Japan Vacation VLOG Part 3 – Star Wars Celebration Japan

It’s uh officially Star Wars Celebration day one. It’s Friday here. It’s like 8:30 a.m. So, we’re heading there. We’re going to be there probably about an hour after they open at 9:00, which is good. We never like to be first cuz there’s just massive lines. So, um yeah, get excited. Get excited. I’m going to record a bunch of cool Star Wars stuff. [Music] There we go. After about an hour on the train, we’re here. Now, we’re going to go get our badge and then inside. Hope it’s good. Hope it’s good. Good layout. That’s all I want. There we go. [Music] [Music] Keep going. [Music] [Applause] Every [Music] day. Okay. So, this is a bit of a voice over. I’m going to talk about my experience at Star Wars Celebration. Um, let me say the positives. The positive, it was in Japan and Japan was absolutely wonderful. I’ve heard of post Japan depression and I thought it was make believe. No, it’s real. Once you go to Japan, it’s all you want to do is go back. Now, let me talk about the negatives, which was Star Wars Celebration. So, this was not my first celebration by any means. The best one was, in my opinion, Chicago 2018. So, what happened here was, as you guys saw in the footage, once you enter, there’s a huge line. Not a problem, right? And that line gets you to get your ticket, and then you leave that building, you go to another building line, and then you get into the showroom floor. As you enter is this Hasbro booth you’re seeing right here. The problem is right after the Hasbro booth, which has, I’m not kidding you, hundreds of people lined up in multiple Q- lines. It leads to the main stage. the main stage which around the clock was bringing in celebrities and they started off with Hayden Christensen at literally 9:30 a.m. Once everybody was in the showroom 4 got to a dead stop and what made it worse was that you couldn’t move past the main room because the hot toys booth was on the opposite side of the main stage and well that had about six lines of 500 people each because everybody was trying to scalp all the items. I wanted the uh cherry blossom stormtrooper. Yeah, they were going to be sold out because upon walking in, we literally saw one lady carrying four giant bags of Stormtroopers to resell. Sure enough, that night when we were back in the hotel, I checked eBay and yes, there was hundreds on sale. People were just scalping them. It took us about an hour and a half to get just out of the main room into the other rooms where the artist alley, which is what I was excited for the most, had about, and I’m not exaggerating, maybe 20 artists at best. It was so disappointing. Very little art that was inspired by Japan. Although there was some artists that were localized and they were cool, it wasn’t a whole lot that they had on offer. It was standard artists from like the United States and there wasn’t a whole lot of Japan flare to everything. Um, this was the ultimate most disappointing thing I could have imagined. We had tickets for the weekend. We went on Friday and that’s it. It actively made me not want to go because Friday for any con is always the slowest day. And I had friends who went on Saturday and Sunday and it looked even worse. I love Star Wars. I loved Celebration Chicago. This was not it. It was mismanaged. And Reed Pop, the company that runs this show, just needs to. They need to go. Awful. Just awful. I can say safely that I never want to go to a Star Wars celebration again. And the next one is going to LA. And God knows I don’t want to walk some of the unsafest streets in the world where right outside the convention center in Disney, it’s a overblown homeless population where they literally tell you not to walk down a street. So um Japan was great. Star Wars Celebration not so much. Um sorry to uh tell you that guys. I know it’s a little bit of a bummer cuz I had a great time walking to showroom 4, seeing cosplays, ran into a bunch of fans. It was great. But the overall way that the show was run, my god, what a disappointment to every degree. I still love Star Wars, but this was a negative experience in every sense of the word for Star Wars Celebration. Back in the hotel room, Shay got some like a Starbucks strawberry drink or something. Got some donuts. We’re going to try this. Oh, that’s fluffy. That’s good. Oh, it actually has filling. Oh, I didn’t know that. Oh, man. Yep. That’s good. Good donut. [Music] We more snackies. Yeah. Got snackies and uh while we wait for our pizza. Yeah. Found this little pizza place to show you guys. We decided we’re just going to stay in tonight. Uh Con just beats the hell out of you. So, um I just hooked it up and there’s a little like pizza place. What does this have that drink I’m addicted to? I don’t know. I don’t think I see it. I don’t know. But there see little pizza place right here. They’re delivery, but you can order on the window. So, we did back in our room. We got the French fries here. Uh but the pizza smells godly. So, uh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Oh, yes. I’m ready for this. I am ready for this. It smells so good. Oh, this is mine. So, Oh, they did. See, there you go. She’s got her little personal pizza. Got mine. Yeah, we’re good. All right. And we also got more snackies. Oh my god, that is so soft. I just don’t know what they do here. All the food’s like so fresh. Mhm. Mhm. It’s good. Oh man, so good.

Just a pair of Nerds here at RFN who like to work out to not feel so bad about binge sessions of Gaming, Reading Comics & Watching tons of TV and everything else we do and talk about here.
