Waking Up Early for Yasaka Pagoda Kyoto | Worth It 🏯

We visited Yasaka Pagoda (Hōkan-ji Temple) in Kyoto early in the morning, hoping for a quiet, picture-perfect moment. We arrived around 6am… only to realize everyone else had the same idea. This was a true case of Instagram vs reality.

Still, seeing this historic pagoda up close was worth it. Yasaka Pagoda is one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks. Originally built in the 6th century and rebuilt in the 15th century, this five-story pagoda has become a symbol of the city’s history and culture. The area around it is also a favorite spot for travelers and photographers, making it one of the most photographed places in Kyoto.

Even with the crowds, walking toward the pagoda and taking in its beauty was unforgettable.
