Korea with Kids! 🇰🇷 Where to Stay in Seoul with a Baby & Toddlers

Planning a trip to Seoul with kids? There’s a lot
competing for your attention. But if you want a travel experience that sprinkles a bit of magic on
your trip, then let us show you what it’s like to stay in a hanok. These traditional Korean homes
are more than just beautiful. They completely shifted the rhythm of our trip. And the one we’ll
take you into today was one of the easiest and most meaningful places we’ve ever stayed at as
a family. This was the first stop of our two week journey across South Korea. And since we know how
overwhelming planning a trip with kids can be, we’ve put together a free bundle to make your
planning easier. It’s got our itinerary, a map with all our favorite spots, rainy day ideas,
and even a seasonal packing list. By the way, we’re Gabi and Javi, and we had three kids under
three and decided to travel the world. Some say it’s madness, others say it’s inspiring.
Honestly, it’s been a bit of both. So, we’re sharing everything we’ve learned along the way to
help other parents travel, too. Welcome to Korea. Since check-in to most hanoks
isn’t until the afternoon, we spent the morning exploring the nearby
area. Our Hanok was in Bukchon Hanok Village, one of Seoul’s most historic neighborhoods.
It’s filled with traditional houses, tea shops, and winding alleyways. One of the best
things you can do here is rent a hanbok. It’s an experience that’s fun for both kids and
adults, and there’s even a practical perk because if you wear a hanbok, you can visit the Gyeongbokgung
Palace for free. We’ll leave a link to the rental shop we used below. They had hanboks
for adults, kids, and even for infants, too. Let me see. So cute. Are you happy with your dress? Kimchiiiii After our visit to the palace, we headed back to Bukchon Hanok Village to settle into our home for the night. We stayed at Rakkojae Seoul, a hanok that’s more than
130 years old. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a traditional
tea service in our room. And honestly, it already felt like the pace of our trip slowed
down. Rakkojae is made up of several connected rooms, which made it so practical for us as a
family. Yeah, this is the first bedroom. And right in the entrance, we’ve
got a little dining area here. This is where we’re going to be having dinner
tonight and also breakfast tomorrow morning. In Korea! Carla already served herself a bit
of each cookie for the welcome tea. Then over here we’ve got second bedroom for Carla
and Nuno and another bathroom. Is it comfy? That’s your room, Nuni. Whoa. Whoa. After we settled into our room and enjoyed
the welcome tea, the kids continued sipping and snacking while I got to escape a little bit
to explore the property. Rakkojae Seoul has such a peaceful courtyard. It’s full of quiet
corners and traditional architecture. It really felt like stepping back in time. And I
also had the luxury to check out the spa area. It was the perfect balance. The kids
were happily enjoying the moment in the room and I got some time to soak in the
beauty and the tranquility of the hanok. Staying at Rakkojae Seoul gave our family the perfect
mix of immersive culture, practical familyfriendly features like tatami mats for the kids and
connected rooms and a spa on site which was awesome. It’s not just a hotel. It’s a place that
lets you slow down, connect, and really experience Korea in a meaningful way. So definitely consider
it if you’re planning your trip. Stay tuned because in our next video, we’re taking a day trip
to hang out with alpacas and visit Nami Island.
