[Music] Planning a family trip to Japan during cherry blossom season? Welcome. You have just clicked on the perfect video. In the next few minutes, I will walk you through a familyfriendly Japan tour plan. Here you will get the best time to visit for Sakura, travel and visa basics and three ready itineraries 7, 8 and 10 days that cover Tokyo, Mount Fuji or Hakon, Coyoto, Nara, Osaka and a historic stop in Hiroshima or Miaima. I will tell you where to see the prettiest blossoms, how long each stop takes, and family tips so that you can enjoy every moment. But here’s the big question. With cherry blossoms lasting only a few precious weeks, how do you plan your days to catch the best blossoms and still have familyfriendly sightseeing? Stay till the end to see the ideal dayby-day plan. Japan is a beautiful blend of ancient temples, neat neighborhoods, and techy cities. In spring, the country blooms into pink Sakura, and families gather under blooming trees for picnics. Each city has its own traditions. Tokyo’s first place pop culture and neighborhood parks, Coyoto’s centuries old temples and tea ceremonies, Osaka’s lively food streets and playful spirit. Cherry blossom timing shifts slightly year to year, but for most mainland Japan, late March to midappril is pig sakura in Tokyo, Coyoto, and Osaka. Northern and higher places like Hokkaido, high mountains bloom later. For families, book flights and hotels early. Schools and weekends feel fast. Ready to see how a family can spend those perfect cherry blossom days. Let’s dive into the itineraries. Day one. On the first day of the tour, we landed in Tokyo, collected our JR pass vouchers, and took the airport train to central Tokyo. Here I would like to mention that there are direct flights available from major Indian cities to Japan which takes around 7 to 8 hours. Indian travelers need an e visa to enter Japan that can be applied through VFS Global. After checking in, a gentle starter walk around Yono Park felt perfect. Families with kids flying and long lines of cherry trees were already showing pale pink birds. Yueno Park was created in the 19th century and became one of Tokyo’s first public parks. It’s famous for hanami picnics and family outings. Here you can see Yono Zoo, Tokyo National Museum and the main cherry tree prominent. UNO is 15 to 25 minutes from central Tokyo by metro. The entry to the park is free while the zoo and museum require tickets to enter. Day two, we began the second day with Senoji Temple in Asakusa. Senoji is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Dates to 645 AD. Here we enjoyed the Ricksha rides outside and the colorful Nakamisha shopping street. Nakamisha is a centuries old shopping street that grew around the temple. In the afternoon, we went to Tokyo Skytree for city views. Then we went to Shibuya for the famous scramble crossing and a family dinner. Sumida Park along the Sumida River near Asakusa is lined with Sakura and great for evening strolls. For transport, you may a metro which is available between these spots. Day three. On the third day, we took a guided family busuit to Hakone and Tafuji five legs area at Lake Quaguchi. You can see cherry blossoms with Mount Fuji in the background, an iconic frame. Mount Fuji has been a spiritual symbol of Japan for centuries appearing in art and pilgrimages. We did a short cruise on Lake Ashi, then rode the Hakone ropeway over steaming Wakuani Valley. Hakon’s hot springs have welcomed travelers since Edo times. The entire day tour is of 10 to 12 hours from Tokyo by bus or train. Day four. On the fourth day, we boarded the Shinkansen to Hiroshima which took approximately 4 hours from Tokyo with JR bus. Upon reaching, we took a short ferry to Miaima Island. Miaima has been sacred for centuries. Miaima Shukushima Shrine, a classic Shinto site with its floating tory gate, is atmospheric in bloom season. Back on the mainland, a visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum, which memorizes 1945 events and teaches peace. The main attraction at the Peace Park is the atomic bomb dome, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Day five. On the fifth morning, we took the bullet train to Coyoto, taking around 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours from Hiroshima. Coyoto was Japan’s capital for over a thousand years. In the afternoon, we wandered Gon, the historic Geisha district. Next, we went to Yasaka Shrine, where lantern streets and early cherry trees create a fairy tale evening. Day six. This day we began at Kiomizu Dera. Stunning wooden stage with city or flower views. Kiomizu is a UNESCO site dating to the 8th century. Here we saw the Ottoa waterfall. Next we explored the golden king Kaoji Temple. Then we enjoyed the Philosophers’s Path, a gentle canal walk lined with cherry trees ideal for kids to run and snap photos. Philosophers’s path became famous as a study walk for scholars. In the afternoon, we went to Arashyama Bamboo Grove. Arashyama Bamboo Grove dates back to Japan Sahan period when nobles built villas here for its serene beauty. The whispering bamboo forest was once part of temple lands and symbolizes peace and strength in Japanese culture. Next, we went to the Tendriuji Temple. Tendruji temple founded in 1339 by Shogun Ashikaga Takawji is Coyoto’s first Zen temple and a UNESCO world heritage site famous for its landscape soni garden designed to reflect zen harmony with nature. Day seven. On the seventh morning, we visited Fushimi Inari early to walk the famous Story Gate trails. Free and stroller friendly at the base. Then we took the short train to N for around 45 minutes. Here we visited N Park where cherry trees and friendly deer make for 1 to two hours of family fun. N was Japan’s first permanent capital. reach in ancient Buddhist sites. After completing our Nara park tour, we boarded a train to Osaka which took around 45 minutes to reach the destination. Upon reaching Osaka, we went out in the evening for exploring the lively streets and child-friendly food. day. We spent the morning at Osaka Aquarium Caillou. Then walked the Osaka Castle Park where cherry trees ring the castle mo. Osaka Castle is a symbol of unification in the late 16th century. We spent the evening at Doton Bodhi where we saw neon shines, takoyaki, and familyfriendly casual food stalls. Day nine. This is a relaxed day for families. We enjoyed shopping. Then took a short visit to Tokyo Shinjuku Gon spectacular for blossoms. Retain. On the 10th day, we pack memories, buy last chocolate boxes, and head to the airport. Now, if you have 8 days in hand, skip Hiroshima or Miaima. Saves travel time and keep space familyfriendly. For a 7-day tour, visit Tokyo for 2 days focusing Yueno and Skytree. Then take Mount Fuji or Hakon day trip. Next, visit Coyoto, Kyomizu and Arashyama. And finally, Osaka Doon Buri and Aquarium. But once you have decided your itinerary, the next question is where should you stay for the best experience? Let’s look at the accommodation options for families. We picked practical neighborhoods. In Tokyo, stay at Uno or Asakusa for easy park or metro access. At Coyoto, stay near Gon walkable to temples. At Osaka, Namba or Shinshaiashi is ideal location for food and shops. Family rooms, apartments or royokans work well. Book early for Shakura. Hotels sell out fast. For online booking links, please check the description box below. Now you know where to stay in each city depending on your style and budget. But how do you actually move around? [Music] Seven or 14-day GR pass is great for family shinkans and travel.
