Day 13 of my Japan trip in Kyoto, Japan! π―π΅ππ£ββοΈππ #japan #bambooforest #arashiyama #hozugawa
Hi, my name is Katherine and I’m on a three-week trip to Japan. And today is day 13 and we are taking the Huzugawa River boat cruise that I saw on Tik Tok here in Kyoto. And I just knew we had to do this. It was a opportunity for us to see nature and explore a different side of Kyoto. and a great go. Yeah. [Applause] Towards the end of our boat ride, we were visited by another boat that was offering snacks and cooking food on a grill. It was wild, but we got some snacks. And then afterwards, we were dropped off right by the Ara Shiyama Bamboo Forest, which is a popular tourist spot. We were pretty hungry at this point, so there are so many food options to choose from. And I knew I wanted to try some takoyaki, which is a dough ball with octopus bits in it. And I got the one that had a lot of green onion and also some Japanese mayo. And then Steven, my boyfriend, got some steak there that I tried as well. And I got a matcha vanilla swirl ice cream because it is superior. And of course, we had to walk through the bamboo forest. There were also a lot of really cute shops like this Miffy Kitchen themed shop. Very cute. Just did an unexpected 20-minute hike up and it’s cloudy but hot and humid. We’re at the key park. You can see them behind and one down there. One of the highlights of this bamboo forest is hiking up to see the Japanese snow monkeys, which I really wanted to do the last time I went to Japan, but didn’t. And so I knew I wanted to do this this time around. And it was so cool to see monkeys. You don’t think of monkeys when you think of Japan. It was a really cool experience. We kept our distance from the monkeys and were able to feed them. I got the food to feed the monkeys. Afterwards, we headed to the Nintendo store in Kyoto, which fun fact, the headquarters of Nintendo is in Kyoto. And then we went to the PokΓ©mon Center store. And then, of course, had to get some ramen at my favorite place, which is Ichiron Ramen. I always love to get two eggs, some meat, and then a lot of green onions. And they’re not shy about the green onions. I love this place. It’s worth the wait. And this was day 13. And just a great day overall in Kyoto, Japan.
