Japan Trip Day One | Travel Day with Delta One!
[Music] Hi friends and welcome back to Dreaming Upming. Today’s video starts my new daily vlog series for my most recent trip to Japan. My fun adventures back to Japan start with a grand experience with Delta Airlines and a Delta 1 seat. It is such a surreal way to travel. Today I will share with you my incredible meals during my flight and share with you my overall trip experience with Delta Airlines. The lie down seat in Delta 1 makes such a huge difference when traveling on such a long haul flight, especially when I had meetings the next day. I feel so blessed for the opportunity to travel and never take a day for granted. This trip will bring tons of trip planning content, Uyasu content, Japanese cuisine content, and of course, Tokyo Disney content. So, be sure to subscribe and check out all my vlogs from this trip. I’m so happy you’re joining me today and I can’t wait to share my adventures with you as I venture back to Japan and the Tokyo Disney Resort. Hi friends and long time no see. You may recognize where I am. I’m currently in the Delta Sky Club here at the Orlando International Airport because I am on my way yet again to Uriasu and to Tokyo Disney Resort. I am so excited. Hopefully you can hear me. Okay, I’m trying to be respectful, not too loud in the area right now since there’s other business travelers with me as well. But I do have exciting news. This trip, I will again be teaming up with the Uryasu Tourism Convention Association, and I’ll be reviewing a new resort, as well as revisiting another resort I previously visited just to explore some more offerings that they have at their hotel. And at the end of the trip, I will be adding on four days at the Tokyo Disney Resort. So, I will have the vacation package this time again, but this time I’ll be staying at the Disney Ambassador Hotel, which is a totally new hotel to me. It’s their first hotel actually at the Tokyo Disney Resort, which is exciting. And I believe it was the same designers as the u designers of the Yacht and Beach Club here at Walt Disney World. So, I’m really excited to explore that resort, give you all the details of my vacation package. I did add on two nights to that resort as well. Also, I have the vacation package and an additional two nights. So, I will be four nights at the Ambassador Hotel. Um, as well on this trip, I’ll be exploring a beautiful university that you’ll see soon in Ryasu that’s based off of tourism similar to the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at University of Central Florida, which is where I graduated from. So, I’ll be visiting the local college, maybe some local eeries, just exploring Uriasu in general, and maybe some um extracurricular, you know, tourism activities that are nearby. So, look forward to tons and tons of content on this trip. I am so excited. Um, I just want to also say thank you to my wonderful parents, to my wonderful in-laws, to my husband for everyone being so supportive of me going on this trip because everyone has helped me so much. Whether it be watching the kids, taking off time from work. I’m just very appreciative for such a strong village that I have. Um, but also, um, this trip I will be flying Delta 1 on the way there and then on the way back. Right now it is planned to do premium slag, but we’ll see what happens because I did earn some credits because Delta really messed me up today. Um, so yesterday I checked in for my flight at 700 a.m. like on the dot like 24 hours for my flight and then I got this text like 2 hours later saying, “Sorry, we’ve now moved your Delta 1 to a premium select seat because aircraft changed.” Which was crazy because I was in 6D. So, you would think if the aircraft size changed, it would be like the rows that were depleted from the smaller aircraft that would have been moved, but no. So, they moved me from Delta 1 to Premier Slick, which I know is first world problems, but I did pay for the seat. So, um I had to call them. I was on the phone for an hour. Shout out to um the supervisor Axel over at Atlanta because he talked with me for an hour. We figured it all out. So now instead of going to Atlanta with a longer layover, which I like, but um I am now flying to LAX with a short layover. So I have to run off that plane really fast and let them know that I have a tight connection and then I’ll be flying from LAX to Haneda at that point. So they kind of really scared me on this one and pulled a Rule 180. But luckily I did get my Delta 1 seat. I’m actually in 6D again, which is kind of crazy. So very excited. I will be very happy once I’m on the plane at LAX to Haneda because then I know I made the plane and I’m on my way there because there’s so much planned. I do not want to be late. And I’m really hoping that my suitcases make it there as well. Um so again, this time I won’t be able to show the Delta Sky Club LA, but hopefully on the way home I do go through Atlanta, I’ll be able to show the Delta Sky Club that way. But my goal is to show the difference between Delta 1 and Premium Select on your Haneda trip from MCO airport