If you’re going to Is it don’t drive, take this train instead. It’s called Rico and it takes you straight from Tokyo to IU. You can hop on from the Tokyo station or Shinjuku and it learns all the way to Shimoda or Shuenji with no transfers. The ride is about 2 and 1/2 hours. And once you pass atami, the ocean view hits the watching Tokyo slowly fade into the seaside dream. There are two types of odoro. The regular one and the safereico. The regular odoro already feels super nice. dessert seat, comfy chair, big windows. But the safico, that’s the luxury version. All first class panamic windows, gliding seat, and even a coffee car that serves drink and dessert. If you have a jail pass, the regular oiko is covered with the sea visation.
