【Twice the Size of Shibuya】The Biggest Don Quijote in Japan
Japan’s Biggest Mega Don Quijote
and the Newly Opened Don Quijote in Shinjuku Hi! I’m Akanemaru, born and raised in Japan. This video is about the largest Mega Don Quijote
in all of Japan! We’ll also show you some freshly made dishes
that are popular there. At the end of the video, we’ll also share all the details about the Don Quijote that just opened this June,
so be sure to watch until the end! Now, let’s get started! We have arrived at Mega Don Quijote Toyohashi. It’s the largest Don Quijote in Japan, which opened in 2017. It’s located near Toyohashi Station,
where the Shinkansen stops. Toyohashi Station is about 1 hour and 20 minutes
from Tokyo Station, about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station,
and about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Kyoto Station. It takes about 15 minutes by taxi or bus to get to Don Quijote
from Toyohashi Station. Mega Don Quijote Toyohashi
is located inside a large shopping and entertainment complex called Holiday Square, which spans about 6.86 hectares. That’s about the size of 10 soccer fields! There are several buildings throughout the complex,
so we’ll show them to you one by one. At the center of the complex is the LOISIR HOTEL Toyohashi. It’s a massive hotel with 379 rooms. This building houses a movie theater and a bowling alley. There are also plenty of restaurants,
so it gets about as many visitors as Don Quijote. The movie theater is one of the largest in Japan, with a total of 3,310 seats
and 18 screens showing a wide variety of movies. On the 1st floor, there is an arcade. This is one of the largest arcades in the Tokai area,
featuring about 450 claw machines. It’s so spacious
that you can spend an entire day here without getting bored. Right next to the arcade, there is a Saizeriya. Saizeriya offers Japanese-style Italian dishes and is so popular that it ranked number one in the “Favorite Family Restaurants
Among Foreign Residents in Japan.” On the 2nd floor, you’ll find a specialty trading card shop. This floor has a huge bowling alley with over 30 lanes,
bustling with lots of people. Just a short walk from the building with the bowling alley,
you’ll find a KFC. There is also a pachinko parlor,
a popular Japanese gambling spot, and a Starbucks. Alright, let’s head to Mega Don Quijote Toyohashi,
which is bustling with people. Mega Don Quijote Toyohashi has 2 floors, and together,
the sales floor covers more than 1.11 hectares. The sales floor at Mega Don Quijote Shibuya
is about 0.55 hectares, so this location is more than twice as large. They haven’t released the exact number of products available, but it’s said that around 100,000 items
are sold just within this store. The aisles here are much wider than at the Shibuya location because the store has more floor space,
which makes shopping easier. You can also use a shopping cart, so you can take your time
and enjoy a relaxed shopping experience. One of the highlights of this Don Quijote is the snack section. The shelves are filled with snacks from all over Japan,
so they probably have just about everything. Even we, who grew up in Japan,
discovered many snacks we’d never seen before. There is also a wide variety of KitKats,
which are super popular among international tourists. They have cup noodles from all over Japan. They also have a wide variety of bento boxes, and you can even get onigiri at lower prices
than most convenience stores. They have seafood bowls, sushi, and bento boxes, and they also sell freshly baked pizza made right in the store. The 1st floor is mainly for food,
and the 2nd floor has clothes and cosmetics. They have way more suitcase options here
than at the Don Quijote in Shibuya. The T-shirt section is also really spacious. The cosmetics section is spacious and really easy to shop in. There is even a Sanrio merchandise section. There is also a food court inside the Don Quijote building. It has 4 different shops and is bustling with lots of people. In Aichi Prefecture, where this Don Quijote is located, Ankake spaghetti is popular, and there is a restaurant
which has been around since 1965 in this food court. This is their most popular dish, called Milano. It’s ankake spaghetti topped with French fries, sausages,
and grated cheese. It’s served on a hot iron plate,
so you can enjoy it piping hot until the very end. The sausages and French fries aren’t amazing,
but they’re good. The pasta is thick and chewy. The tomato-based sauce has a slight tartness,
along with the spiciness and aroma of black pepper. There is also a sweetness from the onions, making it delicious. In this food court, there is Fujiyama Go Go,
