3 Days on Japan’s Luxury Cruise Ship | 🇯🇵NipponMaru Kobe – Kanazawa
Today we’re on the Nippon Maru, Japan’s luxury cruise ships. Three days at sea, indulging in exquisite cuisine. From Kobe to Kanazawa. Please enjoy this trip! Hello from the Shinkansen. Today we’re going on Japan’s luxury cruise ship, the Nippon Maru. The Nippon Maru is one of Japan’s most famous cruise ships emphasize refinement, Japanese hospitality, and intimate atmosphere. This is the route. Departs Kobe at 19:00 → One full sea day → Kanazawa at 09:00 on 3rd day. It’s a short, casual cruise with delicious meals, scenic sailing through the Seto Inland Sea, and a morning arrival in Kanazawa perfect for a pre-weekend getaway. Okay, I’ve arrived at the terminal. I’m coming now. What the heck?? Guys, where’s the cruise ship?????? Where am I? HAHAHAHA. There are several ports in Kobe, so I went to the wrong one. Thanks to my savior, I made it close to the right port. On the way to the port, I’ll share the cost of this Nippon Maru cruise. Rates start ¥104,000 per person. Single supplement added, but with the shareholder discount, the total was ¥125,000/$850. Just a three-day cruise, but a special one. There it is. LETS GO. This is the ship, Nippon Maru A Japanese luxury cruise ship built in 1990, currently serving around 450 passengers. This is Japan’s smallest luxury cruise ship. All passenger cabins are guaranteed an ocean view. I got the boarding pass and let’s go! Oh no, I thought I was missing something. I’m missing my bag AGHHHHH. I got my bag!! I fotgot it on the bike. IT’S THE CRUISE AGAIN. BUT WITH MY BAG. I made it inside the cruise. The reception is slightly dark, calming. My Room is on the same floor as the reception. 222A Now, let’s take a look at my room. This is my cruises ship room for 3 days. Open sesame 222 A simple introduction. 2 beds. And the bathroom comes with a shower and a toilet. I’m thirsty I’m hoping for water. Nice Water. Cool! there’s even sparking wine inside. Water. There will be an emergency drill at 18:35. Let’s head to where I need to head. Cool. The emergency drill starts. I was surprised toI board just days after the retirement was announced. There’s a von voyage event. Hurray. Time to set sail. Bye bye Thanks for the send-off. With retirement next year, I wonder how many more times this can happen. Let’s enjoy this moment! The ship may be retiring, but the people here look full of life. Young people. Wow look at that. A beautiful work of art. Good bye Kobe. Now the ship sails westwards into the Seto inward sea. “Good news and bad news from Editor Solo Solo” “Bad news is that I have a cold while editing this video.” “The Good news is that 1.5 million people subscribed to the channel.” “That’s a lot of people.” “Wishing you all good health during the changing seasons.” the unbelievably red sunset Let’s head back inside. There’s a theatre. There will be a performance from 20:45. The dolphin hall. On the 7th deck I’ll get a snack before dinner. There’s a little cafe. Where you can order stuff like Tacos and burgers. Even this Godiva drink. I got tacos and a shake. Guys. I forgot to record. It’s over. My life is over. I think I watched this before somewhere. It looks like a sink, but it’s also a smartphone sanitizer. Well, let’s get ready for dinner. The dinner will be served the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor houses the main dining room “Mizuho.” Walt. There’s a line. How does this thing work? This ship has a great reputation for food, so I can’t wait. Look how nice the graphic design is on the menu. The dinner will be “washoku” a Japanese meal. Appetizer. Soft-boiled octopus. Summer orange,
Green asparagus, and Sea asparagus. and jellied anago (conger eel) Let’s try this. I got my wine here now. This is a menu for drink. These come with an extra charge. Sashimi. Katsuo (bonito) from Wakayama Prefecture. It’s so fresh. This random fossilized thing is kind of good. It’s congor eel I think. Fried Dish. Deep-fried lotus root stuffed with beef. Broad beans. Sweet fish. Lotus root. Let’s keep it light. yes, good. While I was eating my tempura. The main dish? Simmered Dish This bowl came by its beef and the red tofu. Sakura shrimp rice, red miso soup, pickled radish. Soup. Red miso soup with nameko mushrooms, tofu skin, and yam. It’s quite a lot of food. These dishes seem stomach friendly. Maybe it’s because its boiled food. (idk) Dessert. Matcha choux cream. Thanks for the food. Next it’s the 21:15–22:00 –
