Shirakawa -go is a popular tourist destination in Gifu , very close to the Japanese capital,Tokyo.
[Music] Hello everyone. Welcome back to Revealing Japan. Today we’re in this wonderful village called Shiraakala. Shiraakalago. I’m sure I’ve all heard of this place as it’s a very very important hot spot for tourists in Japan. Anyway, follow me on. [Applause] So, if you’re watching this video, I’m pretty sure you already know where we are right now. We’re in Gefu Prefecture in Shiaalago. This is one of the most beautiful places you can find in GE, right? It has been even um registered as a world heritage place by UNESCO. And uh why is that? Because it appears as if time just stopped in this little house over here, right? They were made about 300 to 400 years ago and they’d have been kept and maintained on their original um state, right? Very very, you know, astonish. It’s full of nature. here like surrounded by the mountains as you can see. And I don’t know, just check it out with me. Look at all this people all from all from over the world just to see what Shakawa is all about. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I’m telling you guys, you would never believe what kind of spots we have in GeF. I was in Kilto the other day. It was sort of a lot of foreigners and a lot of new places, interesting places, doing temples, all this and that, but this is just a different level. It’s just this kind of like rural thing that you just need to come to actually appreciate. Look at that. That thing over there that you know that hasn’t been touched in centuries just looks like time stopped in this area. [Music] One of the great things about GeFu is how easy it is to get around. The region boasts a well-developed transportation network that makes exploring its many attractions a breeze. Whether you prefer to travel by car, bus, or train, you’ll find that yu is incredibly accessible. Look at these. All of these is sake from from it’s a very very very thick and cloudy sake that they only sell over here. Uh you can watch our sake video on YouTube channel, but uh this is where everything originated from. Not the walk. Find a variety of interesting chocolates. Look at that. Oh, it’s a very interesting place to be. [Music] It’s just interesting how everything’s modernized while still keeping everything as it was 300 years ago. If you’re driving, Gifus roads are well-maintained and clearly sickness, making it straightforward to navigate between cities and scenic spots. For those who prefer public transport, the bus system is extensive and reliable, covering even the more remote areas. Plus, the J to Japan railways lines provide convenient train services that connect GEU with major cities like Nagoya and beyond. This efficient transportation network ensures you can comfortably visit all the must-sea destinations without hassle. Kifu City and Inuim are much closer to popular tourist destinations like Kyoto and Shiraawo than you might think. For example, the distance from Tokyo to Geeku City is roughly equivalent to the distance from Houston to Dallas, a well-known city in my home state of Texas. To put it another way, getting from Kyoto to GeForama to GeFu City takes about a quarter of the time it takes to travel from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. [Music]