a popular ramen shop from Aichi Prefecture. Their most popular dish is tsukemen. It uses a pork bone-based broth
and is known for its thick noodles. The soup has a rich pork bone flavor,
and the fish powder gives it a great aroma. The noodles have a chewy texture
and a subtle sweetness from the wheat. There’s no strong fish or pork smell,
so it’s a great choice if it’s your first time trying tsukemen. There is also a McDonald’s in the food court. We’ll briefly introduce a few items you should try
at McDonald’s in Japan. First up is a breakfast-exclusive item
you won’t find at McDonald’s in the U.S. This is the Chicken McMuffin. There is a crispy chicken patty sandwiched
between a freshly baked and fluffy muffin. The outside of the muffin is crispy, and the inside is soft. The mayonnaise sauce is creamy,
and the texture of the lettuce adds a nice accent. The chicken is freshly fried, so it’s piping hot,
and the meat is tender and juicy. We will introduce another breakfast menu item
not found in the US. This is the Bacon Egg McSandwich. It’s made with the same fluffy buns as the Filet-O-Fish,
and it’s sandwiched with bacon, egg, and cheese. The bacon has just the right amount of fat, and it’s juicy. The egg yolk is soft-boiled and creamy. The cheese enhances the flavor even more. Next up are desserts and side dishes. First up is the McFloat Melon. This is a popular drink in Japan,
melon-flavored soda topped with soft-serve ice cream. The soft-serve has a rich milk flavor
and is just the right sweetness. The aftertaste is refreshing. The soda is sweet and has a nice aroma of melon. Next, we will introduce Petit Pancakes. There are seven bite-sized pancakes. We eat them with this apple and cream pancake syrup. They also have a sweet milk flavor. The apple syrup has a sweetness and a subtle tartness. Next up is the Shaka-Shaka Chicken. This one is a larger piece of chicken with a thick batter,
and it’s deep-fried. The subtly spiced batter has a crispy texture, and it’s addictive. By the way, you can choose one of two seasonings
for this chicken for free. This is a Red Pepper. After adding the powder, close the bag
and shake it to evenly coat the powder all over and it’s done. The spiciness of the chili pepper is great. It’s quite spicy, so be careful if you don’t like spicy flavors. The other flavor is Cheddar Cheese. It has a rich cheese taste and nice aroma. If you don’t like spicy foods, we recommend the cheese flavor. Alright, let’s introduce hamburgers. First one is the Big Mac
which is the most classic item at McDonald’s. It’s the most popular menu item in Japan. I’ve had it in another country before,
but I think the taste is the same. But the size and price might be different, so if there are any differences between your country’s Big Mac
and Japan’s, please let us know in the comments. Next up, we will have the Bacon Lettuce Burger. It’s sandwiched between sesame seed buns with a beef patty,
lettuce, bacon, and cheese. It’s topped with generous amount of mayonnaise sauce,
giving it a creamy and rich flavor. The saltiness of the bacon and cheese
makes it even more delicious. From here on, we will introduce menu items
that you can only enjoy in Japan. First up, we will have the Teriyaki McBurger. It has been a popular and classic menu item
for over 30 years since its release in 1989. The mayonnaise sauce
enhances the richness of the flavor even more. The teriyaki sauce has a rich flavor,
so it’s recommended for those who love strong flavors. By the way, the Teriyaki Chicken Filet-O,
which changes the pork patty for chicken, is also popular. The sweet sauce topped with crispy chicken is great. The next one is the Shrimp Filet-O. It’s topped with a sauce made from a blend of mayonnaise
and ketchup. The finely chopped onions add a nice texture. The shrimp is plump and sweet. There is also mustard inside, so it has a subtle spiciness,
giving it a nice accent. Finally, let us introduce the Samurai Mac Burger
with two beef patties. The Roasted Soy Sauce includes garlic,
so it has a wonderful aroma. The beef patties use coarsely ground meat,
giving them a nice meaty texture. The melted cheddar cheese is rich and incredibly delicious. Mega Don Quijote Toyohashi is a bit far
from Japan’s main tourist spots, but it’s like a theme park
where you can spend the whole day having fun. Be sure to check it out when you come to Japan! Planning a trip to Japan? Now, we’ll introduce MEGA Don Quijote Narimasu, the biggest Don Quijote in Tokyo, conveniently
located for tourists visiting the city. It opened in March 2024 and has shops on floors