A★P★P☆ Concert “Variety of Music” But I can’t film the show so let’s head to… The Seto inward sea. Is kinda calm. Look at how calm the waters are. I haven’t realized we’re moving. Alright I’m going to go take a bath. Good bye people. There are people now getting
sucked into the casino lounge. There is a free “$2000” Monopoly
money idk if it’s Monopoly money. There’s roulette and black jack. Ya I don’t get this roulette thing. What’s behind the curtains. Wowza look at that. A dance hall. Why is everyone good at dancing. Well. I am not good at dancing. I made it to the 7th deck. I made it to the horizon bar. It’s like a little cozy bar only cool kids can find. Cool I’ll visit here tomorrow. If I don’t forget. What is that ship thing I see over there. Apparently that’s an island? Shodo island? It’s part of Kagawa prefecture not the footballer
but where the sunrise express terminates. I think it’s my first time
seeing a lighthouse in action. Wow so coolio. On the other side is moonlight. Kinda beautiful even with curtains of clouds. It’s already 11 I need sleep. Welll, let’s go back home. One last stop before going to bed. Heading to the grand bath to remove all the sweat. It’s opened till 1am which is nice. I feel so good. Oops, I forgot the room tour! Here’s the bathroom. A nice shower. With curtains. The holy trinity is here. What’s the worth of a Japanese
cruise ship without a Japanese bidet. B tier. The amenities are as follows. Body cream. Woodenb comb. WoodenB comb. B. Bamboo toothbrush. Nice font. Fancy shaver. Hair amenity. Toothpaste cotton set. Cotton set Shower cap. Body towel. And there is a power outlet for shaving idk. There is enough storage for 2 people. And the fridge. We went over this already. And the old fashion hinge thing. Very 90s. There are cups. Tea. And pots. A safe. Please there be some treasure
left from the previous passenger. A tissue. A blow dryer. And a shoehorn looks like a cane It may be a radio. A relic. Yes, i don’t know. I found another hidden shelf. Guys what is this. Ih server. Infrared heater probably. A Doraemon. air purifier Instructions. This sofa space. The 2 beds. I think it’s on the firmer side which is nice. because I don’t lift my feet, We don’t need this right now. Power outlets are on the bed side. Does it work? Yes. The pillow is quite hardy. And the window is… Small. But it does come with a view. Alright that’s about it. I’m going to sleep. Good night DAY 2 Good morning. Is it sunny out? I’m not too sure now. There is a morning stretch time early in the morning. We are at the dolphin deck once again. Oh, my shoulder is going to break. After this I’ll have breakfast. I’ll go to the restaurant on 6F, but seats are limited. We are at the Kasuga dining hall. This place is reserved for morning. The morning breakfast serve here is NOT open tomorrow. So I’ll have to try here today. Anyways there are bread, salad, drinks and yogurt. They’lll be served in a self serving fashion. Today’s soup is minestrone like soup. And salad. Good fresh salad. Taste good. The main dish arrives. Pancake, big omelette and bacon. There was an option to choose between sausage bacon and ham. I chose bacon. And there’s hashbrowns. For the pancake I got 1 plain and 1 of today’s special, the banana pancake. It’s not just a regular pancake with a banana on top right. I would laugh it if we’re true. And an omelette. Japanese bacon is so bad I can’t lie. The fruits arrive just in time. What is this? (It was melon.) The grapefruit looks good, but I munched it off. Now it’s like a murder scene. Well. Thanks for the food. The cruise looks quite fast from this angle. But it’s only traveling at around 30km/h. It’s almost time. There is a bingo game going on from 9, I’ll head there now. There are a lot of people. Wait, there are actual prizes. Wait, this is worth playing bingo for!!! 「N45」 Oh no I’m losing already. 「O61」 I smell victory. 「B..」 「B11」 Someone already got a bingo???? 「G48」 It’s over Round 2 let’s gooo!!! Guys I might win it. 「O72」 … A few calls later. Not even a number called. 「B10」 … It’s over. Wait ,I might be not over for the not over people. 「O73」 The unlucky people will get prizes which is good. Guys I got curry lol. Beef dry curry. The last standing person got 200 dollars worth of coupons. good! I’m back in my room. There’s an hour gap until the next event
