Cherry Blossoms in Nara Park 🦌🌸 | Solo Spring Trip in Japan
A day trip to Nara, Japan’s ancient capital, during full cherry blossom season I was lucky to visit while the cherry blossoms were in full bloom Looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms and meeting the gentle deer Even on a weekday, it’s packed like a theme park during sakura season It’s my first visit to Nara Park since a high school field trip It’s just a 40-minute train ride from Osaka, so it’s an easy day trip Starting with lunch near the station Already found some beautiful cherry blossoms Looking forward to visiting more cherry blossom spots today Having lunch here The café latte was surprisingly good It had such a rich flavor I’m starting to doubt every latte I’ve had before A simple egg sandwich, perfect for a light meal The crispy bread was my favorite part 😊 Taking a bus from Nara Station to the next spot It was crowded, but I managed to get on Beautiful sakura outside the bus window This is Himuro Shrine, known for its cherry blossoms Planning to stop by later Heading to a spot in Nara Park known for its cherry blossoms Spotted a deer while walking! You can buy deer crackers and feed them here They bow to ask for snacks The weather is perfect today, it feels so nice Heading toward Ukimido Pavilion It’s much less crowded around here To enjoy cherry blossoms quietly, it helps to walk farther from the station Ukimido is a beautiful small hall that seems to float on the pond Surrounded by sakura, it’s especially beautiful in spring It was originally built in 1916 and rebuilt in 1994 due to aging The view from the pavilion is absolutely stunning In autumn, you can also enjoy the fall colors here The pavilion peeking through the cherry blossoms is beautiful A boat is coming It seems you can ride the boats freely here I’d like to try it someday with someone Time to move to the next spot It’s about a 10-minute walk Seeing deer roaming freely here always feels a bit surreal The deer is taking a break This is the largest open space in Nara Park As the name Kasugano suggests, the spring scenery here is especially beautiful Deer roam freely and it’s a peaceful place to enjoy nature The Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms here are also in full bloom and stunning Sorry, I don’t have any deer crackers 😂 That fluffy little tail is just too cute Now walking around the back of the Kasugano area The cherry blossoms here look like a different variety They’ve just started blooming, and the deeper color is beautiful I saw someone surrounded by deer, so I went to talk to them They said all the deer followed after just one cracker 😂 (Hungry deer squad) Now at the base of Mt. Wakakusa, just behind the last spot I’d love to hike up sometime, but not today Not feeling too confident in my stamina 😂 A deer patiently waiting for crackers It was watching me as I went to buy some I’ll give you one later, just wait okay? Back at Kasugano Park… Got the deer crackers—time to enjoy feeding them They rushed me and the crackers were gone in seconds Give one, and they’ll follow you forever (lol) Leaving Kasugano Park That’s the boss of the deer
(Sento-kun, Nara’s mascot character) Himuro Shrine is a historic place dedicated to the god of ice You can see beautiful cherry blossoms here in this season Deer seem to gather here to eat the fallen petals I wonder if they’ll eat from my hand… ✌ They’re fighting 😅 Let’s cleanse our hands here The cherry blossom petals are so pretty Trying an omikuji fortune ¥200 ($1.3) This one’s a special kind of omikuji You place the blank paper on this ice
and your fortune appears like magic It says “small blessing”… No profit, some loss…
Not the best result When that happens, you tie it here and leave it behind If it’s a good one, you take it home It’s almost sunset One last stop to see more beautiful cherry blossoms… Heading one station away from Nara Arrived at Shin-Omiya Station Looks like I made it before dark This is Saho River, about a 5-minute walk from Shin-Omiya Station The riverside is lined with fully blooming cherry trees They’ve been planting them since the late Edo period,
and now it stretches about 5 km They usually hold a cherry blossom festival here,
but it’s canceled this year due to construction That’s a shame
I hope I can see it another time Just walking along the river makes me feel happy It’s also a popular spot for photos I saw a lot of couples taking wedding pictures here A train passing through the cherry blossoms makes a perfect scene Even more beautiful with the sunset glow I can’t help but keep watching Strolling this cherry blossom path really calms my mind I wonder how many more times I’ll get to see sakura this beautiful Sakura season is always too short My only regret today—it’s freezing cold The sun’s going down and it’s getting really cold One jacket definitely wasn’t enough Even in spring, the nights are still chilly I wanted to enjoy the sakura a bit longer,
but the cold won this time Let’s grab some dinner before heading home I couldn’t find a place to eat in Shin-Omiya,
so I came back to Nara Station Warming up with a cappuccino while figuring out dinner plans I often go to another branch of this café Their baristas always make great coffee—I love it here Thinking of trying a noodle shop in the shopping street near the station They had a clear menu out front—very helpful Looks so good~ The warm broth really hit the spot after being out in the cold Nothing beats a hot bowl of udon on a chilly day Tourist spots can be hit or miss,
but this one was seriously good—highly recommend That’s it for today’s trip Thanks so much for watching See you in the next video
