Get out of the airport in Japan 3X FASTER!
You NEED to do these 4 things before boarding your flight to Japan for a smooth first few hours upon landing in Japan all the way to your hotel:
1. Fill up the immigration and customs declaration form online via the Visit Japan website and take a screenshot of the QR code generated at the end of the process (you’ll need to show the immigration and customs officers your passport and the QR code)
2. Set up your virtual Suica card and top it up in advance. Android users, you’ll have to get a physical one at the airport train station (you can get it from one of the Commuter Pass vending machines or just look for the JR East Travel Service Center which is always my first option)
3. SIM cards and pocket wifis at the airport are overpriced because they know they can charge more for tourists that arrive without preparation! Get an eSiM and install it in your phone so when you land in Japan, all you need to do is switch it on and you’ll be connected. You’ll definitely need it to use Google Maps to navigate your way to your hotel.
4. Plan ahead the route you’ll be taking from the airport to your hotel. Check the form of transport l’ve shared in the video and see which one stops at the closest station to your hotel. Some of them require a separate ticket where you can usually book it via Klook- use my promo code to save money: ITSGRACECHINKLOOK