so I’ll tour around the cruise ship. This cruise ship is composed of 7 floors this is the main deck. Nippon Maru has 9 decks, including 6 passenger decks there are about 190 cabins, accommodating around 450 guests. Deck 0. Tender & Crew Area. Restricted to crew only. Deck 1. Hospital & Lower Guest Cabins. Medical clinic. Even if something happens on board, you can feel at ease. Deck 2. Lobby & Main Restaurant. Reception Lobby with tour desk and cruise office. Main dining room “Mizuho”
located at the rear. Various guest cabins including my room. Deck 3. Laundry. Both the washing machines and dryers are available free of charge. Public Bath & Cabins. Grand Bath and sauna with an ocean view. Deck 4 Promenade Deck (~300m loop), great for walking. There is also the theatre for performances. So, what is everyone waiting for…? We’re crossing the Kaimon Kaiko The tides here change direction very 6 hours and we’re almost there. The Kanmon Kaikyō is the strait separating the Japanese islands of Honshu and Kyushu. It’s one of Japan’s most important and busiest sea passages, historically and economically. Kanmon Bridge opened in 1973 There is also a Kanmon Railway and Roadway Tunnel. About 600 ships pass daily including cargo ships, ferries, coast guard vessels. Ferries connect Shimonoseki with Busan, South Korea and other domestic ports. I had lunch there in my previous trip to Shimonoseki. That’s the Ganryu island. Though it’s a historic island, it feels surprisingly quiet and modest. Let’s continue with the deck tour. Deck 5. e-Café Entertainment room Library, Card Room, Boutique shops. Casino Lounge “Beginner’s Luck.” Dolphin Lounge. And yes, the Wi-Fi that everyone’s curious about is available here. Deck 6. Sushi Bar “Shiosai”, Kasuga Restaurant, Midship Bar. This is lounge “Umi” There’s a sushi bar here. Not opened? Opened? I’m not so sure. This sushi is not complimentary. Mermaid Theater, main performance space. This is the Kasuga dining salon. There are about a few dozen of seats. Breakfast and lunch for all, dinner priority to upper decks. Here are the different room types: Grand Suite Vista Suite Ocean View Suite Junior Suite Deluxe Single Deluxe Veranda Deluxe Twin Comfort State Standard State Every room has its own charm. Deck 7. Pool, Lido Pool Terrace Light snacks are available. Fitness Studio, Spa & Beauty Salon. Nail Salon hair salon The weights here are kinda heavy. Horizon Lounge & Bar with panoramic forward views. Lower Sundeck area. The pre lunch activities have started. What are they playing? Do you know anyone? It’s 12:00 meaning it’s time for lunch. I will be having lunch at the main dining room Mizuno on 2F. It almost looks like a retro poster. That said, it’s a menu. First, the appetizers Grated yam soba. Grilled chicken with yuzu pepper. Wagyu croquette. I don’t like grated yam. grass. Grass everywhere Ahhhhhhh. Too much grass will make me a horse. The dessert is warabi mochi. Thanks for the food. Alright I’m gonna rest for a bit now. Yawn. Yawn. Now there is going to be an afternoon tea thing from 2:30. But there’s going to be an exercise session from 1:15. I grabbed a burger and a beer. The burger is small, is nice for my diet. Hmm. Tastes like stadium food! They’ve been at if for a while now. Now throwing hoops. And now… Let’s go! 1 point!! I cannot lose to the grandma behind me. hahah My yoga class session starts from 2:15. Afternoon tea starts from 2:30-4:30. I’ll get afternoon tea after my yoga class. Enjoy this picture of the ceiling. One thing I learn is my hip joints are actually over. It’s time for my afternoon tea. Oh OKAY. It’s like a coffee break at a corporate seminar. I can’t tell if I’m disappointed or not. I know that it’s not afternoon tea. Might disappoint the British people. This must be the Japanese