JAPAN AIRLINES BRAND NEW AIRBUS A350-900 (Economy) | Sapporo – Tokyo | Flight Review

Welcome to Sapporo New Chitose airport the gateway to Hokaido island One of the most interesting airport I have ever visited and you will see why Today we are going to fly Japan Airlines new Airbus A350-900 dedicated only to domestic flights Look at the quantity of shops and food counters serving everything from mochis to crabs or fishes I have never seen such offer and never felt such atmosphere in any other airport in the world With all these shops it would be easy to forget that we are about to check in for our flight to Tokyo As most japanese airport, New Chitose airport features a rooftop terrace to watch the aircraft movements Japan is a true avgeek nation and you notice it instantly, the airport has a dedicated aviation museum Let’s now visit the observation desk After passing the security controls we are now airside and have a great view over the different aircrafts This is our Airbus A350-900, the newest addition to JAL’s domestic fleet, serving only flights inside of Japan And this is the Boeing 777-300ER with which I flew from Tokyo just before Premium Economy cabin And here is our Economy class cabin with a 3-3-3 configuration and featuring IFE screens on each seat At the contratry of the 777-300ER and the Airbus A350-1000, there are no Japanese toilets on this aircraft Here we are at our seat for the next hour and a half The legroom is very good especially for a domestic flight Each seat is equipped with PC and USB power port As always in Japan there are a lot of things to read in our seat pocket Even for this short hop JAL provides earphones I like that JAL still provides an on board magazine featuring the network map and fleet informations There is even a map showing the routes taken by different flights over Japan Again the attention to detail is impressive with this video showing where to hold on in case of turbulences By the middle of the flight a drink is served, i chose the hot beef consommé