from the basement to the 6th floor. On the 6th floor, you’ll find DAISO. The store is spacious and has a wide selection of products. Next is the 5th floor. There is an amusement arcade on this floor. There are many claw machines, including lots of KIRBY items. Pokémon and ONE PIECE are very popular. There is also a claw machine with cup noodles. Taiko no Tatsujin, a game where you play
along with the rhythm of the music, is a lot of fun. Next to the amusement arcade, there is a Kura Sushi. At this Kura Sushi, sushi plates start at 130 yen each. The Shibuya store charges 150 yen per plate,
so this place is 20 yen cheaper. We’ll introduce the top 5 sushi items that are popular
with international tourists. In 5th place is the Salmon Cheese. It’s topped with cheese sauce and lightly seared. The rich cheese and the fatty salmon are a perfect match. In 4th place is the tuna seasoned with salt. It’s lighter and more refreshing than tuna eaten with soy sauce. You can enjoy the natural flavor of the tuna. In 3rd place is the beef short ribs. It has a nice aroma from the sweet sauce. It has just the right amount of fat and melts in your mouth. In 2nd place is the premium tuna. It uses Southern Bluefin Tuna, which has a particularly excellent flavor
compared to other types of tuna. The taste is rich and incredibly delicious. In 1st place is salmon. It’s fresh with no fishy smell. It has just the right amount of fat. We’ll briefly introduce 2 other popular menu items
besides sushi. First up is the deep-fried takoyaki. It’s made to order, so it’s served piping hot. The outside is crispy, and the inside is creamy. The sauce has a rich flavor. Lastly, we have the miso ramen. The broth is made from seafood, giving it a wonderful aroma. The chashu pork and soft-boiled egg melt in your mouth. The noodles are thick and chewy. It’s a small portion,
so you can still enjoy it even after eating sushi. Next is the 4th floor. All the lower floors, including this one, are Don Quijote stores. On the 4th floor, you’ll find a variety of home appliances
and beauty products. Also, there are many toys and popular character merchandise. There is a particularly large selection of Sanrio products. You can also find a wide variety of games
and Pokémon plush toys. Stationery is especially popular on this floor. They offer a wide selection of products,
just like a specialty store. Next, let’s head to the 3rd floor. This floor mainly has clothing and shoes. You can also find earphones and smartphone chargers. The cosmetics section is so spacious. There is also a wide variety of suitcases available. One of the recommendations
is the Don Quijote-exclusive Sanrio neck pillow. The eye masks and suitcase belts
are also exclusive to Don Quijote. This floor has a lot of character merchandise as well. It’s rare to find capsule toys at Don Quijote. You can even find capsule toys with brand-name items. There are 2 machines: one costs 5,000 yen per play
and the other costs 10,000 yen per play. It’s expensive, but you should try it if you’re interested! Next is the 2nd floor. This floor is mainly for food products. There is a wide variety of frozen foods and bread, with about twice the selection
you’d find at other Don Quijote stores. The deli section is very popular. You can buy freshly made bento boxes prepared here. Beyond the deli section, you’ll find TOROLISTA. You can buy pizzas baked in a 400-degree oven here. There are a variety of pizzas. There is a wide variety of fresh vegetables
in the produce section. The meat section is especially bustling with people. One of the most popular spots is Oniku-no-Yamasan. You can buy high-quality Wagyu in chunks. The seafood section is very spacious. There is a wide variety of sushi and seafood bowls,
with a selection that’s almost like a specialty store. Next is the 1st floor. There are daily necessities like shampoo
and detergents on this floor. You can also find drinks here, including premium alcohol. The snack section is especially large. You can buy international snacks as well. There is also a bulk snacks section. By the way, there is a BURGER KING on the 1st floor. It’s so popular that there are lines during lunchtime. There is a variety of menu items,
but we’ll introduce a burger exclusive to Japan. It’s the Teriyaki Whopper. The patty is flame-grilled, giving it a savory aroma. The teriyaki sauce is less sweet compared to McDonald’s. It’s great that it has plenty of vegetables. It’s only available in Japan, so be sure to try it! On the basement floor, there is a pachinko parlor
where you can play pachinko, a Japanese gambling game. It’s bustling with people. Now, let’s introduce 12 recommended foods
you can buy at Don Quijote Narimasu. First up is the seafood bowl. It looks amazing! It’s topped with 8 types of ingredients such as tuna,
