Shinkansen – A ride on Japan’s Iconic Train from Nagoya to Kyoto plus buying tickets etc.
hello welcome back to my channel so join me today as I take the famous Japanese bullet train the shinin from here at ngoya station to Kyoto I will be showing you where to buy the tickets from and the direction that you need to take to get to the platform and of course we will be experiencing the actual train ride itself so let’s go in fact up on the second floor there you can already see the train waiting for us so once in the station all you have to do is look up and you will see directional signs for the shinan s so straight ahead is the Jr information center and it was here that I discovered I could not buy a ticket from a machine I had to actually go to the right here line up and get my ticket it took me about 10 15 minutes to queue up communication was no problem I was able to buy a return ticket uh I had to pay a little bit more because the seat was reserved the oneway fair was 5,710 yen so this is where you go in you insert your ticket into the gauge and when it opens you will retrieve it don’t leave it behind so we continue our walk here we go up the escalator to the platform so once on the platform you look up at those information boards and they will indicate uh which platform your train will be departing from so in my case it was the one on the left platform 13 mine was the nozomi 313 so just for information the nozomi makes less stops and gets there faster and here comes our train so it was 10:30 and the train was not that crowded so I mentioned earlier about Reserve uh seats every train currently has got three coaches where there are non-reserved seats so you don’t have to pay that extra however come March 2025 I understand there will be a reduction there will be only two cars that will have non-reserve seats which means U be more difficult to get seats at a cheaper rate the layout here is a 3+2 configuration where else they have a special car called the green car a sort of a first class that one they have a 2+ two Arrangement and you have broader and thicker seats right and so off we go our journey should take about 33 minutes we have about 134 km to cover so that makes it some 260 kilm an hour the uh nozomi train the one that we on right now hits a maximum of about 300 km an hour this train is actually the six version version of the shinan sin the first of course was the one they started it all way back in 1964 and with that’s the one with the bullet like nose and that’s how they began to be called the bullet train this is an oi super Express B ma oaka we will be St K station before arriving at Shin terminal this train is completely so those was are the announcements for the destination of this train and they were also mentioning the placement of luggage here in the shinan Sin if you have very big luggage you are asked to make a reservation before you get your uh tickets and then you have to place your luggage in certain areas the passengers were also reminded to put their phones to silent Moon so that indicates we’re in KH number six and it also shows the positions of the toilets as well as the other facilities and also some safety reminders I’ll be winding up the video soon so thank you so much for watching I do appreciate that if you have any questions please ask in the comments I’ll do my best to answer them as fast as I can so in the next video I plan to walk around the city of Kyoto and amongst other things I plan to go to a shop selling jeans so keep a lookout for that one have a lovely day bye

Nice video thanks for info👍🙏
The train you rode on was a N700A, the series was introduced in 2013. 7:55 is a N700A, 8:00 is a N700S introduced in 2017. There is also the original N700 series (upgraded mid life to N700a) which I rode on introduced in 2007. 3:47 Shinkansen actually means Bullet Train.
Nice video! The train ride is so scenic..👍

what was the reason you couldn't purchase your ticket at the machine?
If I bought the ticket from SmartEX how can I check platform?
