Her Favorite Japanese Snacks – Cycling to Local Japanese Grocery Store

What is it like grocery shopping in Japan? Today Thuong and I will be cycling to our local supermarket, Kanesue. Most people in Japan actually ride their bikes (mamachari) with built in baskets and racks to do their grocery shopping, and my wife and I are no exception.

Grocery stores change a lot depending on where you live in Japan, and there are lots of different local chains all over the country. We really like this chain because it’s significantly cheaper than many of the other nearby stores, and they also have a membership program which gives you an extra 3% off on your purchases. The only bad point is it’s cash only, but definitely worth it considering the savings we get.

Join along to see inside our weekly grocery store run to see all the foods that help fuel us and this channel 🙂
