This Tourist Was So Cringe #japan

Foreign tourists are ruining Japan. In today’s episode of Brain Rot for Foreigners treating Japan like a McDonald’s bathroom, an Australian drank a beer left on a grave as a gift for the deceased. After he went on some incel rant, too, by the way, he was chugging the beer and belching. You know, average Australian bloke things. Just kidding, Australia. The cherry on top was leaving the emptied can on the grave. To be honest, I’m just glad it wasn’t an American this time. Some of my biggest shorts on my channel have been about etiquette in Japan, and a lot of comments are great. Comments like, “Thanks, I didn’t know that.” or I’ll be careful. But way too many people also said, “I don’t have to follow Japan’s rules. I’ll do whatever I want.” First of all, cool. Thanks for the self-report. Second, people love Japan because it’s clean, it’s quiet, and people respect each other. It’s one of the few places left that still feels like it has a functioning social contract. You came here because you like what makes Japan different and then show up to trash it. Why? If you can’t follow the rules for your little twoe vacation, just stay home. Enjoy stealing from graves and littering in your own country. But what do you think? Should Japan crack down on nuisance foreigners?

These are the kinds of tourists who should just stay home

  1. I am sorry for using this word, but i hope that c- word in the video get a big does of bad karma. This is border line disrespectful to the family of the deceased.

  2. You go to Japan for its culture and beauty, not as a toilet or as a garbage bin. It's just a shame that a few wreck it for the rest.😢

  3. I think there’s something bittersweet about the Paris-ification of Japan and the loss of western otaku culture from the 2000s. Now, weebs made a LOT of mistakes and were cringey and often overstepped, but they were also DEEP in the sauce and wanted to learn everything about Japan so they could visit and get a full experience. Those weebs still exist but as Japanese pop culture has penetrated the zeitgeist and become more mainstream (and for lack of a better term, ā€œnormieā€), the concept of a ā€œJapan tripā€ has been popularized for people who aren’t really interested in Japan or invested in the culture at all. I’ll take that meme of the white guy in the kimono any day over the overwhelming rudeness and apathy we see now. Those 2000s western otaku still exist but they are few and far between compared to people who see Japan superficially as an aesthetic

  4. Its actually crazy that he’d do that. I’m sure he wouldn’t want someone messing with his loved one’s grave back at home. Yeah Japan has a lot of rules, but a lot of stuff is just common sense. Social Media and the need for attention for some reason really messed up peoples brains.
