga beef non. I’m not sure actually l if it was legit authentic beef wagu cuz it wasn’t super melt in your mouth but it’s okay of my TMJ. But it’s soft and like for the price comparable to some of the more expensive waguay in the Philippines. Wagu melts like literally melt. This one doesn’t melt fast. Compared to the one we eat, it’s more grilled. Mhm. I think halusha like potentially my halala ng ano Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very like perhaps they’re both how to say marbling. Yeah, guys. Giant castas. So just as good. Yeah. So it’s like 11:40 and the other stops palang sila nag open. Yeah. No per like the general ano like more of them open around 12 cuz like a while ago if you came here 9 but then a lot of the stores were still closed. Interesting food. overwhelmed. We tried this honey back in Tokyo. It’s actually good. Tastes better when you’re eating it here in Japan though. But yeah, masar ice cream may honey. Yeah. Let’s go in the sty. Oh my god. So cute. Woodstick nest. Sweet shop. Satas. Oh, it’s a Snoopy cheesecake. Oh my god. This one comes with a stuffed toy. [Music] P caramel bars. Ataun biscuit. No more parfait. So cute. Regalo na Snoopy. Oh my god, there’s more Snoopy. This one looks like Evo. Mommy, color Snoopy. Look, it’s Evo. It’s Evo. It’s a pink Snoopy. Google Translate. You need to any product though. Yeah. Mommy stamps. If you can get ganon format, you need to buy something else. You live and you learn. Yay. Cute. That’s a snowy terrarium. Uh, Snoopy yakiatsu. Yeah. Got a Snoopy yaki. We got a Snoopyaki. [Music] custard per lang manu mangju per cute lang beef tempura are you getting oh it’s actually crunchy though sounds soft we can buy that’s a retrieve favor. I know there’s no proper space. Debating if I should I’m debating if I should get a dango already or not. You’re buying something for the dog because the dog. Okay, we’re going back for some matcha. Um matcha latte watu. Um iced um strawberry with cream to Yeah, I think it was I think it’s mass produced. Yay. So yeah, this was one of the places that when we went into the market, it immediately got our attention and we said we would come back for it later on. This is also my first matcha of the trip. I like how it’s super cute and aesthetic here. also so nice for the photos. And guys, they have their own designated bathroom. So that’s super duper convenient. And of course, they have seats. So tastes like matcha bubbly. So juicy. So fun fact, I like strawberries. unrelated food poisoning from another restaurant. So after eating all the strawberries, I have to go through the trauma phase every time. Strawberry. It is It’s a mochi ice cream. It’s so good. I did it. I did it. Is it an ice cream? Is it a cream? I think it’s a cream. Consistency cream ice cream. It’s almost like whipped cream ice cream. Literal cream. So, we’re just walking. We’re trying to get to Gon. Apparently, none of us had a map open and we just you you know that meme, the blind following the blind. So, that was us. So, now we’re walking in the right direction cuz a while ago we saw Toker instead of mountains. Yeah, we almost walked all the way home. So, we had to walk back. That was an extra 26 minutes. The blind leading the blind, guys. What is this thing? Dad na takana. Okay, we’re going to make a quick We’re going to make a quick over at Disney cuz we’re going to look for Kyoto. Mommy pink bear. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. [Music] Mommy pink bear. Okay. Getting Yeah. [Music] How cute. You can dress up your bear. Mar. Oh my god. It’s a bag. It’s a Mari bag. Okay. We’re getting and poo bear. Pan. Okay, we got the pusan and the naran. Every time I go to Jan, I always come home with a bunch of plushies. So, we’re starting now. Got the pink and the maru. [Music] And it’s cute actually for one of my bags. Yeah, I think so. Okay, done. Oh, this is so cute. Also, no. But I don’t think they have any Kyoto limited. Na ano? Yeah, apparently they don’t have Kyoto Limited now stuffies, so I’m good. Thank you. Okay, so I forgot to cash in and I was like, “Oh my god.” Right. Rate G-Cash here. Like it’s real time update. So I was like, “Give me a second because I need to update my G-Cash.” So it rejected the first time. cash in then. Okay. So, hooray. Thank you, GCash. Thank you, Gcash. Actually, I was trying to look for my G-cash QR from BPI and extra tax. I don’t want to pay in cash for like street food. Yeah, anganda rate gash. So like Yeah. So we got our three our two march and one fusan. Happy happy. Back to when you say mar chan I really think of something else. Okay. Back to the main the main quest. Oh. Oh my. It’s quaint. It’s quaint. This is one of the places we could also visit. A little cuter of an area. Yeah, it’s more vibes. I hit you like bang here. We’re here by the river and they’re having like um a flower festival mini thing. Really cute. There’s lots of flowers here. The highlight, however, is we saw that they have a Oh my god, that’s so pretty. The highlight is that we saw they have a community cat somewhere here. I don’t know where it is. So, might not be here right now. Look at this. Mommy, look at this. So, so pretty. So, that’s Gon and there is so much people like it’s such a crowded. That’s not it. Gon. Okay, that’s on the way to Gon and it’s like a crowded street. Crazy. So yeah, Gong was too crowded. So we went to our next quest which was to go to the Nintendo store here in Kyoto. Me and my brother of course were taking lots of photos. There’s something in my eye and it’s still not out. I’m so annoyed right now. Yeah, it’s the contact. This Nintendo store in Kyoto is bigger than the one in Shibuya. And there’s