112 in Total! Japan’s Largest Retro Vending Machine Rest Area
Today’s video is…. Just relax and enjoy the video! April 5th, 2025 Hey, train race! We are faster hahahhhaahhhahahahahh Yokohama Station, Kanagawa, Japan Today, we are going to the vending machine paradise again which is located about an hour from Yokohama Station(Yokohama Sta. is an hour from Tokyo) It’s actually possible to go there by train but I use a rental car as before Times Car-Sharing Service The largest car-sharing service in Japan It’s basically 220JPY/1.54USD per 15 mins But there are hourly rentals, for example like 6 hours for 4290JPY/30.03USD I booked a Nissan Kei electric car, named “SAKURA” for 6 hour use Let’s not see that From Yokohama Station to “Used Tire Mart Sagamihara”(The vending machine paradise) is about 50 mins It’s my first time to drive a fully-electric car and I’m surprised that it can only run less than 200km/124.274mi at one time However, the power is good enough, despite being a Kei car(Japanese small car) The reason I go to the vending machine park again is that it’s installed new retro vending machines I had no choice but to check them out We are arriving soon Hey look, lots of cherry blossoms in full bloom! SAKURA car and Sakura trees Hey dogs It’s here Looks more crowded than the last time I came here The parking lot is almost full Welcome to “Used Tire Mart Sagamihara” As you can see, it’s actually a tire shop But as a side hustle, the owner has been operating these retro vending machines There are 112 vending machines in total, officially as of 2023 but probably more in 2025 The manufacturers of these retro vending machines have already stopped providing maintenance services So the owner has repaired it himself using replacement parts and has kept it in good condition What surprised me first is they’ve installed these garbage cans and the two in the left are exactly what McDonald’s in Japan has! I didn’t see these tables when I first came here… What an upgrade overall The biggest change is this new array of vending machines The owner keeps collecting vintage vending machines from around Japan However, most vending machines in this corner are not operating Hopefully, they may be recovered for re-operation in the near future Apart from retro vending machines, we can also tell that the tire shop has been loved by locals in the area Not only vending machines, but there are vintage arcade machines from 80s to 90s In the retro arcade, there is a coin changer Let’s get ready for today’s vending machine eats 100JPY coins by 20 You will also need to change 100JPY coin to 10JPY coins First thing first, you must try hot noodles Choose Udon or Soba I chose Soba, 500JPY/3.5USD (Soba is said to be healthier than Udon) Some coins will be rejected You face the “generation gap” here Looks okay It counts down before gets ready Plot twist: A human inside the vending machine Oh, be extremely careful when taking it out as it’s extremely hot The content is about to overflow Take chopsticks and spicy powders if you need some So this is vending machine Soba noodles I can’t eat Soba without Shichimi powder to make Soba more flavorous It’s got marbled beef meats and Kamaboko rice cake The noodles are well prepared It’s unbelievable that the Soba was quickly prepared from vending machine How can it be done? Next, let’s go with American foods Old-school hamburger packages 350JPY/2.45USD Hmmmm Let’s go with shrimp burger The blinking lamp tells us built-in microwave is now working The classic and cute. The hamburger vending machine was first developed in 1965 and reached its peak during the 1970s and 1980s You get the warmed up hamburger from vending machine It’s simple yet the best Containing shrimp cutlet with Turtur sauce Who hates this? Hey, we need to grab something cold to drink Vintage 7UP vending machine (Made in USA) Give me a moment, sir Done Oops, looks like I had to turn the selector first I did not select the item Originally, select what you want to buy first Anyway, we’ve got a coke, not bad at all Humburger with a bottle of coke The classic combo. Who’s next? Bento(lunch box) vending machine It’s literally a vending machine paradise… Curry rice vending machine Miso soup vending machine Let’s give it a try When I was little, my mother taught me that when a vending machine rejects coins, it’s because you haven’t been considerate enough hmmmm Let’s take that the miso soup vending machine is now taking a lunch break This is Ramen Vending Machine No way I’m about to cry It’s working finally! For those who wonder Inside the vending machine, boiled noodles and toppings are already placed in a cup and kept refrigerated Put money in one of them and hot water will be poured into it Then, the machine will rotate and drain the water Lastly, pour in the soup and it’s done We’ve got char-siu pork ramen, 500JPY/3.5USD I added black pepper on it Super Under the porks are nori seaweed, green onions, and seasoned bamboo sprouts Wherever, Ramen never disappoints me even