equivalent of disappointing foreign supermarket sushi. Thank you for the cakes. There’s a little break from the events, so I’m going to go head to the grand bath and Sauna. Good sauna time. I’m going to do laundry now. Ok how do I use this machine? Hahah help me. I think I did it. 29 minutes to go. I’m trying out this machine…. but what is this machine? You can’t see it but my face is literally shaking right now. My nose gets itchy using this machine. The hot dog looked good so I got one. Wow Pretty good. Better than the burger. Wait a second. This orange juice is good. So good! It was good that I even got a picture of the bottle. Beer is mid as always. Now I head back to do my laundry. I hope it’s finished. It’s done yay. I’ll be back in an hour. Good timing because there’s a cocktail party. Original cocktail chosen by the bartender guy. The pink is nice. Tastes great. Blue tastes like wack. There was a Harmonica concert. I bought a… Harmonica. Idk why. For the second time of the day. Great sunsets. The last sunset of the trip. Great. It’s time to head to dinner now. Let’s go. Wait. I completely forgot about my laundry. Is it done? sorry. Ok let’s go. It’s time for dinner now. Nippon Maru Dinner. It’s the most luxurious course that Nippon Maru offers. This feels more like a poster collection. Hors d’oeuvre. Salmon in Aspic. Lemon-flavored cream, parsley mayonnaise Dill, Castelvetrano olive,
Kennebec potato, Red lollo lettuce. Salmon. Grass. Christmas. Oil. The Sparking wine arrives. Hey it’s pretty good. Trying out the sugar line. Second. Mushroom Flan. Pine Nuts and Maitake Mushroom Gratin. Seafood dish. Lobster and Red Snapper Casserole Style Four kinds of beans, Moulard duck Lemon sausage, Thyme. Time to cut into this lobster with a stylish knife. Yes yes, great job. Looks yummy. As a refreshment Orange Sorbet. Let’s wait until it falls to the bottom. Nah I’m not waiting that long. Kobe port tower. Main dish This is the final piece of the course. Kagoshima Wagyu Sirloin Roast Beef. Gravy Sauce, Red cabbage stew, Roasted potatoes, Cresson and green vegetables Umeboshi (plum), Yam, Horseradish. That’s a lot of ingredients. Ok The meat is kind of good. It’s like Wagyu I think. Look at that marbling. No doubt, it was delicious. lol. Finally the Dessert. Mont Blanc Kiwi, Papaya. Thanks for the food! Next up… Is the casino place. But first. I feel like I need to go there. The sushi place. Probably I can eat 2-3 pieces. I guess it’s kind of expensive, but oh well. The fish might be fished right from the cruise. The recommend are the 3 piece set (red meat, white meat) and the 5 piece set. I got the Chef’s Choice Trio (Omakase Sanpin) – ¥1,200. Looks so much better than conveyor belt sushi. Look at that glow on the shrimp Good simple sushi. Tastes like sushi. That was petty good. Thanks for the food. Have a nice day. Now heading to the casino. I can win prizes from the bingo if I collect enough monopoly money. At last, today’s the day I get rich! !!! Or not. Well it’s over. I doubled my money, but And lost it all. It’s over. Let’s switch things up. Alright I got new mentors now. The instructor person taught me a few trcks. I am not so good at this, but fun! I don’t want to bring this out of the cruise ship so I’ll drink it now. Escape. ESPACE? Anyways I’m leaving tomorrow so I’m basically escaping. Cheers everyone. I’m glad to be here. The sweat from the dance needs to be wiped off. The bath should be opened so I’ll head there now. Good bath. Now that there’s only sleep to do Let’s sleep. For a boat of its size. The cruise ship isn’t shaking as often. Good to know. Thanks. Good nights. Day 3. Good morning fellas. What a beautiful day. Let’s start off the day with a morning stretch. Why is no one here. Arrived 15 minutes too early. Yes, my shoulders are actually finished. It’s over. My last meal on the cruise will be in the Mizuho. There were 2 options, the
Japanese breakfast or the buffet. There is also a buffet style dining. There’s fruit, some side dishes, and even salad. The Japanese Breakfast. It’s a Japanese omelet, salmon belly, and black beans. Fried vegetables with ankake sauce. plus 15-grain rice porridge. It looks really healthy and nice. Type of breakfast my grandparents would eat. Thanks for the food. Wowza. It’s Kanazawa. This is my first time seeing
