Destination Tokyo Disney Resort – Explore Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea

[Music] We’re traveling halfway around the world to the Tokyo Disney Resort. Tokyo Disneyland is so amazing. First, we’ll visit Tokyo Disneyland, home to those classic attractions and some new favorites like Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Bees. It’s nothing like I’ve ever been on before. Never experienced a ride like that. Then we’ll explore Tokyo Disney Sea, a Disney park like no other. It’s just unlike Alio the park. It’s just out of this world. In the allnew Fantasy Springs, you’ll fly with Peter Pan. Peter Pan is like 10 out of 10. Like the best ride. It is absolutely amazing. Feel the magic of Frozen. The Frozen ride, like I didn’t expect it. This one was so different. It’s so immersive. Fall in love with Rapunzel. If you’re a fan of the movie and you like the character, it’s definitely one that you’re going to enjoy. Plus, we’re checking in to some of the coolest Disney hotels ever. When I walked in, I thought I was in a Disney Enchanted movie and a little Disney dining all Japanese style. And I like popcorns. I’m obsessed. Yeah. I don’t know how many flavors there were. Come along to Destination Tokyo Disney Resort. [Music] Tokyo Disney Tokyo Disneyland was established in 1983 as the first Disney theme park in Japan based on the basic philosophy of family entertainment that people of all ages can enjoy and a faithful to Walt Disney’s vision of a kingdom of dreams and magic. Stories that bring dreams to people’s hearts are performed as shows and the entire park is used as a stage for guests and cast members to participate and experience them together. Everything’s different here. So, yeah, from home. You can kind of feel like you’re in the same in the same place, but it’s a different world. They have a lot of new things. Um, we’re from San Diego, so we’ve been to the Disney over there and over here they have like a whole bunch of new rides. It’s a a different vibe to the American parks. There are a couple of different rides, but some old favorites. It’s a different experience. If you’ve been to Disneyland or Disney World in like say Florida or whatever, it’s uh it’s it’s it’s similar in a way, but still different. Tokyo Disneyland consists of seven themed lands based on adventures, fairy tales, and the future. And in each themed land, you’ll experience the extraordinary world of Disney magic. [Music] Let’s start in World Bizaarre. Much like Main Street USA in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, it’s lined with shopping and restaurants. And just like Magic Kingdom, it leads to Cinderella Castle in Fantasy Land. Here you can enter the throne room of Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, where you can find her iconic glass slipper. Fantasy Land here is filled with familiar attractions like Snow White’s Adventures, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and It’s a Small World. It’s a Small World is actually really good. They integrate a lot of the Disney characters, but the highlight of Fantasy Land. [Music] This is the newest area in Tokyo Disneyland, which opened in September 2020. Based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Beauty and the Beast, guests can enjoy restaurants and stores that recreate the world of the Disney animation film Beauty and the Beast, as well as Tokyo Disneyland’s original large-scale attraction, The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Guests can experience the movie as if they are part of it. The highlight of my park visit yesterday was getting on the Beauty and the Beast ride. I can’t describe it. Like even the queue, the pre-show felt like a ride and I thought we were done. And then that was just the line. You’re in different scenes of the movie and it’s so cool. You’re sitting in teacups and you just go throughout the movie. The animatronics, the details, again, the theming, everything is just so seamless and grand and magical. [Music] I went on twice. I I might have cried. The story is a classic, right? It tells the story from the ride. You don’t need to understand what they’re saying cuz you already know the story. We grew up with it. When they were speaking in Japanese, I looked over and I said, “Um, I don’t understand what they’re saying, but I understand what they’re saying.” [Music] We really love the Beauty and the Beast. Beautiful and exclusive and like give you chills like you you feel as a kid again. Magical. Yeah, it was immersive. You feel like you’re actually part of the movie. It was very Yeah, it was it was nice. I was a bit emotional actually. It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s nothing like I’ve ever been on before. Never experienced a ride like that. [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] In Adventure Land, you’ll find the classics like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and the enchanted Tiki Room. But in Tokyo, the serenating birds get