A Night in a Japanese Castle Town in Shikoku: Beautifully Renovated Hotel

I’m going to stay a night at Nipponia Hotel Ozu Castle Town in Ehime, Shikoku. It’s a unique hotel where guest buildings are scattered throughout the town.

  1. Yo… Great video. Amazing place. 235.00 USD for the room, the champagne, the 8 course dinner of fine dining, and the deluxe breakfast???? That is INSANELY GOOD VALUE. Japan is the best. One day, I'll visit.

In the US, that dinner alone would cost you as much as the whole experience. Amazing.

  2. Thats very generous of the hotel to give u sparkling wine / champagne considering how much u paid for the room!

Will definitely add Nipponia Hotel to my KIV list for Japan!

  3. This location combined with the rain is such a cozy vibe 😊
Even though it is on the expensive side for accommodation, I do hope to see you visit more of these renovated traditional Ryokan 🙏

  4. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure. It looked like a very nice experience. I especially liked the quiet the streets in the rain.

  5. Great video. I enjoy watching your content. I am learning so much about Japan. I always look forward to your next video. I am hoping to get to Japan soon so I started learning Japanese. From a fan in Canada

  6. What a beautiful and unique experience! With the included dinner, breakfast, and complimentary drinks (a rarity in the states), I think it was well worth the price. The beds looked so soft, I'm not surprised at all that you slept through until the morning. Thank you for sharing this with us!

  7. Great video. It's great to mention that in Matsuyama, there are two station with similar name but different operators operating those stations. Its's unique to have hotel with the building scattered on a town, and yeah that venue for Dinner and Breakfast also separate from the room. It's rare to see you didn't wake up at midnight.

  8. How do Japanese people feel about having English on the train announcement and on the signs in these historic towns?

  9. I assume foreigners do not get any reservation unless they are well known or have some good recommendation….simply to keep it clean and nobody breaks the rules….! so pretty!

  10. such a light dinner, 2 rice balls and a full bottle of sweet red wine….sure you fell asleep after chatting and drinking with the tourists on an almist empty stomach! 🤣the dinner was fancy and surely expensive, but nothing to fill up at all!

  11. the location is marvellous…basically JAPAN …what evryone is looking for…expensive…as you rent out a whole appartement,,,..but the portions, no matter how exquisit the ingrediences are, are SMALL! i eat more on a diet….any grown up woman would be hungry….not kidding! not to speak any guy….

  12. Will you be trying out the new Sunflower ships, Kamui and Pirika? Since I began watching you, YouTube has begun suggesting videos from the official Sunflower Ferry channel, and they just posted about Kamui yesterday.

  13. What a delightfully charming place. Loved the traditional breakfast you were served. That one side dish is called 'hijiki' and is seaweed and carrot. The 'tofu' is not of soybeans, but Tamago Dofu, which is silky steamed egg and dashi. Pretty sure your bath was made of fragrant hinoki (wood). The whole experience is quality, especially the meals. What a tremendous value.

  14. What a unique and wonderful hotel. The rain added to the charm. The price is reasonable as it includes two meals and all the amenities and drinks in the room. What a peaceful and tranquil town.