from vending machine Are you still hungry? Me, yes (nice horn) In sheltered area, there are mainly snack and dessert vending machines Here, too many vending machines to choose from Candied fruits Chocolate banana Both are Japanese unique sweets that are usually found in a fireworks festival(Matsuri) Good BANANA It’s a good break to take between noodles Battery vending machine I doubt they are still alive Vending machine in roulette If you win the roulette, you get additional one for free Let’s give it a try What a hustle Fasting forward… hmmm Let’s go with milk strawberry wait (coughing, sry) C’mon, it’s SOLD OUT… What about Pop corn? It’s the best choice It’s only 100JPY/0.7USD Every American must love this Let’s walk with Pop Corn for a while Because I know there is a Sakura spot So many cherry blossoms… like Washington Welcome to the Spring season of Japan filmed in April 5th A local football team is playing a game under the trees, nice with Pop Corn Let’s get back to the vending machine journey Looks like the miso soup is back from the lunch break! It’s working! First time drinking vending machine miso soup a bit scary though… It’s only 100JPY/0.7USD You can choose either Red or White miso soup Red is bitterer It tastes like miso soup, okay That’s not mine Canned Yoshinoya beef bowl 20JPY/0.14USD Gum vending machine But they are actually sold at 100JPY/0.7USD Vending machine in baseball game You hit Homerun and get another one for free! I’m now wearing a New York Yankees cap My 3-year baseball experience came to nothing I’ve got a souvenir Orange juice which provides all the vitamins you need for the day “Curry and rice vending machine in 27 secs” I must try this one cuz I love curry the best 600JPY/4.2USD I chose the spicy one It’s so surprising that there exists a “curry and rice vending machine” “Cooking timer” Oh it’s ready yet! It’s really “curry and rice” The lunch time. It’s actually retort-pouch curry However, the fact it’s prepared from a vending machine is simply amazing The owner sells the shop’s original merch in some vending machines 12 inch used tire is sold from 500JPY/3.5USD, 14 inch 2000JPY/14USD, 18 inch 6000JPY/42USD I guess tires are sold fairly affordable in this shop Canned cooked rice Canned Yakitori chickens Canned Ramen and Oden!? You can rest assured that there is a clean restroom I randomly found a “cotton candy self-serve vending machine” (only 100JPY/0.7USD) You get a stick first Choose from Strawberry, Banana, and Melon flavors Yes, I chose Banana Oh, I thought the door would open automatically It’s so fun to make your own cotton candy Made the perfect cotton candy PROBABLY How much money will you pay for this? Vending machines are frequently refilled So the contents are safe to eat You notice lots of paper slips are tied to pillars This is the culture of Omikuji(Japanese fortune tellings) Put in 100JPY/7USD Get a paper slip of Omikuji vending machine The slip tells you what you need to avoid or should do in this year I’ve got the message: “At first, there may be worries like crossing a bridge over a dangerous valley stream, but do not be alarmed or confused. Later, everything will settle peacefully. All matters, no matter how small, should be handled with care.” Thank you vending machine for teaching us about what life is Frozen food vending machines that can be found here and there on streets selling Ramen, Gyoza dumplings, and pasta Freshly squeezed orange juice vending machine I know the brand is from Singapore The arcade. Enjoy the 80s Japanese vibes here There are a lot of unfamiliar games to me It’s so refreshing It’s Christmas Eve Let’s grab a Christmas Present I’m now so serious YES!! Woohooo yooo Got a toy crane! I must give this to a baby nearby Machine: “Rock, Paper, Scissors” Machine: “Paper” If you win the machine, you get a payback of 10JPY/0.07USD Machine: “Rock, Paper, Scissors” Machine: “Scissors” Some old vending machines only take 10JPY so you can play many games Sudden roulette time This is how Japanese people have enjoyed everyday lives for 50 years Coffee milk We love to drink coffee milk after taking a bath Thank you for watching the video Where to head next? travelgeek will always travel with you Rock, Paper, Scissors…. 1 2 3 Rock See you in the next travel!

The crane game just throws your prize at you… "Take it and get out!" 😆
You beat me- Scissors… 😆
7:35 disgusting
Wow, you are back to this place called Youtube. I just have come back to Germany from one week of Tokyo and enjoyed to have been there. Your video is a nice prolongation of that experience.

肉うどん500円?肉そば500円?
ボッタクリですね🤧
あ〜!マシンが増えてる、直ぐ行かなきゃ
中古タイヤ販売より自販機の方が利益ありそう
JAPAN MAKE THE BEST ELECTRONCS AND GIZMOS I HAVE EVER SEEN,
VENDING MACHINES WOULDENT LAST IN AUSTRALIA THE WOULD ALL GET BROKEN IN TO.
It would be very interesting if you were to interview the owner and discuss his love of these machines, where he finds them, and how he repairs them.
Any time anyone makes a video about this place I will watch it! Love this place.
