hey guys welcome to a new video so today’s our travel day we’re going to Japan for the first time ever we’re really really excited we’ve been planning this for about 11 months now uh we booked the flights uh in July last year um we’re traveling in June so not the best time to be going to Japan uh it’s rainy season but it was the time that worked for us but yeah super excited can’t wait we’re on the way to Heathrow now it’s nearly 6:00 and our flight is at 9:20 so yeah let’s go to Japan if you ride with me don’t got to work for the both of us i’ll put you in the jeep here we are we’re at Heathro terminal 5 just got here don’t know what the time is didn’t go to the car park around 6:00 so yeah here we go hopefully we can check our bags in [Music] so we’ve just made it through security terminal 5 now it took us like 5 minutes it’s super quick they have got new scanners though and Sam was saying that they don’t they might not need you to take the liquids out anymore so might have to look into that uh for any other trips but we don’t usually fly from PRO we usually go to Orlando which is usually from Gatwick but yeah super quick um and uh yeah now we’re just going to go pick up some food and chill uh because it’s now uh,4 to 7:00 in the morning and boarding doesn’t start till 8:20 so yeah let’s go look around Heathrow get some food and chill out yeah it’s time to pick up some snacks now oh they’ve got the new ones they’ve got the new um the citrus and the That’s not it it’s the sweet um sweet chili yeah sweet chili actually no it’s not wrong i’m not wrong i’m not wrong so come for me because you can’t but anyway back to what I was trying to say they’ve got the new Skittles and they both of them they’ll be so expensive in here don’t think it’s worth it but yeah we usually get meal deals but yeah I’ll show you what we get after i’ve also just spotted these which I’ve never seen before i might be late to the game but my god look at these they got So it looks like the owl Hedwig um the blighting bolt the hat and um Harry but with other things too they got the snitch and stuffed as well but it’s just so expensive look at it £469 man it’s a joke but yeah anything Harry Potter filmed with we’re there snacks have been secured at Demmith now I’m going to go get some milk and hopefully they’ve got my flavor fingers crossed this is like the only place I can get it from the airport so really hopefully I can get it can we even find it at the minute they better have it i’m going to cry oh here oh I’ve got it oh and it’s two for 11 yeah bye-bye goodbye money yes so we’ve just sat down now and these are my sandwiches about our sandwich choice well Sam nearly actually picked up the Cajun one back but this is it is definitely sweet chili one we like then uh I got the chicken and sweet corn and then Sam got the chicken and stuffing um tried to convince me to get the triple don’t know why um but then obviously got my milker um and I got a packet of crisp and obviously a monster too so yeah just been sat down for a bit now we just had a sandwich i had a line of milker and it was delicious it hit the spot so much i love that chocolate it’s like my favorite um but yeah now we’re just waiting sam just checked and we will know the gate uh in about half an hour it’s 10 to uh 8 because we have to start boarding at 8:20 so yeah not too bad not too much longer to wait uh but yeah I just want to tell you a bit about the flight and what we booked and stuff so basically uh we actually used companion vouchers for this flight and it cost us £520 for both of us to fly to Hanita airport uh with this British Airways from uh London Heathrow today if you didn’t use the companion vouchers it would have cost two grand so we saved oursel about £1,500 on these flights which is incredible we um to get the companion voucher we actually have a British Airways AMX card um you just use it as you usually would on your day-to-day purchases not everywhere accepts AMX so that’s the only thing uh but yeah that’s how we’ve managed to get that so yeah we got that last year in July and that’s why we booked immediately uh cuz you get the best available times uh if you book far in advance so that’s why we uh went for that um but yeah so we managed to book for Japan we booked at the time we were like “Oh do we actually want to go we’re not sure.” before but we booked it anyway cuz you can get a refund on those flights with the companion vouchers you can just get a refund you can cancel and just get your AIOS and your money back um but yeah but now we’re actually going so yeah super excited can’t wait uh just going to chill here for a bit longer we have got um eims for our trip so we’re just going to activate those in a second ready for when we arrive um we’ve also done our visas online too uh ahead of time cuz you can fill them out on the plane uh but we have done all that uh not visas it’s just I don’t know what it is it’s a de declaration form not visa because you don’t need a visa from the UK unless you’re staying there for 90 days or more but yeah so um yeah just going to chill out i’m going to eat a bit more i think we’re going to share our other sandwich and then we’re going to head to the gate time to go to the gate woohoo [Music] i’m coming [Music] so we’ve just got to the B gates now and uh we’re just chilling