Eating Our Way Through Asakusa, Tokyo! Japan Travel Vlog

Get the mouse. Get the ducky mouse. Hello everybody. Welcome back to the channel. So today, Natsumi and I are in Asakusa. And what we’re going to be doing here is we’re going to be trying some street foods today. Um some things we may have already had and other things may be a new experience for us. So let’s go and check it out. All right. So, Natsumi and I are doing the smart thing and we’re not going down Nakamise because it’s just wall to- wall people down there. So, we came along one of the the side alleys. Um, a lot less crowded. So, we’re going to try to see what we can find to eat. Let’s go. Okay, guys. First up, Madame Pong. Let’s try it. Mhm. How much was this Natsumi? 300 yen. Mhm. Very good for 300 yen. Perfect. This is good. Street food number one. All right, guys. So, next up is sweet potato cake. And Natsumi just bought this. It was 370 yen for one. This is the first time I’m trying something like this. I’m not really a big fan of sweet potato. So, you’re gonna like it. Let’s try it. All right, guys. So, that was sweet potato cake. Very, very good. Rich, creamy, almost like a cheesecake texture. So, I’d say street food number two success. Let’s find something else. Uh, one of the things I love about Asakasa is the smell of the incense burning as you get closer to Sensoji Temple and then everybody’s trying to waft the the incense on themselves as a form of cleansing. But, uh, this is insanity. I have never seen it like this before. And I think this was I think this is worse than last year to be honest cuz I I don’t remember seeing this many people here ever. Um also we came at night last year. So that was nice. So I highly recommend if you want to see this place in a different way come at night. But um there’s actually like a little bit of a street food festival thing here going on. I’m not sure what this is about. I’ve never seen this here before. But we’re going to check it out since you know the subject of this video is street food. So but first we need to get something to drink. It’s hot out here. So all right continuing on. All right, guys. Next up, Wagyu beef skewers. Very good. Mhm. Wagu on a stick. Great success. Very delicious. So, we’re going to move on to the next one. Hi Dan. Natsumi says this is jaga butter. It’s a potato with butter smeared all over it. We’re going to try it. See how it is. But it’s good. This is really good, guys. Look at that. How much was this? 600. Mhm. Street food number four. Success. All right, guys. Next up is karag. There it is. That is a big karag. Oh yeah, that’s good. I mean, it’s hot out, but this is good. It’s very good. Mhm. All right, guys. So, street food karag success. Now, we’re moving on to the next thing. Probably the last thing cuz we’re getting fooled. Let’s go. So, the last thing on our street food item list is a strawberry soda. And we’re going to see how this is. I’m not much of a fan of strawberry, but I’ll try it. chunks of strawberry, but uh it’s not bad. It’s refreshing on a day like today. Very good. All right. Strawberry soda. Success. Success. Although, I mean, we know how I feel about fruits. Yeah. So, everything that we had today probably totaled around um 40 bucks. So, I think um the first thing we had was 300 yen. So, that was the melon pond. Then, we had the uh sweet potato cake. That was 370. 370. Then we had the Wagyu on a stick. So that was 2500. You know, Wagyu, right? And then um and then we had the potato, which was 600. 600. Then the karag which was 500. So what’s our grand total? I don’t know. But uh the soda was 600. And the soda was 600. So you know, I mean I I highly recommend that if you’re going to come here and you go to Asakusa, bring cash. bring cash and branch off from Nakamise because you’re still going to find a lot of cool stuff down those side streets and really good food as well. More food selections than what I think is on Nakamise Dori. So, but with that being said, we’re going to go ahead and end the video here. I hope you enjoyed the Asakasa street food that we brought to you. And if you did like it, please leave a like and a comment. And we’ll see you in the next video. Unbelievable.
