Life is short, the world is wide, and adventure is calling. In this video, we’re counting down the top 10 bucket list travel destinations to visit while you still can. From ancient wonders to vanishing landscapes. For each location, we’ll explore how to get there, the best time to visit, what to see and do, where to stay, how to get around, and tips to help you make the most out of your journey, including a fun fact to surprise you. Let’s dive in. Starting at number 10 on our list is the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The largest coral reef system in the world is under serious threat from climate change, making it a sea before it’s gone destination. To get there, fly into Karen’s International Airport in Queensland. From there, reef tourists depart daily. The best time to visit is June to October, the dry season, with water temperatures around 24 to 29° centigrade or 75 to 84° F. Perfect for diving and snorkeling. Must dos include snorkeling with turtles and reef sharks, a scenic helicopter ride over Hart Reef, and island hopping to Fitzroy or Green Island. Stay at Shangria the Marina Kairens for upscale comfort or Gilligan’s Backpacker Hotel if you’re on a budget. Get around using local shuttle buses in Kairens and Reef tour boats for day trips. [Music] Coming in at number nine is Petra, Jordan. An ancient Nabotian city carved into rosecolored cliffs. Petra is both a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the new seven wonders of the world. Fly in to Queen Aaliyah International Airport in a man and take a 3-hour drive or tourist shuttle to Petra. Visit between March to May or September to November for pleasant temperatures around 18 to 25° centigrade. Highlights include the walk through the seek to the iconic treasury, climbing to the monastery for sweeping views, and the magical candle lit Petra by night. Stay at Moan Pik Resort Petra just outside the entrance or the mid-range Petra Moon Hotel. You’ll mostly explore on foot, though donkeys can help with steeper sections. At number eight are the Galapicos Islands, Ecuador. A living museum of evolution, the Galapicos is one of the most unique wildlife destinations on the planet. Flight to Kito, then catch a domestic flight to either Baltra or San Cristobal Island. Visit between December and May for calmer seas and warmer water with temperatures between 26 to 30° centigrade. Snorkel with sea lions and penguins. Sea giant tortoises on Santa Cruz and hike the otherworldly Sierra Negra volcano. Stay at the Finch Bay Echo Hotel or hop aboard a small ship cruise for multi island exploration. Get around using small planes, fairies, or guided boat [Music] tours. At number seven is Venice, Italy. With rising tides and over tourism, Venice is quite literally sinking. So, now’s the time to go. Fly into Venice Marco Polo airport, then hop on a water taxi or shuttle bus. Best times to visit are April to June or September to October when temperatures hover between 15 and 23° centigrade. Glide through the canals on a gondola, marvel at St. Mark’s Basilica, tour the Dodges Palace, and explore colorful Morirano or Borano islands. Stay at the luxurious Hotel Danny Elli or the charming Casan Polo. Get around using Vaparettos, that’s Venice’s water bus, or simply [Music] walk. At number six on our list is Antarctica, the last untouched wilderness. But with melting glaciers, the pristine paradise might not stay that way. Fly into Oshuya, Argentina, then board a cruise ship across the infamous Drake Passage. Visit between November and March, Antarctica’s summer with temperatures from minus2 to 8° centigrade. Activities include zodiac landings to visit penguin colonies, kayaking between icebergs and whale watching in icy waters. You’ll stay aboard an expedition cruise ship and explore via zodiac boats. [Music] Coming in at number five is Kyoto, Japan. A perfect harmony of ancient tradition and modern culture, Kyoto is the spiritual and cultural heart of Japan. Fly to Osaka Kensai airport or Tokyo’s Hanida or Narita. Then hop on the Shinkasin to Kyoto. Best visited in spring for cherry blossoms or fall for autumn leaves with average temperatures between 10 and 20° centigrade. Explore the iconic Pushima Anari Shrine. Walk through Arashiyama bamboo grove and attend a traditional tea ceremony in Gian. Stay at the Ritz Carlton Kyoto for a luxury splurge or peace hostel for stylish affordability. Visit from October to April for cooler temperatures between 20 and 26° centigrade. Explore the pyramids of Giza. Go inside the Great Pyramid and check out the new Grand Egyptian Museum for a view you’ll never forget. Stay at Marott Mina House or Stigenberger Pyramids Cairo.
