Chasing snow blizzard in the countryside of Japan 🇯🇵 | 4K

[Music] Hey hey hey everyone. Today we are in Nagoka city in Nigata Prefecture. We booked this hotel for 2 days. We wanted to do some sightseeing activities in Nigata Prefecture with the snowy backgrounds but surprisingly there is no snow in Nigata Prefecture today. So today morning we woke up and took a quick decision to go to Yonis Sava which is another popular city for snow in Jamagata Prefecture. Since we use Sichan Jachi ticket we can only use J local train lines for our trip. It looks like we have to go our journey through a super remote area. So we came to this grocery shop in Nagawoka city that we can buy all the necessary stuff for our long journey. And look what I found while doing shopping. I found a very popular beer in Sri Lanka called lion beer. I was shocked and actually so happy to see something from my own country in Nigata Prefecture. Passing Nagawoka, we came to Nigata station. From here, we have to take this Hakushin train line that takes us to Sakamachi station. Well, Sakamachi is a very rural area in Nigata Prefecture that even Japanese people don’t know that it exists. And that being said, the best part of the trip actually begins from here. From Sakamichi to Yanisawa, we have to travel through a valley between two large snow cap mountains. There used to be a train line called Yanaka line that ran through these mountain pass. However, due to the low population density and high maintain cost. This railway was abandoned some time ago. Now the JR Yosaka line became a bus route that more cost effective to transport people around this area. It’s so sad to say that I have heard due to depopulation in Japan, several train lines in remote villages like this have been closed. [Music] [Music] Well, after 2 hours passing 12 abandoned railway stations, finally We came to a station called Imasumi. From here, the bus tour ends and we can get on a train to Yunisawa. And you know that 2-hour bus trip was epic. We passed many deserted villages and train stations. And even when they stopped for the toilet break, I saw a taxi dermite bear in one station. Oh my god, look at that train. It has only one car. These single car diesel trains are very rare to see. We can only see them in super countryside places like here. And look at that kawaii train. It’s so cute with all the pink color flowers on it. And actually that’s flower nagai line. Actually in 2005 this train line was in danger. It was about to shut down due to low passengers. But one single train operator act smart and he single-handed made this cute idea and improved the tourism in this area. And now this Yamagata flower line is still functioning thanks to him. And finally, it’s time to check our single train car. What kind of facilities do they have in here? I got really surprised to see a toilet in the train car. And not only that, they also have a trash can. And since this is a single train car, there are two driver seats on both ends. And let’s check what mode they have. The seat layout is also totally different from um Tokyo train lines. Usually in Tokyo we don’t have box seats and single seats. And here we can see the driver from the other end of the train. It will be a half an hour journey to Yonasawa through a super countryside. And here it begins. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. So finally we are in Yanisawa after 5 hours of train ride and a bus ride. We feel so tired after the long journey we had but still waited few minutes to see this Yamagata Shinkansen. Why? Because we love bullet trains as exactly we expected. It’s snowing in Yonisawa a lot. Melted and frozen snow is making it really difficult to walk. We actually booked this hotel while we are coming to Yanisawa by train. Even this hotel is the closest one we could find. It’s also like 400 m away from the station. So, since we weren’t used to walk in the snow, we had a hard time getting to the hotel. After do the check-in procedure, we plan to go to the room, get a wash, and then need to go outside and find some food. Actually, Yonisawa is very popular for Yonisawa beef. Our plan is to find a yakin place. So, we have a vending machine that filled with beer and we have laundry machines. And on the top of everything, I found this very delicious pineapple drink. Well, that was delicious for sure. Oh my god, it’s actually here’s the room that we found on the way to Yamagata. Well, it’s a nice room. It’s an average business hotel room. There’s all amenities that enough for us to spend the night. And there’s this beautiful super clean small washroom. As usual we see in business hotels in Japan. But here is the best part about this room. Unlike other business hotels in Japan, this has a beautiful view. We can see half of the city from the window and also the train tracks. As we planned, we came to the city to find a nice restaurant for dinner. But unfortunately, everything is closed because this is 31st of December. So, from the Google maps, we found this supermarket and we came to buy dinner packs. Oh my god. When we left the hotel, you know, the weather was perfectly fine. But look at that now. I have no words to say. This is the first time to see heavy snowfall in my life. Actually, this is the reason why we came to Yonisawa. And it’s time to enjoy this beautiful [Music] blizzard. Is it cold? But so far, it’s the time to say bye to year 2024. And welcome year 2025. This is what we see in the early morning. The first scene we saw in year 2025. January 1st. What a perfect scenery to see in the first day of the year. Right now, I’m watching this scenery while enjoying my coffee. But we have to get ready now to go downstairs and get the breakfast. And thank you very much for watching until the end, guys. Please hit the like button if you enjoy this video and put a comment about my trip and subscribe my channel for more
