Liverpool FC Legends on Tour to Miyazaki, Japan
I thought he was my best mate. So you wish for the Premier League. I’ll wish for the Champions League. I told you he’s tight. Look… Hey, hey, hey, Paddy. Hello. Hello. I’m Paddy. Look at this, baby. And I’m Vladi. Okay. Hey, hey, hey. And with the Liverpool squad heading to Japan on the pre-season tour this summer. Vladi and I volunteered to go ahead and sample the incredible
Japan Airlines service. And to experience a bit of what Japan has to offer. Four different sakes. So I think I’ll sleep well. Bye… See you in fourteen hours. [Please do not leave items in the aisle] We’re going to Japan, so the only option I’ll go for is the Japanese menu. Okay. It looks, of course, different from
what I’m used to, but… I think I will like it. Oh. Very nice. See you later in Tokyo. We landed in Tokyo and hopped on a connecting
Japan Airlines flight. to our final destination, Miyazaki, in the South-West of Japan. First up, it’s a round of golf
at the Phoenix Country Club. Game on. Let’s go, Paddy. Let’s go mate. You know today, I feel okay Paddy. I feel good today. This is not a good hole for your ‘bananas.’ Good shot. It’s going to be a little adventure
for you from the trees. I told you he’s tight. Look… Hey, hey, hey, Paddy. Whoa… Whoa, whoa, whoa! Yes… Yes, Vladi. -Well done.
-Well played. Next, we headed to the Miyazaki Shrine. A 2,600-year-old temple surrounded by beautiful, relaxing grounds. Wow! Two bows. Ohhh… I think I pulled my hamstring. So, what did you wish for Vladi? Champions League or
champions of the Premier League? Champions of the Premier League. So you wish for the Premier League,
I’ll wish for the Champions League. And we’re sorted.
We have it. We’re covered. Okay, hopefully. Okay… I’ll go to the left top corner. That was my favourite spot. ‘Arigatō gozaimashita’
[Thank you very much] If Liverpool win the Premier League,
we’ll be back. It’s dinner time and we are going to enjoy
a private dining experience. So this is it, ‘Shikino’. Beautiful. That’s lovely. Yeah. It looks beautiful. It looks beautiful, yeah. This is everything we like, right. Yes. Fresh fish. Meat. Vegetables. Usually, we had before the games… We had only like… Pasta, chicken. -Fish.
-Pasta, chicken… Rice. So we could experience this only… Off season. We’re traveling a lot,
so we always try the local food. ‘Asia Kitchen’ has really good cuisine. I love it. So many different flavours… Oh my God. Paddy. Cheers. Hey, let’s do… Vladi, let’s do ours. Since we met each other. Yes. Here we go. As we did it, usually in Liverpool. With a beer. Having won the golf challenge, I had a little surprise in store for Paddy. I know you don’t like heights. Oh, okay. This place is famous for one suspension bridge and we will cross it. How high is it? It’s 142m high. Oh. And 250m long. So it should be… It should be a nice challenge for you. It’s… It’s tight. It’s very narrow. It’s moving a little bit. It is moving a little bit. It’s moving a little bit. Go straight, Paddy.
Don’t touch the bridge. Well, I’ll feel more comfortable… You know, just, feel
the ‘vibe’ of the bridge. I can look down. No, but definitely it looks a lot higher
than 152m or 142m. He’s a bit like…. [Beep] it is moving. It is moving. I thought he was my best mate. Oh my God. Yeah. I didn’t even realise that. [Beep] So Paddy. You made it to
the highest point of this bridge. 142m. I’m proud of you. You made a nice challenge and… -Thanks Vladi for looking after me.
-Well done. Next time, I’m going to make sure
that you’re going to lose. So that I don’t have to go through it again. Phew… it’s high. It is high. You need to have the confidence to just lie at the back. Like this… Try it. It’s easy! After dealing with the heights of
the suspension bridge, it was time for a drink. Hello. Vladimir. Hello. Nice to meet you. We headed to a local shochu brewery
to discover more about the traditional Japanese spirit
and how it’s made. Is it strong? How strong is it? How strong? 45? [%] Oof. It’s strong. We have seen enough…. Let’s go and have a little bit of tasting. We can do it. You know, we are from the Czech Republic. We know how to drink the spirits. Hey, Paddy. Do they say in Japanese ‘Ikki’ ? [in one go] ‘Ikki’ means bottoms up, right? It’s nice, I like it. Thank you. Vladi & Paddy. Vladi & Paddy on the tour, Miyazaki. Thank you. Thank you very much. Paddy. That’s it. Yeah, that’s it. What an unbelievable trip that was, wasn’t it? Top highlight? I think that right from the
start to the end, everything we have done,
I would give ten out of ten. Like the flight experience,
in business class was amazing. Food. Golf. Culture. And good to spend time together again. Again, Paddy. Yeah. I really missed our trips, you know. This is ten out of ten as well. Yeah. Cheers. Thank you, Japan Airlines,
for making this possible. Exactly. Thank you very much. It’s a lucky biscuit from the priest. Yeah. Teamwork, eh? Cheers.