negitoro, salmon, squid, shrimp, salmon roe, and more. The salmon has a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The squid and salmon roe also have great textures. The tamagoyaki has a subtle sweetness from the dashi. The tuna is rich and flavorful. What a luxurious seafood bowl! Next up is the pizza. It’s topped with beef short ribs. The crust is thin and crispy. The beef short ribs are seasoned with a sweet sauce
and go well with the mayonnaise. The aroma and spiciness of the black pepper
enhance the flavor. Next is the menchi katsu. It’s large, about the size of a fist, and very satisfying. It’s made with coarse breadcrumbs,
which gives it a great texture. It’s juicy because it’s made with minced pork and beef. It makes you crave a beer! Next up is the egg sandwich. It’s made with 2.5 eggs, so it’s irresistible for egg lovers. The bread is soft and moist. The mayonnaise sauce is a perfect match. Next is the roast beef bowl. It’s topped with both diced and sliced roast beef. It has a nice aroma of balsamic vinegar sauce. The roast beef is thick but still tender. It has a rich flavor that goes well with the rice. The avocado sauce is creamy. This is surimi, a type of thin, flat grilled fish paste,
packaged in wrapping that looks like Japanese yen. It’s pretty big for a snack! The surimi has a sweet flavor that increases with each bite. The simple taste goes well with alcohol. It’s affordably priced, so you should try it! This is a rice cracker. It’s seasoned with a popular topping from Don Quijote
made with sesame seeds and garlic. The texture is crispy and light. The flavors of sesame and garlic
spread throughout your mouth. The flavor is addictive. These are limited-time potato chips. It’s seasoned with salt and vinegar. It has a subtle tartness from the vinegar
and a refreshing aftertaste. It’s great that it’s affordably priced. Next up is sweet potato. It’s cut into small pieces and packaged in a bag,
making it perfect for souvenirs. The bite-sized sweet potatoes are moist and smooth. There is no seasoning,
but they have a natural sweetness like a dessert. Next up is the Ichiran cup ramen. It’s a limited-edition product with a spicy flavor. After pouring hot water into the cup and waiting for 4 minutes,
add the 2 types of soup base. Once you stir it well, add the spicy miso, and it’s ready. It has a nice aroma of tonkotsu ramen. The noodles are thin and have a texture similar to
what you’d find at the restaurant. It’s a bit pricey for a cup ramen with no toppings,
but if you like Ichiran, give it a try. Next up is Wagyu. It’s rich in fat, and the marbling is beautiful. It’s perfect for a steak. It melts in your mouth. It’s well-marbled with high-quality fat,
and it’s incredibly delicious. Lastly, we have sushi. This set includes 24 pieces of sushi with 8 different varieties. The raw shrimp has a plump texture. The scallops have a natural sweetness. The salmon roe has just the right amount of saltiness
from the soy sauce. The medium-fatty tuna is rich and melts in your mouth. It’s amazing that you can enjoy authentic sushi
at an affordable price, just like what you’d get at a sushi restaurant. This Don Quijote has a wide variety of food products, so if you want to enjoy delicious food, it’s highly recommended. Finally, we’ll introduce the Don Quijote
that just opened in June 2025. The closest station is Shinjuku Station. The nearest exit is the Southeast Concourse,
right in front of the South East Gate. There is also Don Quijote Shinjuku Southeast Exit
about a one-minute walk from the Southeast Concourse, but that’s not the one we’re introducing here. The one we’re introducing this time
is Don Quijote Shinjuku Southeast Exit Annex. It’s located just a one-minute walk
from Don Quijote Shinjuku Southeast Exit. It’s the 4th Don Quijote store in Shinjuku,
and it opened in June 2025. This location is mainly for international tourists
and has floors from the 1st to the 4th. Compared to the 2 large Don Quijote stores
we mentioned earlier, this one is smaller
and has an interior similar to the Don Quijote in Shibuya. The store is small, but it’s a great place for tourists
looking to buy Japanese souvenirs because it has a wide selection. They have dedicated sections for Sanrio items and Pokémon,
as well as a wide variety of other character merchandise. Popular items for tourists like T-shirts are also available. You’ll find lots of toys that you can only get in Japan,
as well as plenty of Shiba Inu-themed products. There’s a dedicated Kit Kat section, and the prices were cheaper
than at the biggest Don Quijote in Japan. There are also special sections for Ichiran ramen
and Starbucks. The store is very clean and has exciting decorations, so be sure to check it out when you’re shopping in Shinjuku!