also some more merch I noticed. and some fun photo spots. Oh my god. Oh my god. [Music] When I went to Japan because you could get like custom colors and everything for the price of a regular Switch when you go to the Nintendo store. It’s a super fun, super cute experience. The Switch 2 hasn’t been released at this time, but again, I was still debating. Yes. [Music] Which one is this? Oh, the circular one. That was their special Nintendo store. Gotcha. It’s a really cute experience and it also makes for a great souvenir. But me and my brother got the same thing like two free times and we decided to keep going around and looking at the other things. There were a bunch of cute stuff that you could take home. Although a lot of them I was kind of confused of what they were. So Google translate cute bag. [Music] No 19,800 for a bag [Music] just because it has the Nintendo Kyoto logo. That’s kind of crazy. Oh no, the Animal Crossing is calling. I cannot decide if I will get a switch or not. I say I say I’m going to get a switch and then every time I end up not getting because I deinfluence myself somehow. I’m being deinfluenced by myself. I know, but it’s it’s also 12K. [Music] Oh, can you use your controller? the the controllers are 6,000 yen itself now it’s 8K now okay you’re halfway through the price an okay almost if it’s 8,000 so let’s say 85.9 * 38 29 lang [Music] I don’t know if I’m going to get it or not, y’all. This so cute. And also, I left the store without buying anything. Please be proud of me. Also, cuz the line was kind of long, so I was like, “Eh, never mind. I’ll just wait for the switch, too.” So, we took some cute photos on top and then we went to Guatsu. So cute photos and then a little bit of walking and we got to Guatsu and I was pleasantly surprised because the Guatsu here was so spacious compared to the one we tried in Tokyo, particularly the one by Harajuku. That one was so full and the line was so long, but this was so spacious and it had a good view. I honestly believe that aside from Katsudon, Guatsu is something that you need to eat in before you leave Japan every single trip. Yay, Unilo. Unilo and Ju shopping in Japan is absolutely unmatched. But I had a different goal, guys. There was loft. Okay, we’re in loft. There’s like a lot of stationary and cute stuff here, but there’s also a lot of makeup. So, we’re going to look for those. Look at the stickers. I want to look at the makeup first cuz that’s where I’m going to take a long time. And there’s a lot of cute and cool items here in Loft, but I mainly go here for the cute stationery, the cute souvenirs, and of course, the makeup cuz a lot of the latest and trendy releases tend to be here. So, I spend a lot of time here. Anyways, after all that, we went back to Kyoto Station to check out the famous illuminated stairs. And if you have a fear of fights, just don’t look down. You get some really fun music and the patterns keep changing over time. Was really great. But meala, I’m not going to lie to you. One thing we wish we knew though is that there’s actually a passageway of stairs on the side. So that’s a little less scary. It’s a little less. And that’s actually where we passed after was literally an escalator. And if you look down, you know, your heart goes to your throat. And when we got down, we made our way to Donkeyote. And guys, prepare to spend a lot of time and maybe a lot of money in Doniote. Um, I first looked at all of the Pokémon merch and I saw these really cute bags. So, I saw this Eevee bag and I got Alex a Charmander bag. There’s no Oh my god. This No way. No way. I don’t know how much this is, but we are taking I wasn’t able to record now cuz I bought a lot of stuff from Oh my god. Okay, took a picture of a random one and it was a perfect one. We’re taking her. Look what I just found. If you guys don’t know, this is like my ultra ultra ultra ultra favorite flavor of all time. This is my super favorite. So, I’m going to hoard. Okay, I think they still have money, but yeah. Oh, got to got to dial back. Honestly, I feel like I’m like not yet in super spending mode cuz we just got here. So, yeah. I think I will be super spending mode. It’s like it hasn’t sunk in like before in the price 1,000 pesos. Wow. lucky 100 is like 380 pesos still but not as lucky as parakala the feeling as my kua’s favorite Pokémon get in case you want so 50 actually I’m going to make sure like that’s what Google translates for guys don’t overspend above the budget actually I have like a budget nano but it’s taking some time to like sink in I kind of want to get more Kit Kat just cuz this is my favorite. Wait, let me compute that again. It was in this trip that I found out that the KitKat I love is limited to Donkeyote only. I’ll get seven cuz seven is lucky an KitKat Kit Kat. Okay. It’s ano cherry blossom soybean. Then of course a long line at checkout even if it was like 12 midnight. And that was it for Kyoto. So tomorrow we’re going to head to Nagoya and I’ll see you guys when that vlog comes up. Thanks for sticking around.

⚡ Day 2 in Kyoto where we hit up Nishiki Market expecting some amazing street food, then got absolutely lost trying to find our way around (the blind leading the blind, guys). We went through some traditional streets as well as the Disney Store on the way to Gion but the crowd was insane. We ended up at the Nintendo Store where I almost bought a Switch (but didn’t…again) devoured some Gyukatsu and finally headed back to Kyoto Station to check out the famous illuminated stairs before finishing the night at Don Quijote where my favorite KitKat flavor was along with so much shopping. Awesome time in Kyoto! Next vid, we hit up Nagoya!
