80. Sakura and Hanami in Mikamine Park at Nishitaga, Sendai, Miyagi, Tohoku, Japan

Sakura and Hanami in Mikamine Park at Nishitaga, Sendai, Miyagi, Tohoku, Japan. Mikamine Park is a charming place and the place of meeting for Japanese and Hanami – picnics under the cherry trees. My ride on the bike is very slow. On the end, I’m not in hurry to anywhere. Time for a curiosity about Sakura. In 1912, Japan gave the United States 3,000 sakura trees to commemorate developing the friendly relations between this two countries. Since that time the cherry trees grow on the banks of the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC, and the gift was renovated in 1956 – another 3800 trees. Sakura constitute a major tourist attraction, especially in early spring, when fully flourish (they are the subject of the annual National Cherry Blossoms Festival).