it’s now 8:00 i think boarding starts in 20 minutes so we’ve got a bit of time to chill i’m just going to go grab a fizzy drink just cuz I like to have that as well as water and we have our monsters when we get there so yeah but yeah so the plan obviously is when we get there so we’re going to arrive at 11:00 p.m uk time which is 8 no 7:00 a.m uh Japan time so um yeah it’s going So it’s going to be 7 a.m japan time so we need to try and sleep on this flight if we can just to kind of cuz we are going to be out literally all day so yeah the plan when we get there check our bags in uh we’re staying at the hotel grocery I don’t know how to pronounce it in Shinjuku then we are going to Harajuku and Shabuya for the rest of the day so yeah looking forward to that obviously on this trip we are going obviously going to go to Disney of course this is me and Sam of course we’re going to Disney uh so we’re gonna experience two new parks Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea that’s good um and then we’re also going to Osaka later in the trip to go to Universal and explore around there so yeah follow along for more content coming soon wait a minute just been called to board the plane it is 20 to 9 now and the plane is leaving at 20 9 so yeah 40 minutes to go excited i’m very excited i just want to get this flight even done with to honest I can barely do the one to LA for 11 hours so extra couple hours is going to be tough but we’ll get there excited though oh what’s a place hi welcome on board i officially can’t travel on four seats in the middle anymore why you love it so much leg room cuz my bag fits literally under a chair rather than the in the middle being in the middle you can now put your bag like on the left hand side and then your feet can slide under as well and we haven’t got to bugger around or anything bliss lovely sam set up very excited we’re now on board the flight it’s uh nearly 10 to 9 now and like Sam was just saying the seats are really all right aren’t they for economy they’re not too bad at all um so yeah I’m just going to set get set up get all our bits out get my fluffy socks out get all my bits and pieces look at my cable and stuff and uh get settled for the 13 and 1 half hour flight I think it is um so yeah uh we’ll show you what food we potentially get to uh but I definitely plan sleeping most of the time so All customers have now boarded and we are about to pause our inflight entertainment to brief you on the safety procedures of this aircraft empty seat Sam [Laughter] so ready i’m so ready to sleep so just looking at the new films that they’ve got on this flight so we’ve got the new Snow White they’ve got the new Captain America which I think Sam’s going to watch dogman film wicked pton which we have seen um obviously other films but I’m not a massive film person to be honest sam’s watched that already i’m sure Sam will want to watch some of these for sure um yeah that’s just to show you what’s on this flight so just for reference today’s date is uh 6th of June so Friday the 6th of June 2025 yeah this what the films they have we’ve been on the flight for maybe about half an hour now uh left at 10:00 um and it’s now saying that it’s we’re going to get in at uh 6:45 so it’s another 12 hours and 16 minutes right now um I’m trying to have a sleep on the flight i take Travis’s pills anyway so it usually like doses me off anyway um but yeah so we’ve just been brought around our first drink so yeah um now I’m just going to chill out and uh wait for the food it’s now 11:00 and we’ve just been bought our first bit of food so I actually went for the mushroom riatoni for this and this is what I got um so and then we also got a sticky toffee pudding which also looks good too roll um and crackers and then peas too and then Sam decided to go with the pork oh nice oh my gosh that looks really good yeah that looks nice that’s delicious nice so we’re going to enjoy this and then go back to sleep I think for me [Music] [Music] so I haven’t checked in for a while but uh we’re now 1 hour 35 away to go which can’t wait now very ready to get off the plane but yeah we’ve just been given food so uh we’ve just been given breakfast so I’ve gone for the scrambled egg um it’s then with um the sausage uh tomatoes and mushrooms so yeah um I think Sam’s probably going to go to the same and orange juice and then um yeah start getting ready to like putting our stuff away and stuff so then we’re ready for when the flight lands so you just can’t wait to get off now it’s just we’ve been on here for 14 by the time we’re up you know it’s near three and a 13 and 1/2 hours by the time we get off the plane so um yeah it’s our longest flight that we’ve done so and I always struggle anyway um but yeah let’s get off in an hour so this is what breakfast looks like which I was just mentioning before and then you also do get a little um muffin too which I’ll definitely be eating that and then just a little pot of fruit as well then obviously got orange juice yeah looks all right i’m not sure about the eggs we’ll see i’m not sure if I’ll eat that but I’ll definitely eat the sausage at least so yeah doesn’t matter too much anyway cuz we’re going to go straight out with food after so Tokyo we’ve made some excellent time on the trip actually we’re running about 15 