interrupted by that mischievous stitch. There’s, of course, Big Thunder Mountain in the area they call Western Land, and Splash Mountain in Critter Country. And for the little ones, there’s a familiar Toontown. Finally, over in Tomorrowland, we found Stitch again. This time in the Stitch Encounter, and only in Tokyo, the Happy Ride with Baymax. It’s my favorite ride. Right. So, you’re going around in a circle and then all of a sudden it whips you in one direction and then it’s going to whip you in the other direction and all those little butterflies in your stomach are just like fluttering like crazy. Everybody waiting in line, uh, they really get into it and that’s where I started getting into it and waving my hands and trying to figure out the different dance moves. At the Baymax ride, one of the guys was dancing so hard. It’s just so fun to see kind of other people’s passion is infectious. And let’s not forget Star Tours. The adventures continue where you’re transported to the world of Star Wars in 3D. It’s like being in Star Wars. Uh being on a a ship, going into hyperspace, uh visiting all sorts of fun planets. It’s uh a really fun time. All this plus special shows and parades, including the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, plus Reach for the Stars, Tokyo Disneyland’s nighttime spectacular. As Walt Disney said, Disneyland will never be completed. I hope you have a wonderful day with your family, friends, and loved ones at the ever evolving Tokyo Disneyland. Up next, we’re heading to Tokyo Disney Sea and checking out some one-of-a-kind attractions. [Music] Enjoying this episode of Destination? Explore more exciting adventures at destination.abc. Tokyo Disney Sea, which opened in 2001 next to Tokyo Disneyland, is a world filled with adventure, romance, discovery, and fun, where adventure, and imagination set sail. It is the only Disney park in the world themed to the sea. Inspired by stories and legends of the sea, this Disney theme park opens the door to an enchanting voyage that will inspire the adventurous spirit in everyone. It’s just unlike any other park. It’s just out of this world. It’s just like every time I turn a corner, there’s something new and just breathtaking. I think it it feels like a much bigger scale. All the theming is so I think in depth and I mean just the buildings like themselves are physically bigger. You I I think it’s much more immersive. You feel like you’re in a different world when you’re here. Tokyo Disney Sea is comprised of eight themed ports. The newest is Fantasy Springs with four new attractions. We’ll get there in a moment. Let’s start at the park’s entrance. As soon as we stepped through the entrance, like a whole world opened up. It looks like we stepped into the Mediterranean. You know, I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve been to Orlando, been to California Adventure, never seen anything like this. Disney Sea specifically is only one. It’s one of one. So, you know, if you want a unique experience, this is the place. At Mediterranean Harbor, you can climb on board the Disney Sea Transit Steamer Line and circle the park. In the American waterfront, you’ll find Disney Park favorites like the Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, and Turtle Talk. Take the Disney Sea Electric Railway to Fort Discovery and find Nemo and Friends, Sea Rider, and Aquattopia. Honestly, I love Aquattopia. I don’t know, it just made me feel like a kid again, twirling around in water. It was great. Travel over to Mysterious Island if you dare, and take a submarine 20,000 leagues under the sea and then journey to the center of the earth. Journey to the center of the earth. Yeah, it was pretty cool. The technology that was used to that ride is something that we don’t have in California. Here in the Lost River Delta, explore the Indiana Jones Adventure, Temple of the Crystal Skull, and then ride the Raging Spirits roller coaster. Over in the Arabian Coast, check out the Caravan Carousel, Jasmine’s Flying Carpets, and Sinbad Storybook Voyage. I’d like Simbad as well. Thought Simbad was good. Yeah. Yeah, Simbad. I’d probably like that one. Get ready to live out your under the sea dreams in Mermaid’s Lagoon. Explore Ariel’s Playground and ride Scuttle Scooters, Flounders Flying Fish Coaster, and more. And now back to the allnew Fantasy Springs. This is Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port of Tokyo Disney Sea that opened in 2024. themed to magical springs that lead to the world of Disney fantasy. Fantasy Springs is the only theme court of its kind in the world and consists of three areas inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios films. Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Neverland, as well as Tokyo Disney Se Fantasy Springs Hotel. Each area is filled with different attractions, restaurants, and shops that bring the world of each film to life. Fantasy Springs is really great. It’s immersive. It has just a really great look to it and everybody is so excited around it and it it seems like it takes the Disney characters to the next level and the way that park rides can be so immersive and inclusive and make you really uh see the stories for what they are. [Music] Peter Pan’s Neverland offers an adventurous view of Neverland, including Captain Hook’s pirate ship and the skull rock from the Walt Disney animation studio film Peter Pan. The attraction Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure uses the latest technology to create an experience that makes guests feel as if they are flying through the air. Guests will join Peter Pan and Tinkerbell as members of the Lost Boys on an epic adventure through Neverland. Peter Pan was, I think, one of my favorite things that I’ve ever experienced. Yeah, it’s much different than it is in the States. And Peter Pan, uh, you put on the 3D glasses and you’re in the story with Peter Pan, Wendy, the Lost Boys battling Captain Hook. You’re sitting in it and you’re you’re part of the story with them and following as they uh discover Never Neverland and fight Captain Hook and his pirates. It was very fun. I was able to see Peter Pan and the the cool kids and it was fun to like feel like you can fly. The animation is really cool and you will feel like you’re really flying. That’s what I like about it. Peter Pan is like 10 out of 10 like the best ride. It is absolutely amazing. [Music] Guests can enjoy Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies, an attraction that takes guests on a journey through the four seasons in the size of a fairy in Pixie Hollow, the fairy valley where Tinkerbell lives [Music] in Rapunzel’s forest. The tower where Rapunzel has lived since she was a child rises above the park. The attraction Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival offers a romantic boat ride to the annual Lantern Festival. It’s uh one of my favorite rides so far in the park. Yeah, I’m a big Rapunzel fan. So, if you’re a fan of the movie and you like the character, it’s definitely one that you’re going to enjoy. My favorite attraction so far from Disney Sea has been the Rapunzel um Lantern Festival. You’re on a boat ride and you are floating through Pertory and up to the Lantern Festival and it’s it’s just gorgeous and it’s immersive like everything else here. [Music] Frozen Kingdom features the beautiful scenery of the Kingdom of Arendelle. In Anna and Elsa’s Frozen journey, guests can enjoy the epic and heartwarming adventure of two sisters whose love for each other saves the kingdom of Arendelle from Eternal Winter. accompanied by well-known songs from the Walt Disney Animation Studio film Frozen. The Frozen ride. Definitely beautiful. It’s all so beautiful everywhere. It’s all so detailed. It’s amazing. Exactly. The Frozen ride, like I didn’t expect it. This one was so different. It’s so immersive. Your day would not be complete without a visit to the Royal Banquet of Arendelle. Enjoy a beef or seafood pot pie inside the three dining halls of Arendelle Castle. [Music] and finish your day at Tokyo Disney Sea with Believe Sea of Dreams Nighttime Entertainment Spectacular. Still ahead, we’re going hotel hopping and checking into some of Tokyo Disney Resorts character rooms. The Walt Disney Company recently announced plans for its 13th theme park. Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be constructed on Yaw Island in the United Arab Emirates. The original Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida. Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park in France. Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland in China. Plus, of course, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. Like any Disney park, Tokyo Disney Resort serves up its own unique foods and snacks. My favorite attraction is going to be the uh the rice rolls filled with bacon. That’s my favorite attraction. Yeah. Also, they have like these dumplings with fillings inside. They’re really good. There are all the different types of popcorn that you can get. And I like popcorn. I’m obsessed. Yeah. I don’t know how many flavors there were. I didn’t know it was so big here. That and churros. We tried a milk popcorn. We tried a salty popcorn. We tried um the one that we have right now is a soy sauce and butter flavor. Soy sauce and butter flavor. So good. So it’s um a little popcorn grabber. So if you don’t want to get your hands dirty, it’s crazy. If you want to go for a traditional Japanese dining experience in Tokyo Disneyland, be sure to check out Restaurant Hopsai along World Bazaar. Named after the artist Hopsai Katsushika, whose famous Ukioa prints are known worldwide, the restaurant serves up delicious Japanese cuisine. [Music] The Tokyo Disney Resort features a variety of Disney themed hotels. Each hotel offers a distinguished vibe and atmosphere. Disney Ambassador Hotel. The Disney Ambassador Hotel is conveniently located near both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. The