12 HOURS ON LUXURY SLEEPER TRAIN IN JAPAN 🇯🇵 S8 EP 92 | SUNRISE EXPRESS | Pakistan to Japan Tour

Look, this is starting from Tokyo. I have been given a night suit. It’s so beautiful and comfortable. You can sit comfortably here as well. Look at this, this is a shower. It’s amazing. I am here to board my train. I met Umar from Toronto. Assalam Alekum How are you? Thank you so much, will meet soon. We will meet in Toronto as well. Sure. Thank you so much. Bye Assalam Alekum everyone. And welcome back to the channel from Tokyo. And I am at Tokyo Station right now. Everyone must have heard about the trains in Japan. And I am fascinated by trains. I mean, I travel a lot on motorcycles these days. Before this, whenever I got a chance, I used to travel on trains. There is a train in Japan that I really wanted to travel on. But I was not getting it’s reservation. It’s called Sunrise Express. You must have heard about Shinkansen in Japan. The fast trains here. So because of them, all the overnight slow trains got obsolete. The last train leaves Tokyo and reaches Izumo . It’s a 10 hour ride from here. And this is the last night train in Japan. So I got a chance today. Luckily, I visited the train station in the morning. They told me that a seat is available for today. So I agreed. I shall visit Izumo today. That’s why I reached Tokyo Station. Arif is with me. Assalam-o-Alaikum. Arif is working in the ministry in Tokyo. Yes, I am working here. I’m very happy that Abrar has come to Tokyo. You will enjoy his today’s experience of train’s journey. All the best, Abrar. Thank you very much, sir. The train has arrived. So let’s bid goodbye to Arif. See you again in Tokyo. Good night. Bye. This is the ticket for Sunrise Express. Car No. 10 is mentioned on it. It is mentioned on the ground that Car No. 10 will stand here. So let’s enter the train. Let’s see. I think I have to go this way. They have mentioned it over here as well. I thought I might have to go somewhere else. So let’s see. I am in my cabin. The seat no. is 4. This is seat no. 4 It’s good. Near the entrance, they have placed a pair of slippers below. I have to climb up the stairs. It’s so tight that my bag is stuck. I have to remove my bag. It was a little difficult. But Alhamdulillah. I will show you around this train. First, I will give you a tour of my cabin. Then I will show you the rest of the train. I have closed the cabin. The first thing you will notice about this cabin is its beautiful and large windows. You can enjoy the view from here. There are some controls here. I think this is for the radio. NHK is the national radio here. You can set an alarm here. There is a clock here. This is for heating and air conditioning. I think these are lights. Let me show you. This light is for the room. This is a night light. And this is a foot light. But I don’t know where it is installed. I don’t want to press this button as it’s only for emergency. I have been given a night suit. They have kept everything very clean. It looks very nice. The pillow is very comfortable. There is something stuffed inside it. They have stuffed something like beans inside the pillow. And there is a blanket here. This is for charging purpose. If you want to charge something, you can do it here. There is a speaker here for the announcements. You can keep your luggage in this space. There is a hanger here for hanging the clothes. Now let’s go this way. There are vents here for air conditioning and heating. You can adjust it accordingly. There is proper privacy here. You can shut it down, if you don’t want lights. Now let’s open it. It’s good that I can see outside. People are also standing outside and watching what Abrar is doing. He is making a video. The train was scheduled to leave at 9:50 pm. And it left Tokyo station at exactly 9:50 pm. So as a tourist, the purpose of boarding a train in Japan is not only to travel from point A to point B. You can learn a lot of things that are part of their culture from this kind of journey. For example, Japan is very clean. So you will see this cleanliness everywhere in the train. I would like to cover other areas as well. My area is spotless. I will show you the other areas as well. Apart from that, there is a lot of value for time here. So everything runs on time. The train left on time. These are very comfortable journeys. I have a comfortable bed here to sleep at night. I have a window here. It will provide a beautiful sunrise view. I will enjoy that as well. I paid 10,000 Yen for this train. That is around 70 USD. I have a Japan Rail Pass. I got it for 14 days. I paid around 600 USD for it. I bought it while I was in Pakistan. They got it delivered to my residence. The hard copy of voucher was delivered at home not the digital one. I took it to the office of JR, Japan Railway. They converted it. Due to which I got some concession. It has a basic seat available, which is economy class. I will show you that later. I wanted to have a compartment like this. One is more luxurious than this. But it wasn’t available. So, I couldn’t opt it. I so wanted to have that. You’re supposed to make reservations, one month in advance. I couldn’t do that. Anyway, this is a good room. The train will stop at certain places. It is a 10 hour ride. I will enjoy it. I will try to visit other areas after a couple of stops. I will give you a walking tour of the train. I forgot to tell you about the route map of this train. It starts from Tokyo. It covers a long distance and reaches Izumo. There will be a lot of stops on the way. There will be a significant stop area in Yokohama. Then in Kyoto, Kobe, and Himaji. It’s a long journey. I mentioned earlier that it is a 10 hour train. It is actually a 12 hour train. It departed at 10:00 pm. It will reach at 10 am. Let’s wear sandals and put my shoes here. I will show you around. There is a lock here. You can set it as you wish. Let’s set it. It is locked. It won’t open. I put a random number here. You can use it when you go out. You will notice that there is a little gap in the middle. This is a common area. People are eating here. You need a card to take shower here. There is a shower facility in this