Thank you! My brother and I are going to Japan in October, and we are so excited! We love watching your videos on places to go to.
Thank you!
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Cool place, i said to you that the first thing that i would in my first day in Japan was eat in conveyor belt sushi, well, after the conveyor belt sushi, i would go to Don Quijote to go shopping.
Great video as usual! Some suggestions. This is not a criticism. I noticed that Akanemaru sometimes pronounces "aroma" as "eh-row-mah" instead of "uh-row-mah". Also, "foreigner" as "faw-rye-nur" not "faw-ruh-nr".
10:06 As far as difference in McDonald’s: the food in Japanese McDonald’s is way better in terms of quality. The food in McDonald’s in the USA is complete slop because of corporate greed and cultural indifference.
Woah, thanks a lot for introducing Mega Don in Toyohashi. Appreciate it.
About the Big Mac, the price here in my country is 14.10 MYR (493 ¥). I'm not sure about the taste in Japan, but all I can tell is that the serving size is just about the same as the one you showed in this video, but with more lettuces and thinner beef patties. But Big Mac has now wasn't my favourite anymore. It's the double spicy beef burger, which is my newest favourite. The spicy sauce is so addictive, the soft fillet-o-fish buns, and slightly thicker beef patties are to die for.
Personally the breakfast fillet-o-fish at McDonald's hit the right spot.
adding to the list to visit next trip!!!!
The best store! I could have spent hours at the one I went to in Ginza!
A salesperson found the Best beauty facemasks for me, squid chips with exceptional flavor, and things I didn’t even know I needed! I bought a lot of practical stuff so that every day I’m reminded of Japan and my dream trip there!!!
Great video on the biggest Mega Don Quijote in Japan!
I'll definitely add that to my list of places to visit if I'm planning to come back to Japan one day.^^
Donki is going strong with all the tourists coming to Japan! We have few American Donki stores here in Los Angeles but they are inferior than Japan counterpart of course. Thank you for another awesome video!
@21:07 oishiiiiiii!!!!! 😍👌🏻
Wow so expensive cup noodles!!!! @24:11 😳
Great for a family!!! @25:08 👍🏻
WOW! Thanks for the video!
I would def spend a dedicated day here
We have the teriyaki whopper here in Hawaii, too. 😄
that big place in toyohashi is definitely more then just a "store". It´s a tourist destination. No matter they even have a hotel there 😂
But… I wouldn´t call "15 minutes by Taxi or bus" to be "near the station"
I went into a donki and saw an Indian man sniffing the womans underwear. At first I thought it was weird, But then I realized this is just a part of Japans diverse and vibrant new future.
5:45 oh no that doesn't look very good! haha its almost like they tried making an American dish but failed.
What a cool video! ty so much for posting this. I'm sitting here at home dreaming about some day having enough money to come visit. I save all the spots I would like to come see, and this is one of them 🙂
9:58 First its more than Double that cost here in the US. It is about $7 where I live just for the sandwich. it looks like your buns are a bit different on the BigMac compared to here in the US. Yours are fluffier. Also I see there doesn't appear to be a lot of dehydrated onions on the meat patties, and little to no salt/pepper. The patties here are grilled with a bunch of little diced onions on them and seasoned pretty heavily with salt/pepper.
DonZilla!!!!
What I loved about Donki when I was in Japan was that some are open to the early morning…ideal for when I couldn't sleep. I'd pop to the local Donki and have a wander around and buy some snacks.
Di italiano quei piatti non hanno NIENTE
If I remember right, the train ride from Tokyo Station to Toyohashi Station was about 30 minutes or so—maybe 45. (I took trains to many, many locations that trip!) It’s really not far at all.
putting this places on my travel list 🙂
I 100% miss the shrimp burgers from Japanese McDonalds, they are actually so good
I'll have to check that Donki out if I'm in the area on a future trip. Tho I'll be wary as I went on a special trip to a huge outer Tokyo one as recommended by another YouTube channel as being the biggest in Tokyo and it was rubbish compared to the Shibuya one and didn't seem big at all! Very few snacks and they had zero KitKats 😉
I wish I could afford to visit 🥲
Donki ikuyo.
