I got to ride the Pikachu train in Japan! βš‘πŸš† and there is another beautiful place along the way!

[Music] hi everyone my name is Matina and I want to help you to make the best out of your Japan trip it is my goal to visit all of the perfeures on Japan and today we’re on the way to cross off another bucket list point for that we took a shinkan from Sundai to Ichinoeki which took around 30 minutes the weather was so nice in Sai but it got cloudier and cloudier as the day progressed [Music] and here we see the first hints about what we will be doing today but I also loved that they had a muscard for the linear collider that they want to bring to the city only in Japan it was so funny think you already know what we want to do here we are taking the Pikachu train that runs from here as part of Tohoku were badly hit by the tsunami in 2011 the IATA prefecture wants to get more tourists to this place which is why the Pikachu train is here you can book the tickets 1 month prior and usually it runs on the weekends but you can read all about it in the link in the caption i love that the whole station was on brand you really knew where you had to go to and there were plenty of stamp stations as well at this train station i was so excited when the train arrived it looked so cute and it only has a few seats in the first wagon while there is a small play area in the second one enjoy it as long as it’s closed off and empty the details are so nice even though it’s very popular it is so clean [Music] after driving for a little while the play area opens up but to enter it you have to take off your shoes there are many photo opportunities and Pikachu plushies and accessories to use but I also have to say it was quite loud in here so I got a little bit overstimulated it was still very very nice though the train stops at five stations and there you can take a little break which allows you to collect the stamps everywhere and then the final station is Kzanuma which is right the coast since we had a 5-hour train ride ahead of us on the day I chose the second stop on this train which was Gabk i saw online that there is a dreamy gorge on which you can take a boat and it’s not as popular as the other one in Kyushu that we’ve been to so you don’t have to pre-book anything we sadly left the train then but I was excited for our next adventure the boats come every 30 minutes here and it costs around 1,800 yen i also saw that the boatmen were singing during the ride so I was ready for some Animal Crossing vibes we picked up our tickets and chose a seat on the boat since it was rainy they were covered which was a bit sad in terms of the view but on the other hand it was nice that the pillows were dry you also pass a little shrine where people try to throw in a coin so that their wishes will come true kevin unfortunately missed it but we still had fun and after 30 minutes we arrived at the gorge you are free to explore the area for around 20 minutes [Music] [Music] it was so beautiful and as we saw some people that were throwing stones at the rocks we found this little stall that was selling stones with different meanings and fortunes if you were able to hit the hole in the cliffs your stone wish would come true fast again we didn’t make it but it was a nice experience and it was so much fun [Music] we had to head back to the boat and the ride back was so beautiful as there was mist because of the rain and then our boatman prepared and he finally did it he started singing i was so excited i was a bit sad because after a while people started to talk while he was performing and I wanted to listen and just enjoy the scenery but it was still such a unique memory in general the whole trip took around 1 hour 30 and when we returned we still had so much time until our train would come back so we looked for some food spots in the area but there wasn’t even a conveni just a restaurant that was 15 minutes away so of course we walked there and in the beginning we weren’t even sure if they were open but we opened the door and were welcomed by an elderly couple this was the cheapest restaurant meal I ever had in Japan and the size and taste were so good it was totally worth the walk and they also had autographs and newspaper articles hanging on the wall so I guess some famous TV stars visited them we headed back to the station where a normal train came instead of the PokΓ©mon train and it got us to Ichinoi station where we had time again to wait for our Shinkansen so we visited this cafe kevin got a really nice coffee while a matcha was more like the overpriced stuff that you can get in Germany but at least it has a normal price here [Music] yeah everyone that’s it for today it is a shorter vlog since we spend the rest of the day heading to Matsumoto which is close to Nagago but I am so excited for the next few vlogs we visited so many cool places so yeah see you then please feel free to leave a like a comment or subscribe i would really appreciate it and see you next week bye-bye everyone

  1. The pikatchu Train was really cool and a must visit for every pokemon/Pikachu Fan. BUT the Gorge was breathtaking its a must see in my opinion. And I had my fun with the Fischies

  2. The Geibikei Gorge looks lovely. Iwate prefecture is not an area I have ever considered visiting before watching your video — thanks for the inspiration.