here in Orlando and give you an idea of maybe what you want to do on your next trip, whether it be a Delta 1 seat lay down or a premium select seat. But we’ll see at the end. I should be a premium select on the way home. But if I have that credit and maybe they’ll let me upgrade to Delta 1, we’ll see. It’ll be a surprise. Anyways, let’s get this day started. It’s a beautiful day. I’m going to grab some snacks here at the Delta Sky Club and get my day started and head over to my gate. Most likely I will catch up with you guys at LAX on my Delta 1 flight to Haneda. Um cuz I’ll most likely be running from the LAX flight to the one that’s heading towards Japan. Um but until then, be sure to subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already and hit the bell icon to be notified of my next video upload from this amazing trip. I will have a daily vlog series. There’s going to be so much information and content coming your way, but I’ll catch up with you guys in just a minute. Well, folks, I made it safe and sound. It was quite a little run, but we made it just enough time. Luckily, because the first flight was delayed by like 20 minutes, so I was like gritting my teeth, biting my nails. I was so scared I wouldn’t make it. But I made it here just in time for my sparkling champagne. The seats here, it’s just it’s life-changing. I absolutely love the seats. They turn into full beds. You get all these wonderful amenities. It’s a blessing, especially on these super duper long flights. So, I highly recommend if you are able to afford it, if you have points to use, if anything, try your best to do the Delta one. Sometimes you can find really good deals and sometimes you can use points for upgrades from like Comfort Plus. Like this time, we did an upgrade with cash from Comfort Plus and it was amazing. So, cheers to that. Let’s relax and get this flight started and I’ll catch up with you in just a moment. On today’s flight, they of course have the Japanese menu, which you know I’m going to get. It looks amazing. There is like the appetizer of duck breast with mustard and dashi broth, celery, eggplant, sesame panzoo sauce, green beans, shrimp and asparagus. And then they have the ginger soy braised uh beef short rib with ginger soy sauce, roasted pumpkin, carrots, broccoli, shiakei mushrooms, tiarara rice, and miso soup and Japanese pickles. Now, this is the flight coming out of LAX, but you can always check online with Delta usually the month of or a little bit before and you can see what meals are going to be offered on your long haul flights. And then you can usually pick your meals about seven days prior to departure. For the western menu on this flight, it looks like they are going to have poached shrimp, broccoli, cheddar soup, classic hummus, warm bowls, and then their main course. They have two options on the plane. It’s homestyle turkey meatloaf and baked spinach ricotta rietoni. But then there’s also two other ones that if you order 24 hours in advance, you can get them. If you fall within the 24 hours of like the flight levy, you cannot choose those and you’ll be stuck with one of these two choices for the western menu. Then for dessert, you can choose from an ice cream sundae, a fruit and cheese plate and a caramel swirl cheesecake. I’m definitely going for the ice cream sundae, I think, today because you can choose all of those four toppings or just one of those four toppings. You can create your own little masterpiece. Then upon arrival, we’ll have a choice of like breakfast items kind of I think to get us in the brain wave of being on a different time zone, but we have a choice of cheddar scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt, and a roasted chicken and yuzu kosho. I’m not sure what I’m going to get. None of that sounds really good to me, but I’ll surprise you with my choice uh later on in this flight. This is only an 11 and a half hour flight from LAX. I’m used to a lot longer hall flights from like Atlanta or Minneapolis or Detroit. So, you get kind of like one less meal because it is a shorter I mean, still 11 hours, but it’s considered a shorter hall than when you’re on the East Coast. What’s also great is they give you an offering of all the uh champagne, the white and rosé, and the reds that they offer on the flight and the dessert wine as well. So they let you know exactly what you are drinking on this flight and it is included with your Delta one as well. I think most alcohol is included on the long haul flights as well. And per usual, you get all the beverages, the Coca-Cola products, ginger ale, all the juices, waters, and then they give you a list of the beers that are available and the spirits as well. I’m probably going to end up getting a vodka ginger ale most likely after having to run from those two gates. But I’m so happy I made it on time. But this is a new thing for me. So, last time I did Delta 1, they didn’t offer this, but they have like a lumbar support, so actually like a mattress pad that we can put on top of our chairs when we do them in bed mode. I brought my own blanket because my mother-in-law gave