PVH-owned Calvin Klein is strengthening its presence in Asia with a new retail opening.

On Wednesday, the Bad Bunny-approved brand opened its largest Calvin Klein lifestyle store in Tokyo. Located at 4-31-10 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, the three-story flagship was “designed as a cultural and commercial destination,” offering what the company describes as the ultimate brand experience in one of the world’s premier fashion capitals.

“The Tokyo flagship marks a pivotal milestone in the global retail strategy for the Calvin Klein brand,” said David Savman, Calvin Klein’s global brand president. “Calvin Klein has always stood at the intersection of fashion and culture, creating products and consumer experiences that resonate and inspire, and our stores are where this element of our iconic DNA is the most fully realized.”

The Tokyo debut follows the brand’s first flagship, which opened last year in Paris. Like the Tokyo location, the store carries the full Calvin Klein apparel range, with dedicated menswear and womenswear floors, plus accessories including eyewear and fragrance.

A third flagship is also in the pipeline, with plans to open in SoHo, New York, later this year.

“We are excited to expand our footprint in one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals and deliver an elevated consumer experience where the Calvin Klein way of living meets the culture of fashion,” Savman said.

Calvin Klein is not the only denim-rooted brand turning its attention to Tokyo.

Earlier this year, Guess Jeans opened its first store in the city. Like its Berlin and Amsterdam locations, the Tokyo flagship blends local design sensibilities with Californian craftsmanship and architecture.

To mark the opening, Guess reunited with artist Verdy to present “Gift Shop with Friends,” a basement-level pop-up featuring limited products created in collaboration with local labels. The brand also staged its traveling exhibition, “The Next 40 Years of Denim,” for a limited run in Tokyo.

Guess Jeans also has plans to open a Los Angeles store later this year, while continuing to scale through a major distribution partnership in India and expanding across Italy, Poland, Spain, Greece, France, Turkey and Dubai.
