►Here’s a look at the Joetsu Shinkansen – a double decker high-speed shinkansen railway line, connecting Tokyo and Niigata. It’s also known as the MAX Toki Shinkansen, and it was taken into service in 2001.
Being a mammoth among trains, it travels at relatively low speeds compared to other Shinkansen trains, with a maximum speed of 240 kmp/h (150 mp/h) It offers great views from the 2nd. floor seatings.
I filmed this traveling from Tokyo to Kumagaya in Saitama, so it’s a bit of Kumagaya Station you’ll see near the end of the video, not Niigata. – Enjoy!