minutes ahead of schedule now starting our descent in about 10 minutes time we’re anticipating a further shortcut still so if you are using the the time shown on your inflight entertainment screen we can expect to be about 10 minutes ahead of that it’s very pleasant day it’s warm 23° C just clouds around but they’re all very high level and it’s fairly breezy with a strong wind from the south because of the strength of the wind and the fact that um the airport doesn’t like us overflying the city due to the noise we’ll make our approach over the sea today and then uh turn left to land on the runway fairly late on it’s quite unusual um for us to be turning this low so it will feel unusual but it is perfectly normal and expected so the seat belt signs we switched on in about 20 minutes time and we’re landing 40 minutes from now car 40 minutes to landing let’s go 40 minutes to go can’t wait we’re getting off the plane woo it is 10 to 7 local time now which is about 10 to 11 so yeah let’s get off yeah one of those forms is one per person and one of them is one per family oh no whoops oh my god wow i can’t believe this this is mad we’ll see you soon Orlando but for now we’re going to enjoy Japan [Music] it’s definitely warm in here there’s no doubt about it being cool the air con is north on Oh no so I know this is a bit weird to film but just coming to the toilet first Japan toilet going to get changed though but yeah I think I’ve come into a disabled one but I just need to get changed [Music] yeah I feel better now we’ve changed don’t you yeah I feel better i bring a fresh top rather than brush my teeth see a top just bring an extra top make a big difference we’ve here we just got through right right taxi let’s go [Music] and then obviously if we were getting the Montreal we just got we would have got the the the key June line I think foreign speech foreign speech foreign speech so we’ve just made it into a taxi we went down to level um I think it’s 1 F which I think is means uh floor one um and we got a taxi there’s loads of taxis outside it was easier for us with our big case and things so I think they’ve quoted us £9,000 yen which is around4 something50 so not too bad we’re quite happy it would have obviously been a lot cheaper if you go on the train a lot lot cheaper but we just want to get to the hotel drop our bags off and get out and explore like I mentioned earlier in the video we are going to Harajuku first um and then later on the day we’re going to Shabuya because we’ve also got Shabuya Sky booked for I think 6:40 so we’re going to be very tired right now like by the end of the day this video we’re going to be so tired but we need to get on time zone so yeah um very excited we are going to I think the hotel Grac Grassery Gracery not sure in Shinjuku that’s where the Godzilla head is um and that’s where we’re staying for two nights um so yeah we’ll show you once we get there we obviously can’t check in right now cuz it is only 8:00 a.m local time uh in Japan so we’re just going to drop off our bags and go out and explore [Music] we just arrived at uh I never know how to pronounce this but we’ve just arrived at the hotel base in Shinjuku it’s now half 8 so we’re not doing too badly considering we started getting off the plane i think we landed at um650 so yeah not bad it was um the taxi was £9,050 yen in the end so not bad i think that’s under £50 so I’m super happy with that um yeah and now we’re here so we’re going to drop our bags off and then uh we’re going to go out and explore let’s go [Music] you’re [Music] I love the So we’ve just dropped our bags off oh perfect and now we’re heading into 7-Eleven yeah oh my god wow we’ve been looking forward to this moment ooh Oreo sandwich bits oh god yeah okay I’m going to be happy here i’m going to be happy oh no no I’m not happy about that no thank you it’s quite few people in this store i suppose it’s quite popular one [Music] so the first thing on our list is 100% get the egg salad 100% i don’t know how much it is but we’re getting it [Music] oh yeah it’s the curry bread that we will want cheese curry bread ooh oh there’s the buns right now no no no as in later if we’re hungry yeah i feel like we should save oursel a little bit for Harajuku we’ve just come outside we picked up Fanta Melon and oranguri and the egg salad sandwich so let’s open it up and give it a try this is our breakfast this morning well we kind of had breakfast on the plane but I didn’t really eat it to be honest i only ate the sausage and the mushroom this is the famous egg uh sandwich that everyone goes on about so excited to try this sam’s struggling to get into it i think everyone said that it was a struggle to get into the sandwiches okay doesn’t really smell much they’re super soft so soft ah go for it it’s super creamy yeah super fru so they weren’t wrong it doesn’t really taste of egg well does it taste of cream i can’t wait to try this fruit ones i literally can’t wait yeah it literally tastes like really soft white bread like normal white bread and just cream doesn’t taste like egg at all there is no egg flavor yeah do you like it i can see why people say he’s banging they’re good yeah you enjoy it right i’m going to give it a go now there it is i’m going to try it oh my god okay i love it i love it oh my god that is ridiculously