me the softest, most wonderful blanket. So, I have that with me today. But, it’s going to be fun trying out this new lumbar support today. Chair noted on that card. We got this cute little amenity kit. This is a nice little bag, to be honest. Usually, it’s like kind of like the canvas tote, and I usually just toss it. But this is cute. Let’s see what’s inside. I need to use both hands. Let’s see. Okay, I got it open. It looks like it must be sponsored by Mason. So, this must be product by Mason with Delta. Looks like we got a little eye mask. We got little sockies. How cute. We got a toothbrush, earplugs, a pen. See what is this? Oh, it’s that grown alchemist brand hand cream. And then this a lip balm. And last but not least, we have us some toothpaste. So that’s really awesome that you get these amenities in Delta 1. [Music] [Music] [Music] As with any Delta 1 Airlines flight, you start off with your beautiful mixed drink and the warm mixed nuts. It is a great compliment to just starting your flight. But since I chose a Japanese meal, I did get a hot green tea. And this is the Zenai. So this is the appetizer, which includes a shrimp and asparagus infused with dashi broth and vinegar miso sauce, eggplant and sesame panu sauce with green beans, and duck breast with grain mustard and dashi broth and celery. And it was delicious. Let me tell you, there’s something just unique about eating the cuisine for the place that you’re about to visit that just gets you in the mood to get going. Next, we have our main entree for the Japanese meal, which is the ginger and soy brazed beef short rib with ginger soy sauce with roasted pumpkin, carrots, broccoli, shiakei, mushrooms, and it comes with a tawara rice, which is inside of that paper. It’s so delicious. And we also have our miso soup. And then on the side, we have a Japanese pickled vegetables. They’re hit or miss, but I do like those as just like a little amus to like clean your palette. But that short rib is delicious. I’ve had it prior like 2 years ago, so I knew it was going to be amazing, per usual. And for dessert, I chose the ice cream sundae option, which is cool cuz you have four different toppings you can get between cherry compost, chocolate sauce, cookie crumble, and whipped cream. And I, of course, did the chocolate sauce, cookie crumble, and whipped cream this trip. Oh, it was so delightful. It’s a lovely little midnight snack before they turn off the lights and it’s time to go to sleep. Of course, I did get my caramel bourbon cream to help me sleep. But those lie down seats are life-changing. And before I knew it, it was already time to wake up, but I did have a mimosa with my beautiful granola breakfast. So, this was a Greek yogurt almond granola with berry compost. It was really good. It did come with fresh fruit, and I can say the fruit was actually good and a little muffin with some butter. But all in all, it was a great meal experience with Delta. If you have a chance to fly with Delta 1, I highly, highly recommend it. But here we are now. We have gotten to Japan and looking at the beautiful landscape. I’m going to let you guys go now. But h I’m just so happy to be back. [Music] [Music] Well, folks, I finally made it. I am here in Japan. That was a wonderful flight. Um, of course, with Delta 1, it was incredible. H, it’s just such a great experience. Again, I have to thank my mother-in-law for paying for the upgrade because we found this amazing deal maybe a few months ago where I was comfort plus and they were offering with points or with cash this like crazy great upgrade to Delta 1. So, even with the Delta fiasco of them booting me from one flight, I was able to get another one and it went super smooth. I made my connections. It was just all in all lovely. The flight attendants were wonderful. I’m They’re amazing people. They did their wonderful job. I’m so appreciative of them because I know it is a very hard and very demanding job. But I did get a little snacky snack. I have been dying to try this. So, I have seen these all over Tik Tok, Instagram as like a really fun ice cream snack. My gosh, look. It kind of looks like a waffle. So, like a waffle cone type material. Let’s see. It looks like it’s that same like firm ice cream. So, That’s so good. It kind of reminds me of like a Choco Taco, which they were discontinued my first pregnancy. I had cleaned out our gas station of Choco Tacos because they were discontinued on my first pregnancy with Coraline. But it reminds me of a Choco Taco, but way less messy. So, I highly highly recommend if you see this brand and like any kind of little cooler fridge area, uh, freezer area in the like 7-Eleven, Family Mart, or anything like that, grab one of these, give it a try. I think we’re planning to go get some sushi. So, what I might do, I’m probably not going to vlog cuz it’s a local area um that we’re probably getting sushi at, but I’m going to meet up with my friends, get some sushi, come back to the hotel, probably after visiting either like a 7-Eleven or a Family Mart because I’m going to pick up some breakfast items for tomorrow to eat. So, I