How to ship packages home from Japan #shopping #travelhacks #japan

you came to Japan to shop so don’t let your luggage space hold you back Here’s a travel hack you want to save Go to Japan Post and pick up a box We got the largest size for 300 yen They even sell tape and bubble wrap for just an extra 400 yen Then you’re going to wrap up all your treasures in your clothes making sure to stuff all the empty spaces so nothing is moving around Our box weighed around 30 lbs by the time I was done And as you’re packing go to the Japan Post website for surface shipping And you’ll need to document every item in your parcel with its approximate weight and value Worry about being precise about the weight because they will weigh the box Again next head to your Japan post before 5:00 p.m if you’re going on a weekday And check the hours for the weekend operations because not every post office is open during the weekend It cost us about 9,000 yen to ship and it arrived about a month later to Canada And the best part is when you get your package and you forgot everything you packed it’s like Christmas morning when you unbox everything

Don’t let your luggage space hold you back from your full shopping potential. Here’s how you can ship things home from Japan.

It cost ¥9000 to ship 30lbs back to Canada and it arrived a month later. It was cheaper than buying an extra luggage and paying to check an additional bag!

Save this for your next Japan travel or send it to a friend who can use this tip.

  1. The better option….wait until you are about to leave, and then mail home all clothing that you already own and took with you on your travels, and keep all the items you purchased as your luggage, that way if anything goes wrong, all you lost were some old clothing you already used and probably have more of at home, but you have the items you purchased with you and no waiting for the mail.
