❄️ Hokkaido’s Magical Winter Wonderland: Asahikawa Winter Festival & Sapporo Snow Festival ⛄

A short stroll in downtown Asahikawa It is snowing quite a bit Entering the area from the bus stop but you can also enter from the park, which is behind me The main stage It is early morning Sculptures start here Nice teeth Some of these sculptures will look better at night I wish I could build those during my high school years Yamadera? Bigger sculptures are on the opposite side Even Thomas the engine is here Let’s take another look at this one Let’s go The waiting time was short The maze was pretty simple Tank?? The exit A slide for kids There is one for the adults too Looks like fun It got windy and cold Let’s go! The hand out a piece of sealed cardboard as a slide Next attraction – banana ride This is the top of the stage The sculpture is bigger than it seems You can see the layered entranceway and the park behind it Food court Sculpture section Yeah, I went twice on the slide The light influences the experience Kids could build and decorate their snowmen here Another wall sculpture Another slide behind the food court In the park, there were more attractions A golf course You can relax at a quiet shrine as well On the way to the festival in the evening More visitors The sculptures look a bit different with illumination We won’t go through everything again though This arch looks way better Concerts have started Official store Let’s look at the food Four employees designated for the trash cans – unthinkable in the western world This was my favorite You could also try a traditional Ainu bear soup Like the TV crew were doing It was quite watery though Finally could sneak past them This would suit my bathroom On the way to my dinner, since restaurants close early in Asahikawa Artists were preparing ice sculptures in the city They had limited time to complete their works and compete More snowmen On the way to Sapporo This festival is more popular I haven’t seen crowds during the day though A view from the Sapporo Tower My skill level in ice skating I didn’t realize they were illuminated This was fun – a cup noodle slide International sculpture competition Interesting The line for free beer was super long Ice sculptures are located in Susukino More impressive at night, but I couldn’t make it this time Seafood wall I think the whole festival should be enjoyed after sunset Plum wine was good
