▼About the Iruma Manto Festival
The name comes from the custom of displaying “Manto” and (Hanagasa, Chochin, etc.) at the gates of festivals held at shrines and temples in the city to pray for the safety and health of the family. This reflects our desire to cherish traditional culture, as well as our hope and hope for “Matsuri” that will continue to be ‘the light that shines in the future’ and ‘a light that shines at the feet of citizens’. Also, “Manto” literally means ‘a lot of light’. This name was given to the place where many people gather with lights, based on the idea that new contact with people and crowds begin.
