TOKYO (Kyodo) — Kyoto Sanga right-back Shinnosuke Fukuda struck five minutes into injury time to clinch a 2-1 comeback victory away to Machida Zelvia in the J-League first division on Wednesday.


The 24-year-old blasted the winner from the edge of the box at Machida Gion Stadium after an attempted clearance sent the ball into his path.


The hosts opened the scoring in the 39th minute when young Japan center-back Henry Heroki Mochizuki side-footed his first J1 goal following Kotaro Hayashi’s long throw into the area.


Manager Cho Kwi Jae’s men equalized in the 73rd minute when Sora Hiraga headed in off Masaya Okugawa’s cutback from the byline.


Kyoto climbed to third in the standings with the three points, while Machida remain 10th.


In Wednesday’s other match, Sanfrecce Hiroshima moved up to fifth with a 1-0 win away to Shonan Bellmare, who stay 15th.