theme of the hotel is the golden age of Hollywood in the 1930s and incorporates art deco styles. The hotel offers a variety of character themed rooms, including Mickey Mouse rooms and Minnie Mouse rooms, where you can feel close to Disney characters. It’s very grand. I love the art deco style. It’s really beautiful. It’s amazing. You just have to love all the little details that they put into it. There’s a Stitch room. Yeah. I’m a big fan of Stitch, so we had to stay in the Stitch room. Where are the Stitch rooms? He’s my favorite character. You will find a Mickey Mouse statue in the lobby and the real Mickey in the kitchen. The Disney Ambassador Hotel is home to Chef Mickey, a family buffet restaurant with endless options where guests get a tableside visit from the one and only Mickey Mouse. [Music] Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is located directly in front of Tokyo Disneyland. And the luxurious Victorian atmosphere is woven with Disney motifs throughout, creating a fantasy world. In addition to rooms where you can enjoy the park view, we also offer rooms themed around Disney movies. When I walked in, I thought I was in a Disney Enchanted movie. The theming in Japan is just unreal. I feel like everything has all the details. Um there’s so much to look at and it just feels so grand. We have the Cinderella room, uh the big one that you have like a a bedroom and then a a living room and this big and like very detail oriented. Very nice. The hotel also offers the Sherwood Garden Restaurant, another buffet with endless options, all facing the hotel’s beautiful English garden. Gardens and waterfalls welcome guests to the magical chateau of the Tokyo Disney Sea Fantasy Springs Hotel, a park integrated hotel situated near the new Fantasy Springs. And at the main entrance to Disney is the Portoino inspired hotel, Miracosta. Some of the hotel’s rooms look right into the park. Pixar fans will want to check out the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel. The scale of everything is just perfect. You feel like you’re basically a toy walking through. It is It’s so good. You’re like in the toy box. Yeah. Up next, move over Mickey. There’s another Disney character stealing the spotlight at Tokyo Disney Resort. [Music] Like all Disney resorts, you’ll find Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. But at the Tokyo Disney Resort, you’ll also find Duffy and Friends. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Duffy’s debut at Tokyo Disney Sea, the Duffy and Friends 20th Colorful Happiness Special event is underway. Special appearances, special merchandise. Well, Duffy is actually Mickey’s bear. He’s really prominent here in Japan, and there’s various characters. Um, and he’s just really big here in Japan. Rumor has it Minnie Mouse gave Mickey a teddy bear to keep him company when he’s traveling. Mickey named the toy Duffy because Minnie gave it to him in a duffel bag. And take a closer look at the light area of Duffy’s face. It’s shaped like a hidden Mickey. And there is a Mickey birthark on his hip. Duffy and friends includes Duffy’s good friend Shelley May, Gelaton the Cat, Stella Lou the Rabbit, Cookie and the Dog, Olu the Turtle, and Label the Fox. I got the little keychains with the thing with the fun shiny outfits. She’s my favorite. I love her because she’s a little fox and she’s so cute and she’s got a little tail. [Music] Tokyo Disneyland is so amazing. You get on a ride and everybody waves as you go off on your ride and everybody waves on the way back. I love how like immersive it is. There’s no other place like it. We like to call it the Disney bubble cuz it really is just like a whole another world. You can look up and see mountains and you don’t see anything else but what Disney has created. It’s really magical. Outside of its amazing location of Japan, which is a cultural experience in itself, the castmates create magic. They they help you. They they treat you like one of their own, you know. They don’t treat you like a foreigner, and it feels like family. Just seeing the artistry of of everything that is at this park that’s unique to this park. Um, you know, I was surprised by everything. It’s It’s so different than any of the other Disney parks I’ve been to in a really wonderful way. Everyone’s really friendly and uh everyone waves at you when you go past just waving all the time. So, it’s And everyone’s smiling. It’s just so happy. It’s just a day of discovery and that was, you know, to do that at a new Disney park was really special. It’s interesting, you know, being a longtime Disney fan and just sort of knowing what there is at Disney and knowing what Disney has to offer and knowing every nook and cranny and every shortcut and then walking into a Disney park for the first time after a lifetime of knowing that is really a tremendous feeling that you don’t get very often. Coming to Disney Sea was was one of the few places I could get that all over again for the first time.