creamy oh my god oh we’ve hit we’re here we’re here we’ve made it we’ve made it oh god it’s so good oh I’m so pleased to be here it’s incredible oh so good so so good it’s delicious i can actually see why people are like I can’t leave Tokyo without getting another one well you know we’re getting it from the airport for the plane all the way home you already worked out there one airport so yeah and this is right on the outside of the hotel too so this is perfect yeah first stop 7-Eleven it’s must it’s got to be done [Music] you pull down yeah okay I think I got it so pull down yeah you gonna do it properly let’s see pull back can you do it the first time pull back and then pull to the side nearly neary oh no no no this is tough man oh I think I just didn’t pull it far enough back oh no now we’re right underneath we’ll just pull it up a little bit further then okay right so I’m personally not looking forward to this only because of what it is on the inside cuz it’s tuna mayo which I’ve never been a fan of it but I’m willing to try and if I throw up I throw up that is so dramatic it stinks that’s just a seaweed isn’t it just don’t take a massive bite i love the way I’ve made you try it first i think I can smell it from here i don’t really get any filling but I don’t really want to okay I’ll try it then give it here okay so I’m going to try bit now i am a bit scared but we just got to try it tastes like tuna it does taste like tuna i quite like it this is something to get used to though the wrapping like the seaweed isn’t it but now I didn’t mind the seaweed wrapping and the rice but yeah you’re biting into paper by the way why that bit well I’m not supposed to eat that that’s not That’s not anything that’s the wrapper why is that in between then that’s how it is and that’s why people find it so difficult to unwrap oh I just assume that that was part of it whoops yeah that’s just that’s what that’s why people are like “Oh it takes a couple of goes to get it right cuz the instructions aren’t exactly the easiest to follow.” Oh sunset that’s actually the wrapping yeah I quite like it i I’d be excited to try maybe not a a fish flavor they do couple if if there’s one that’s like a pork flavor I’d be I’d definitely be up to try to try that but yeah how much was our order we brought a melon uh all of it together egg sandwich it was 500 something something yeah cuz we had 470 back or something like that and we gave 1,000 so yeah it’s all right it’s actually not bad yeah so final thing we’re going to try now that we brought from 7-Eleven this morning is the melon Fanta it smells like what back in the UK there’s these like small bottles of really fake like pop like the blue pop right it smells exactly like that like super super sweet yeah it’s all right it’s not bad it’s um It’s not a particularly overpowering flavor oh okay i wouldn’t I wouldn’t I personally wouldn’t say it’s really really sweet no it smells sweeter than it probably is oh okay right okay yeah that’s right so Kirsty’s going to try the melon plant now i see what you mean yeah yeah i like it but it’s not like something I get my It’s not like something I’m Oh my god I must get some more of this yeah i’m not sure but I don’t really drink food drinks that often anyway so no you don’t it’s a bit of a odd taste but yeah it’ll do just as a little drink that we can do perfectly for today so yeah ideal yeah so now we’re going to make our way towards Harajuku so we just got to try and find out where we’re going we just got to find the Shinjuku station to find out where we’re going but yeah I think Shinjuku Station’s quite a way away but it’s 8 minutes walk so all right we’re going to make our way there yeah perfect let’s go so that’s it for this video i’ve decided to split these into two so that travel day and day one Join us on our travel day from LHR to HND on our first ever trip to Japan! We booked a two week trip to explore the cities in Japan, Tokyo Disney, Osaka and Universal Studios Japan!

In this video we travel to Heathrow Airport to board our 14 hour British Airways flight to Haneda Airport in Japan. We arrive in Japan at 7am local time on Saturday 7th June and jump straight into a taxi to take us to Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, so that we could drop our bags off and head straight out to the city – which will be in the next video! Our first stop in Japan had to be 7-Eleven though to get the Egg Sando which was so good, you must go to the convenient stores whilst you are there to get food.

For this trip we used our companion vouchers that we received through our BA AMEX card which allows you to get much cheaper flights. We paid £260 each for a return flight instead of £1,000 each, which saved us nearly £1,500 in total!

We also recommend completing your immigration forms before you arrive, you can do this via Visit Japan Web and then you only have to scan a QR code once you land. If you don’t do this, then you will need to fill out forms which are provided once you exit the plane.

One final thing I wanted to mention is that we activated our e-sims in Heathrow airport that we brought this through Holafly using a discount code. This was very simple to setup and it worked when we arrived, but the signal was very patchy throughout the whole trip so please keep that in mind.