will catch up with you in just a moment. Um I’m going to head out with my friends, get some of those snackies, come back, and I will update you with some more of my plans and show you what I’m going to have for breakfast tomorrow as well. And I’m back from a fun night out with my friends. We had a great time. We went to the two wonderful malls that are close by. They’re actually just one stop away from Tokyo Disney on the subway. So, if you’re Tokyo Disney and you have like a late checkout or a late flight, you can always take the subway and just go one stop to visit these two amazing malls. They’re right next door to each other. Um, we went in there because we ate at this amazing little sushi place. I’ll put my sushi here. It was amazing. It was like a regular tuna to like super fatty tuna. Oh my gosh, it melted in your mouth like butter. It was so good. And then we also visited a ramen place. My friend told me it’s like a chain restaurant ramen place. My friend had the miso ramen and then I had the tenatu ramen with soy sauce. It was delicious as always. All the food here is amazing. But yeah, those two malls are great. There’s a lot there. There’s Subway, McDonald’s, Starbucks. There’s milk tea places. There’s a grocery store. There’s stationery stores. There’s like health stores. Anything you can imagine, you can find at these two malls. So, they’re great to visit, especially if it’s like your last day at the Tokyo Disney Resort. You want to go buy some cool souvenirs and cool gifts and put them in your suitcase before you leave vacation. But, uh, before the day ended, we did find a Lost to visit because I wanted to buy some goodies that I’ll show you guys right now. So, for breakfast, I got my tried andrude maple syrup and butter pancakes that I’m going to have for my breakfast tomorrow because I am going to be sleeping in because I am so exhausted. I basically only slept 2 and 1/2 hours on my long haul flight. So, I barely had any sleep for the last like 36 hours. And then I got another new one, which is a salted milk cream sandwich cake topped with a crepe. So, this is one I have never seen before. for. I also got a little discount on it because I think it expires like the day after tomorrow, but looks really interesting and I’m excited to try that one for breakfast. That got tons of other goodies, too. So, let’s see. I got this new Skittles that I’ve never seen before. So, it’s Skittles fruity tea. I’m going to have to use my Google Translate, though, because I do not know the flavors, but I know it doesn’t exist in America, so I wanted to try it here. And I got some gummies, of course. So, we got the sweet and sour pear gummies. And then I also got these orange gummies to try out. We have this what looks like a strawberry cream cake like frosted cracker treat. And my friends recommended this rice cracker to give a try. We have these mini Hi-Chews. I got the very last box, so they must be new. My friends said they’ve never seen it. So, I got these little mini Hi-Chew to try out. I’m sure they’re going to be amazing. The Hi-Chews are so good. And then I also got my favorite little throat candies. So, these aren’t necessarily like for a sore throat, per se, like medical. They’re more of like if you need to moisten your throat like me, because I’m talking so much on this trip, I’m going to need these. But I got so many good stuff. I also got this really cool stuff, this thing that my friend recommended. So, these are like cooling eye patches. So hopefully it’s going to help the huge bags that are currently on my eyes right now as well as just um help me relax. Yeah. Oh, but one more thing, something I always buy when I come to Japan. I always make sure to buy this chapstick. And I know it’s a brand that we have in America, Nivea, but I don’t know why this version of it in Japan is amazing. I always buy like 20 of these. This is just like the basic format of it, but they do have other flavor, smells, all kinds of different stuff. But what’s great about this is it also has SPF in it as well. So, if you ever see these, grab a bunch. They’re amazing. They’re only like 500 yen and some change. So, a must do for me. But I know I’m going to call it a night because I’m so exhausted. We have lots of exciting stuff on the agenda tomorrow. We’re going to visit Mai University, which is sort of like the Rosen College for Hospitality Management, but here in Uryasu. So, we’re going to visit the campus, answer some questions, see what new programs are coming up, um what exchange opportunities there’ll be coming up. So, there may be some exchange programs are going to explain to me. I’m really excited to see the school, see some of the stuff that’s around the school, like activities you can do, restaurants, convenience stores that are nearby, and just give you a glimpse of what it would be like to spend a day on campus at Mai University. But for now, if you can like the video, leave a comment. Be sure to subscribe and hit the bell icon to be notified of my next video upload. And as always, stay bright and colorful, friends, and I will see you in the parks. Bye. [Music]
