Don’t travel Japan without these essentials #japantravel #traveljapan #visitjapan #japantips
Planning your first trip to Japan? It’s incredible. Easily one of the most unforgettable places we’ve ever been. But if you’re not prepared, Japan can feel a bit overwhelming. After two weeks traveling across the country, these are seven essentials we wouldn’t travel Japan without. Number one, a portable charger. Your phone’s going to be working overtime in Japan. From Google Maps, Translate, Train, Timets, taking a million photos. We use the Snap Wireless Power Pack Universal, and get multiple charges off one pack. Use our code Aiden and Maddie for 10% off if you’re grabbing one for your trip. Number two, we booked most of our Japan trip through Clug activities, passes, and even train tickets. It just made everything easier because it’s all in one app. Code Aiden and Maddie Clug for up to 10% off. Number three, it literally rained on day one of our trip, and of course, we didn’t pack umbrellas. Japan’s weather can surprise you, especially in spring and autumn. So, bring a small fold up umbrella from home. Number four, using an eim was one of the best things we did. As soon as we landed, we were connected. It made navigating trains, finding restaurants, and ordering food so much easier. We used Holifire, but Luke is also another great option. Number five, you’ll be walking a lot in Japan. We averaged over 15,000 steps a day, so comfy walking shoes are a must. Make sure they’re easy to slip on and off for things like temples, restaurants, and even some change rooms when you’re shopping. Number six, add a speaker or Pasmo card to your phone before you even leave home. Download it to your Apple or Google Wallet and you’re ready to go the minute you land. You can tap on and off trains, buy drinks at vending machines, or pay at 7-Eleven or from your phone. Number seven, most Japan hotels are really tiny, like shuffle sideways around your bag. Tiny packing cubes saved us from complete chaos every time we moved hotels. They make unpacking and repacking way quicker. Follow us for more first timer tips to make your trip smoother.
