Everything I Ate In Eritrea

Here’s everything I ate on my 3-day trip to Eratria. And try to guess which dish gave me food poisoning. Number one, a macchiato and a local pizza for breakfast. I walked into this random coffee shop and man, it was so good. Number two, beans and hummus for lunch. And a bunch of other stuff, too. Number three, fresh oranges, which are almost as sweet as a feeling I get when you subscribe. Number four, gelato ice cream because Iritria was once an Italian colony and the gelato still stand strong. So good. Number five, ginger coffee made by this sweet lady inside of her house. Number six, tea and peanuts. This was at the busy animal market where I made some new local friends. Good peanuts. Number seven, the baobob tree fruit. These trees only exist in Africa and the fruit is really good. It’s like sour. Number eight, sour yogurt. Oh, it’s really thick. Number nine, inera with meat. One of my favorite meals in Ethiopia and Ertria.

  1. I think it’s between the pizza & macchiato (bc of the way you sounded when you brought up that pizza… almost a gurgle out of disgust from unwanted flashbacks that you nevertheless tried to stomach/an almost gag or barf)
Or the tea & peanuts (only bc you showed that friend’s face IMMEDIAAAAAATELY 😩😩😩 after you asked us the question i.e. which one gave u food poisoning

  2. I have to ask, why do you say they have gelato because they were an italian colony, literally the entire planet has gelato

  4. We have Baobao tree in Sudan. We call its fruit gongolaise or tabaldi. Just think of it as tamarind but it is milder. We can use it to make juice or we can add sugar or salt and spices.

  5. Im gonna guess it was the hummus or yogurt 😅 I’ve had bad luck with uncooked dips and sauces in foreign countries 😂

  7. Dude you should have to actually try pizza and go to Ararat or like lion hotel if it isn’t closed but Asmara pizza is 10 out of 10 probably the best pizza I have ever tried

  8. Dishes and glasses rinsed with unclean water, not thoroughly washed. Absolutely. (And the meat dish if it sat around for hours after cooking.)
