I brought over from Japan to California a 1998 Chaser Tourer V JZX100. I love it and want to keep it but I'm also debating on selling it because that might be a better financial move. Basic rundown:
1998
130,000 mile / 210,000 km
1JZGTE Turbo
Factory 5 speed
Good condition
No mechanical issues
AC works well
Aftermarket full body kit
Aftermarket wheels
Aftermarket radiator
Aftermarket intercooler
Aftermarket steering wheel
Lower spring & timing belt replaced last year
And stating the obvious right hand drive if that contributes at all to the price negatively or positively.
I would appreciate whatever feedback or comment yall have to offer.

She’s a keeper man
Unless you wanna get something better, but if it doesn’t have any mechanical problems keep it.
Keep. 100%
What would you buy with the money? Is there anything out there you’d love as much? If we’re talking purely financial decisions the best car is a cheap used automatic Corolla or Civic.
Factory 5 speed 1jz.
Keep

Kind of a catch 22. Now is probably the best time in history to sell a chaser, especially one like yours that looks decent, but people aren’t really buying anything right now (assuming you’re US). Car market and economy are fucked so even though it might be worth $20-25k, you probably won’t end up getting a buyer.
I have a buddy that has a beams swapped ae86 in perfect mechanical condition that he can’t seem to get rid of even for well less than what it’s typically worth.
KEEP 1000000% I’m never getting rid of mine haha yours is awesome 👏🏻
Give you 20K. Lol
I know the financial pain of running a JZ platform. It really depends on if you can justify the costs against the joy it brings you, and the necessities of life. If you *need* the money then the choice is clear, but if it’s the joy/money ratio only you can decide that.
This car has soul. You can hardly find anything even remotely close to 98 Chaser out of newer cars. You know her and she knows you, don’t separate from each other. It is of course valid if there isn’t some life/death situation you’re facing and needing money here and now. Really hope you’re not.
Keep. These will appreciate.