train. It costs 1000 Yen. I will pay later when I have to take a shower. There is a vending machine here. If you don’t have anything to eat, you can get everything here. There is everything to drink here. But there might be something to eat, if I go ahead. There is a clean wash basin here. I think this is a toilet. Let’s see if I can go inside. It is open. There is no one here. It is spotless. Clean toilets in Japan. Everything is clean and shiny. I think this is a proper Japanese style toilet. No, it is a simple toilet. I think these are the deluxe rooms. I didn’t get the reservation here. There is crew here. You can get information from them. There is a place to put garbage. This is the basic economy class. It’s ticket is inclusive of my JR pass. I could avail it free of cost. These are also very nice and comfortable. You can spend the night here. They are built in Tatami room style. I have reached Yokohama station. The train will depart shortly. This is a big station. It looks lively. They have opened the shower room. Let’s give you a tour of it. It is very neat and clean. Someone had a shower here. That’s why you can see the hair. There is a mirror here. You can keep your clothes here. You can discard tissues in the dustbin here. Look at the shower here. It is amazing. You can take a shower here comfortably. They have given soap and shampoo here. There is a button here. You can press it after having a shower. So that someone comes and cleans the shower. It is too clean. Let’s go to the room and sleep. I will wake up in the morning and see how the journey will be. I have put the shutter down to sleep comfortably. Let’s set an alarm. I will wake up at sunrise. Assalam-o-Alaikum and good morning. It is almost 7 in the morning. I have had a comfortable night here. I had a good night’s sleep. I woke up around 5:30 am in the morning. I have traveled in night trains before. I thought that the sound of the train might be disturbing to sleep. But they did a good job of soundproofing. So, I slept comfortably. I lifted the shutter up in the morning to enjoy the beautiful view. I’ll enjoy the view for a while and then I will take bath and get ready for the next stop, which is 3 hours away. There is no restaurant and vending machine in the train for food. So I will have my breakfast in Izumashi. So let’s enjoy these views. I’m about to reach Izumashi I am sitting here and enjoying the views outside. I will reach Izumashi in half an hour. The train has reached here at 10 o’clock sharp. Not a minute up, not a minute down. The accuracy of Japan’s trains is very good. It is one of the best trains I have boarded on. I had taken a night train in Iran before. I really liked it. This is next level. If you are coming to Japan, you should definitely try it. I don’t think this is a big station. Let’s see. Let’s show them the ticket. Let’s check the exit. Arigatou. I can see a few cafes there. I can get something to eat from here. Let’s have breakfast. This looks like a supermarket. I can get anything I want from here. Let’s walk towards the city center. I don’t think the city is very lively. But I have to find a cafe. Then I will walk back to the train station. Japan’s population in towns is not that much compared to major cities. The overall population of Japan is around 124 to 125 million. Out of which, around 32 to 33 million people live in Tokyo. Then there is Yokohama as well. Osaka has a good population. The rest of the town seems empty. Maybe because it’s a working day. Of course, Japan is beautiful and clean. These small streets of Japan are very beautiful. They are very clean and the asphalt is of good quality. You can see the road lines everywhere. This street is looking very beautiful. Such roads are quite normal in Japan. You can see them everywhere. But they are beautiful. I saw a cafe here. You can see how beautiful the entrance of the cafe is. One feels like visiting it even if not hungry. I think this is a supermarket instead of a cafe. It’s difficult to order here. There are timings here. Breakfast is from 9 to 11:00 am. It’s been two minutes since it’s 11 o’clock. She said we can’t serve you breakfast now. There was chicken for lunch. So I said no. So, I ordered coffee and a cake. This is my breakfast. I’ll pick up some things from 7-11 on the way. I thought I’d at least have some coffee here. I could get it from 7-11 as well. But I thought to have it from here. The place where I entered was the shop and this is the restaurant. It’s a beautiful restaurant. They have served a cake. It looks like cream. I have coffee. The cake is delicious. The serving is small. It should have been more. It’s so delicious. I really liked the cake here. I’ll take some pastries from the shop. I’ll eat them wherever I want. Because it was so delicious. Have a look here. They seem beautiful. Made of beans, rice and matcha. I’ll do some translation to see what I can eat from here. I think I had a cake like this. The one on the bottom. This one too. I think it’s with matcha. Looks delicious. Green tea. Thank you. I’m used to taking things with me. But then I realize that I won’t find a dustbin here. So I have to carry it around. I’ll put the extra things in the bag. I’ll eat the rest and throw it in a dustbin. I took the green tea one. I thought I’d try it. The other one was really good. It has beans in it. It has a unique taste. You can say that this is the main market area of the city center. But a lot of shops are closed. The city is not lively. I had an idea that this is not a big town. So I won’t get to see such liveliness here. But still, I thought that since a lot of tourists come here, it might be a lively city. But it’s nothing like that. Thankfully, I have a JR Pass. So I’ll go from here and take a train ticket. The biggest advantage of Japan Rail Pass is that you have unlimited options. You can go wherever you want. If I had purchased the ticket in advance, it would have been difficult for me. Anyway, the train was really good. Highly recommended. Do try it if you are coming here. Remember me in your prayers. Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share. See you in the next vlog. Bye.
