Are you asking based on price or ? It’s a twenty years old car with a quarter of a million kilometers on it.

2JZ is known to have tons of aftermarket support, but this one is the FSE model, which may present some parts availability issues. As it needs some work, I would take it to a mechanic who knows JDM cars.
I would say it’s not worth the seller’s asking price; if it were lower then I would give it a look.

I mean, from what you can see in the engine bay, the lack of underbody photos and the “needs exhaust”, it’s going to be rust city.

Just get an ls400 or celsior, better motor and more aftermarket support

I mean it’s a gutless, non turbo econo-box version of the 2JZ in a slightly fancier IS300 chassis. I wouldn’t pay more than $2000-2500 personally.

I work on the theory that most JDM cars are worn out by 250-300,000km. Toyotas tend to be more towards that 300,000km end, this car is well on its way to worn out.
Most JDM stuff with this many KM have moved towards the project car area, but the idea of a Crown is to have a fancy car. Getting replacement seats and interior parts will be super difficult, swapping out worn suspension for stiffened lowered suspension kind of defeats the purpose of the car.
Yeah, get it if it’s what you want, as a project car, but not as a daily. If you’re worried about the price, a 25 year old luxury car with 250,000km on it is not the car for you.

Let’s be honest, our boy “Sonu Sonu” does not give 1 fuck about this car.
It’s on its last leg. When you see “project” in the description, it’s much worse than what the pictures show it to be.
I would expect this car to have a significant amount of rust and a bunch of mechanical parts that need cleaning and or replacing. But you get what you pay for i guess?

All these comments are whack!
This is a lot of car for that price, if it has good service history and you keep it up that engine will do well over half a million kms. Its the last era of toyotas, and all cars basically, that were half made to last, most cars after these models really adhere to planned obsolescence.
Heaps of spare parts available too. Regarding the comment about getting an ls400. These are basically the same car, they share suspension and brake parts, the jzs crowns, ucf ls400s, and jzx chasers are fundamentally same stuff. Lego cars
Slap a turbo on that engine theyre good for 300hp at the wheels on stock internals and it will be a fast car

These are amazing cars. Over built and comfy comfy cars. This particular one seems a bit rough though.