Kanazawa from this angle. We made it. I mean we almost made it. Look at the mountains. Still snow left in the middle of June. What a great cruise trip it was The colors of the ships reminds me of the Cunard ships. It’s set to retire next year as one of Japan’s iconic cruise ships. I wonder if it will ever come back. Until then, may it bring countless smiles in the time remaining. Thank you, Nippon Maru. Now it’s time to enjoy Kanazawa. You can use the free shuttle to Kanazawa station. But I rented the cycle. Kanazawa port and the city center is a few kilometers away. I’ve made it. And I booked the hotel next to the station. Thanks for having me again. It comes with a sauna and onsen facility so it’s my go to hotel. Now that I left my bags in my hotel… I’m going to test out the sushi place inside the station. This is the ¥1,300 seafood bowl. For the price it’s insane quality. It tastes so good. Thanks for the food. Next we’ll head to the Higashi Chaya district. It is one of the city’s three historic geisha quarters. Famous things include the Gold‑leaf craft & sweets. Is this red wood painted or is it natural? Nice red colors. Hmm that shaved ice looks good. Here it is. 1200yen ($8.5) Kanazawa is famous for its gold leaf. This is matcha shaved ice with red beans and shiratama. This is your go to when it comes to summer. It’s a limited time event as well. Good stuff. very Japanese style, indeed. Thanks for the food. That was pure Kanazawa luxury. Hmmm. It’s kind of expensive. Hmmm. beautiful vase This looks cool. Alright, next up is to Asano river. I don’t want to walk so I’m going to cycle there. Wow. What a view. Nice place. I’m getting Deja vu. Oyama shrine. The parks in Japan lack greenery but it makes it up with the shrines. Impressive nice views are on the way back to the hotel. I found the Omicho market. I’m not sure if it’s the weekdays and the time of the day but it’s quite calm in the market. Crabs nice crabs. Crabs are like famous in Kanazawa. This rental cycle thing is actually very convenient. I’m back at my hotel for the night. This is my room. Very budget friendly and small. dinner. Deja vu again. It’s my routine at this point. Go go curry. Pork Katsu is the most popular. But the I’ll go for the chicken. What is a world class curry? 2.5kg?? The curry is here. The distinct color of the curry is what makes Kanazawa curry special. Black. So good. Thanks for good curry. I’m going to the bath now and get a rest. Ahhh. no, 11pm! I knocked out completely. It does make sense because I only had 4 hours. Well. That was a nice bath. There were a lot of people, perhaps because the bath is accessible to non hotel users as well. Well good night again. See you Tomorrow. Good morning. It’s time to check out and head back home. The cruise journey was short but a very fun trip! Thanks for watching. Have a nice day!

Oh my! It's like a toddler got the camera on his first cruise. Push and turn everything. Just hilarious!
Hope you’re feeling better. Loved your cabin. Loved the video. Thank-you for taking us along. KY USA Loved the tie.
CONGRATS! 1.5 mill! That's awesome…humour goes a longgggggg way and it's certainly helped you! Here's to the next 1.5! I loved this wee jaunt! What yummy food and nice being a smaller sized cruise. I'm always amazed that a lot of the food there or breakfast looks like what we'd have here for an evening meal. Such a nice wee excursion around town also. Hope the snuffles disappear soon!
I don't know, Solo Solo San, this cruise doesn't scream "luxury" to me. More like mid-level motel.
What a beautiful cruise ship. It has everything. Love the color of the ship. It's so great that all rooms have that ocean view. Each of those menus are beautiful keepsakes. Hopefully there will be another cruise ship comparable to Nippon Maru. It's nice to have the smaller numbers. This was a great cruise with great entertainment and food. Next trip you'll be playing that harmonica like a pro. Loved the curry at the end😊
Que emoción estar mirando tu video y ver la bandera de mi país 🇲🇽, por cierto eso que comiste no es un taco 🌮 mexicano 😂😂
